Spade Pirates - Isle of the Heartless

What: Sailin'! We'll be all over the place and the log details may change given time.
Warnings: None so far. Can be updated if it gets violent, etc.
Style: Action / Prose is fine.
Status: OPEN to crew, CLOSED to people teleporting in unless there's permission!

[This will be a general catch-all post for mingling! I'll just toss in weather for the next 2 weeks.]

10/16 - 10/20 [AT SEA, SAILING SOUTHWEST] - We'll mingle at our leisure! Ace's Devil Fruit power will push the weather at bay a little and it'll be mostly sunny skies. Also, they may encounter a ghost ship... OK, they will.

10/21 - 10/22 [ARRIVAL TO HEARTLESS ISLAND, LEAVING ON THE 22ND] - You guys can't blame Ace for a hasty escape this time!

10/23 - 10/25 [AT SEA, SAILING ?????] - The crew will be dealing with a sudden squall pending the arrival of a hurricane from the other side of the Heartless Island. As the crew may have to put everything into avoiding the hurricane, their course will be a bit... off.

10/26 - 10/27 [STONE NEST / KRAKEN NEST] - 'Nuff said. They'll leave once it becomes apparent they have nothing else to gain from being there. The weather, upon leaving, will likely be sunny because of Ace.

10/28 - 10/31 [FREE SAILING, MAYBE ISLAND #3'S INITIAL JOURNEY] - Barf. Ghost ships Round 2!

Look. Are you part of this ship, or not? If you are, you gotta play your part in it, same as everybody else. You gotta muck in.

You're not listening, are you? I'm not saying I won't clean up, I'm saying that I won't limit myself just to follow this schedule of yours. I do whatever needs to be done, if others don't do it until it's their "turn" in the schedule, that's their problem and their time they have to fill.

*Selphie just looks plain confused now. What are you even talking about right now? She raises a brow and shakes her head, pointing to his rota*

Well, that's the point of the rota. You do your bit, and that's that. I'm not gonna slave drive you all over the place.

I'm telling you, my "bit" is whatever I want to do. I'm not going to do just a bit of cleaning and leave it for someone else to continue. If they want to do it, they better hurry and get to it before I do, because I'm not following this rota.

You can't not follow the rota. That's not how this works. I'm in charge of cleaning, and that means making sure everyone is doing their fair share. This, by the way, is NOT doing your fair share.

*Okay, so now she is genuinely annoyed by this, and the frowning is more obvious*

What makes you think that you're so great that you can ignore the rules and do what you want?

You are in charge of cleaning? Since when? And apparently according to you doing one's "fair share" means doing just a little bit everyday sticking to this schedule. I've been doing cleaning as it was needed, as much as was needed, I'm not going to just limit how much I do just because you have decided that now everyone has to do some cleaning instead of leaving it to a few people.

Next you will want to do the same with all the chores in the ship, and when that happens, what will I be supposed to do whenever it's not my turn of doing something? Be social?

Since Thatch said I was, actually. So there. I didn't just make this thing up, ya know.

*Selphie frowns some more, and opens her mouth, ready to say something else but then... She starts to giggle*

Are you telling me that the problem here is that you're not doing enough cleaning? Well, for that, I'm pretty sure there's plenty duties on there that most people don't wanna do, so you can take them back if they're so precious to you. I mean, we can't have you actually going around and hanging out and having fun with the rest of the crew now, can we? Nopes - that would just be totally stupid and weird.

I can imagine, just as I imagine some people would prefer to not do any cleaning at all. That's why I'm saying that I will do it, regardless of the schedule.

[And yes, he agrees with that last part, even if he knows she's being sarcastic or ironic.]

*Wow. Selphie can't actually believe what she's hearing right now. Her eyes and her mouth open wide and she just stares for a moment or two. Where did this guy even come from?*

You're... you're... really stupid. Did you know that?

Just because I prefer to work to be social? Fine, if you consider that's stupid, so be it.

*Selphie is actually facepalming right now*

I just...don't even know what to do with you...

It means... that I'm gonna have to come up with a completely new rota for you. A special one.

*So she holds out a hand, expecting that he'll be happy to hand over his old one*

[Narrowed eyes because he doesn't honestly trust her, but he gives her the paper anyway.]

Or you could just leave me be. As long as I clean then there's nothing for you to worry, and I don't intend to slack off.

[He's not good at doing nothing after all.]

*Selphie takes the paper swiftly, and folds it up several times until its small enough to fit into the small pocket of her skirt*

Are you kidding? You're one of the crew that I worry about the most. I'm not worried about your cleaning, but you definitely need to work on your social fun skills.

[He isn't surprised.]

I don't. And you're in charge of cleaning duty, not on social fun duty, so don't even think of that.

You do so. You suck at having fun. Seriously.

*Because this is a very serious matter*

And I'm your friend. And part of being friends with someone is being able to have fun with them. So...

I don't, I just haven't had the chance to have fun yet.

[And since when they are friends? Ikki narrows his eyes but says nothing, even if he doesn't agree he's used to people thinking he's their friend. Like Seiya and the others, except that he's not, even if they are his brothers and he's always there when they need him and worries over them.]

I've the feeling that for you everyone in this ship is your friend, you must have a lot of worries then.

You've had loads of chance! You're on this ship, with lots of cool people to hang out with. How much of that have you been doing?

*Okay, so Selphie has no real idea that anyone could possibly dislike her, but she knews for sure that there are plenty others on the ship worth being friends with*

Well, yeah. Everyone on the ship is my friend. Aren't they all your friends too?

That's not how I have fun.

[Ikki doesn't dislike her, in her own way, she's quite likeable. He just doesn't do this "friends" business.]

Of course not. They are my crewmates, that's all.

Oh, so we're not good enough now, huh?

*Partially teasing, partially somewhat bristled*

Tell me, how do you have fun? What can we do for you to make you happier round here?

You guys can't do anything. Unless you can make us be attacked. I have plenty of fun when I bring my enemies down, one way or the other.

[Actually that's really the only thing he knows how to do. Having fun was never something he learned but he will die before he admits it.]

You know what? Screw you. You can be as mean to me as you like, but the rest of the crew? No way. That's not fair. We can do plenty - you're just too stupid to realise that.

*She's pretty mad by now, so the point where she feels like she could hit him. But she won't, though her hand does ball into a fist. Instead, it grabs the rota back out of her pocket and she thrusts it hard towards his chest*

Here. You're back on your rota. I'm not having you thinking you're better than anyone else. Even if you do wanna do more cleaning.

[He actually smirks at that and shakes her head.]

You really don't get it. It's not about being better than anyone else, it's actually the contrary. And you would do well to remember that and save your time.

[He takes the paper again, though he has no intention of following it as he already stated.]

And make no mistake, not being friends and having fun with others doesn't mean that one can't work with their companions or that they think said companions are useless.

*The frown on Selphie's face relaxes as she realises what he means. It dawns on her that she's part of that 'not being friends' group too. When it does, she does her best to appear nonchalant about it*

Yeah. You're right. People can still work together. That's the main thing.
