Sexy Spade Pirate Times. I Mean, Romance. Maybe.
Who: Spade Pirates All!
Where: Aboard The Ship, in various places.
What: Pop up romantic dates!
Warnings: Depends on how saucy or not the dates get!
Style: Whatever turns you on ;)
Status: Open your hearts!
So Selphie has decided that there's been far too much doom and gloom around the ship lately. The kraken, Sora dead, all the problems with the curses, and then turning back again. What better way to make that better than with a little bit of romance? Selphie set to it, using her own supply of candles and flowers (admittedly rather dried up by now). One evening, dotted around the ship in several places, are pop up romantic dates. These include a couple of candles, some flowers, some chocolates, and a sandwich sliced into two (because she wasn't going to cook a whole bunch of meals)!
Who left it there? Who knows? But it definitely looks like it was put there to be enjoyed, ideally by two people. If it looks romantic, that's because it's supposed to be. So grab your nearest and dearest Spade pirate, or bring two people together, and enjoy some flirting, love, and relaxation.
As for Selphie herself, she might be A) somewhere on the ship. Perhaps you stumble across her near a pop up date, or maybe you go looking for her to drag her/invite her to join you for the evening. Or B) you spy her/find her making a massive pile of sandwiches, or sorting dead dried flowers into bouquets, using strips of her pillowcase as ribbons.
Enjoy, Spades!

Maybe. But only a little.
*She tries a smile, to lighten the mood, determined not to be looking at him with sad eyes. The thing is that she does understand, it makes sense to her, and she knows how angry and hurt he is by it. What troubles her now is how to save him from that, how to find a way to make him even a tiny bit happy*
no subject
Her answer doesn't surprise him, and he looks at her with eyes that say so. He knows how this story goes, he has been there and done it already, and he knows it's useless but he still tries to stop it from starting.]
Only a little? So it's really not enough for you yet? What else do you want?
no subject
Lemme see... I want... to know what your favourite flavour of icecream is, and if you like music, and what kind. I want to know what your favourite animal is, and if you like being at sea all the time. That'll do. For a start.
*While she waits for his answers, she plays with the little bouquet of flowers, and plucks one free. It's a large flower, that probably used to be white, but is yellowing now, and tucks it behind her ear*
no subject
I don't really have preferences for icecream or music, I don't have much of either. About animals... Tch, I don't care either, I used to like wolves, I think, when I was a brat. And I don't mind being at the sea all the time, or I wouldn't if I didn't have things to do back at my world.
[He's so helpful... But he's sincere, though it doesn't matter if she realizes it or thinks that he's being difficult on purpose this time.]
no subject
Me too! Wolves are awesome!~
*Though when he's done she wrinkles her nose, because it's still not quite good enough yet*
Okay, okay. So... would you rather be able to fly or breathe under water? What would your dream woman be like? Or, ya know, man, or both, or whatever. Do you like cake? Do you... like the flower in my hair?
*Apparently she's just running a list of whatever comes to her head, but she seems happily amused by it all*
no subject
[Of course that happened a long time ago, now... He doesn't really care anymore. And he has found an animal that is stronger and lonelier than wolves.]
I can fly already, if I can keep it I suppose breathing under water, if not, I will stay the way I am.
[He frowns at the next question, thinking before he answers honestly.]
I don't particularly dream with any woman or man. Unless nightmares count and I would prefer to not recount those.
[Guess who hasn't really gotten the question.]
I don't care much about cake or sweets in general, not even as a kid. I valued a piece of meat more than a piece of candy, filled the stomach more and gave me more energy.
[He pauses and tilts his head at the last question.]
Would look better if it was more yellow. Yellow looks good on you, bright and vibrant, like you.
[Satisfied now?]
no subject
You can fly already? You mean in a ship? My ship's called the Ragnarok. I mean, it's not really mine but I drive it, ya know?
*As for that answer about his dream woman, Selphie just stares at him for a moment. Is he being serious? Probably. But she's not going to confuse things now by going into that one any further*
Hmm. That's pretty weird. I mean, meat is good and everything but.. I guess maybe you haven't tried the best sweet stuff yet!
*In all honesty, Selphie had expected really simple answers, even just a yes or no for the last two. So with his final answer, she's rather taken aback, and she blushes slightly, whether he meant it as a compliment or no*
Oh! Thank you...
no subject
[He arches an eyebrow at her question about flying.]
In a ship? Ships don't fly where I'm from. Airplanes do, either way I don't need any of those to fly.
Tch... I guess I haven't tried many sweet things. When I was a brat, and I was able to get my hands on some food I preferred other things... I remember once going for sweet stuff but after having tummy ache and getting hungry after a short while I decided it wasn't worth it. And when I grew up... I haven't had chances to eat those things, neither interest for them.
[He didn't mean it as a compliment, neither he meant it as an insult or anything. It's just his opinion, since he has gotten this far and is answering her questions he figured it would be better to be honest. And hopefully faster to kill her curiosity.]
no subject
*She's pretty sure that she means that in a nice way, anyway. She does tilt her head and look a little confused about the flying thing*
Okay... so how do you fly? Going by plane totally doesn't count, you know. Or by helicopter!
*She giggles at his mentiom of sweet things, and is prompted to take another chocolate*
Aww that's sweet, and too bad. Maybe you just have to control yourself a bit more.
*And he doesn't even mention the compliment, which is weird, maybe, but she just lets it go before she freaks him out any further*
no subject
Guess it will be faster and clearer if I just show you.
[It would be easier with is Cloth on, whatever they have done to their powers seems to make it even a bit harder for him to use his Cosmos without it, but harder doesn't mean impossible, and it's not as if he plans to try to go far. In fact, despite how there's difficulty for him to it, for the untrained eye, or someone not used to how Cosmo works, it won't appear to be any difficulty.
It starts slowly, first what seems to be a soft aura glowing around him before flames start to raise from his body, licking the skin and dancing on the air. He closes his eyes to concentrate better and in a moment the flames increase in number and size, more and more until they involve him completely in what seems to be a huge ball of fire that suddenly seems to part, wings made of flames extending to the sides as what seems to be the head of a bird is formed. Then he jumps up, and up the flame bird goes, flapping its wings until it's high over the ship and then turns and flies in circles over it. One, two, three and it descends again, quickly and easily, the flames seem to crash against the deck and slowly vanish, leaving behind just Ikki standing now in front of Selphie. Probably the most amazing part is that despite the flames nothing seems to have burned.]
That's how I fly.
[He actually looks slightly smug about it, even if normally he doesn't enjoy showing off. It has been a while since he had the chance to use his Cosmos, and it feels good.
He frowns slightly at her comment about controlling himself with sweets.]
You try to control yourself from eating too much when you haven't had anything to eat in three days and have a baby screaming and crying in your arms. At least I was able to get him milk, I don't want to imagine what could have happened if I had given him sweets as well.
no subject
That was amazing! I never knew there were two phoenixes on the ship!
*As far as she's concerned, he has every right to feel smug. When he continues, she looks a little less pleased and lowers her eyes*
Oh, right. I see. Who..was the baby?
no subject
[Had he known he would have just said "I'm a phoenix" but he figured that if she didn't know it would still require explanation.]
I'm a bit different from him, but the basics are the same.
[Fire birds, huge regenerative capacity, probable immortality...
He sits back where he was before as she asks about the baby.]
My little brother, our mother died moments after giving him birth so I had to take care of him. He survived, if you are wondering, though those were hard times, at least he was a newborn so he doesn't remember the worst of them.
no subject
*Selphie bites her lip with the mention of his mother passing, but she's soon smiling again*
Then he's lucky he has such a good big brother like you! You both still have family, and that must be so cool!
no subject
[Which was mostly a whole lot of fire that somehow shaped in the form of a bird, rather than like Marco who is mostly a bird with flames.]
No. I'm the one who is lucky to have him, he would have been better off without me. When our mother died I took him and ran away, we lived in the streets, and whenever we were brought to an orphanage I took him back and ran away again because everyone who wanted to adopt him didn't want to adopt me and I refused to be separated from him. Had it not been for me he would have had a real and full family even if he still ended in the same place as he is now. He would have a real place he belonged to.
[Instead of staying at the Kido mansion together with Saori because he had nowhere else to go or means to get a place.]
no subject
*Selphie thinks about this, moving to stretch her legs out in front of her, careful not to knockanything over. She wonders why no one would take Ikki, but she doesn't plan on asking him such a question*
But you got to stay together, and that must count for a lot, real family.
no subject
[It's also not like he absolutely changes, but more like the fire surrounds him and he fuses with it or dissolves on it, but he has never really cared about those technicalities.]
I'm sure he would agree with you. But now, after everything is said and done, I think it would have been better for him to actually have parents and a home to return to, rather than a brother who only appears when he's needed.
[He gives her a pointy look.]
But I don't think of it enough to change my ways so don't bother suggesting that I have heard that enough back there.
no subject
Much better than a brother that doesn't appear at all.
*Of course she was going to say something at first, but he's warned her againsts it so she mimes zipping her mouth shut and shrugs*
no subject
I suppose it could have always been worse.
[He looks around and grabs half of a sandwich, taking a bite before he shifts his attention to her.]
Anything else you want to ask?
no subject
Nopes. Not for now. I don't wanna ask all the questions and then never have anything to talk to you about ever ever again, ya know? What about me? Anything you wanna know?
no subject
I'm not good with asking questions about others.
[Meaning he has no idea what to ask.]
no subject
*She has some hope that he'll come up with something, but she's fairly certain that he probably isn't interested enough to ask any questions. She eyes up the second half of the sandwich, but thinks she'll wait and see if he wants it first*
no subject
I'm really not good at asking others just for the sake of it. Everyone has skeletons in their closet, and I don't wish to poke at any of them, what is trivial for me may not be so for you, so it's impossible to know what may hit a mine or not.
[He falls silent, looking at the floor and for a moment it seems that he really isn't going to ask anything.]
I want to know why you insist in knowing me. Even if you want to try to get to know everyone on the crew and be friends with them, there's enough people and enough work to decide when to cut a chase when the other is a jerk to you.
no subject
He-eey! What you trying to say? Do I look like a lady with a whole load of skeletons in her closet?
*As soon as the pout was there it was gone again, replaced by a teasing grin. So finally he does seem curious about something, at least*
It's because I like your hair.
*Yup, even Selphie can do deadpan humour. Laughing, she leans over to pat his knee and shake her head*
Why not? I can't be friends with the whole crew and miss you out. That'd be mean!
no subject
[His tone is very serious, as well as his gaze as he looks at her own eyes for a moment before looking away. Of course there may be exceptions but Ikki isn't one to believe in those.]
I'm pretty sure you could, and it wouldn't be as mean as I'm sure I've been to you. I'm not someone people come to like, even those who claim to do so often want to just punch me in the face or give up on me. If my own brothers may feel like that even when I don't try to make them think so, why wouldn't you?
no subject
Whoa, wait a minute...
*Finally she looks back at him, this time seemingly very much amused*
Just because I like you doesn't mean I haven't thought about punching you.
*Despite her sweet expression, she does look like she means it*
