001 ☈ all aboard the s.s. shanghaied! [CLOSED]
Who: Kay Faraday and Miles Edgeworth.
Where: Isla Empieza, beginning from the Town Center going to the beach...and then onto an unknown pirate ship.
When: Nov. 7. Daytime.
What: What starts as a typical dog-walking and attorney-assistant bantering day turns into Trouble with a capital T when they are captured by pirates. Spoiler: They'll be fine, no one will die, and the innkeeper will somehow manage to keep Edgeworth's dog safe.
Warnings: Pirates. What pirates do and all. There won't be any killing but there will be fighting and capturing and the usual pirating.
Style: First/commentspam/actionspam/whatever you call it.
Status: Closed.
[Kay has been bouncing from looking for a new crew to simply gathering up more people, and she was certain that eventually, new newbie pirates would be dragged onto this island, just like last month. She was torn between waiting for that deluge of new folk but a part of her wondered if that would really happen again, or if Scurvey Dog was satisfied with two batches of pirates from across every universe. Still, hanging around in an inn with Edgeworth was not exactly how she had planned on spending her days in Ghost Pirate Land.
Right now, she accompanied Edgeworth as he took his dog out for a walk. Maybe along the way, she could find some interesting places to get a better job to earn more money for supplies. Moonlighting as a waitress in the inn they hung out in was not going to cut it if they were going to get back onto the sea. So far, the shady taverns weren't looking very promising. Kay glanced at one and wrinkled her nose.]
You could practically smell the man-smell and the reek of alcohol in there. Ew.

Not that he liked spending time at the inn any better than Kay did. However, he would rather that she hung around where he could keep an eye on her.
As Edgeworth walked beside Kay, with Pess trotting alongside the two quite happily, he turned to the tavern where Kay was looking at and frowned.]
All the more reason to avoid it. [Edgeworth was still stubbornly trying to deny that they were in another world with pirates. Despite what the journals say. And despite what he had seen on the whole island. In spite of that, however, even he was not irrational enough not to be unsure about the shady-looking taverns and streets.]

[She reached down absently and stroked Pess' furry head as they walked past it and closer to the beach and the shipyards.]

Pess, meanwhile, just nudged her head against Kay's hand, enjoying the attention. Daddy's nice friend is very nice! Edgeworth, meanwhile, glanced ahead and caught sight of a few ships near the dockyard ahead of them. Would it be possible to buy a boat to go home...?
No, that's just silly. How on earth would a boat help them get back to Los Angeles without a map? Besides, going back home did not require buying into this silly pirate business.
.....Did it?]

I wanna check on the ship my old crewmates left behind. Wanna come? Then we could play with Pess on the beach!
[What Kay doesn't know is that they won't get to play with Pess at all that day.]

[She gestures for Edgeworth and Pess to come on over, then takes off to the cluster of ships, searching for the Normandy (short version of the name). Kay pays absolutely no attention to one particularly large, wicked-looking ship with dark planks and blood-red sails in the dock. Maybe she'll pay attention to it later, but for now? Her ship was top priority.]

[While Edgeworth follows Kay to the cluster of ships, Pess starts to do the same but then stops, sniffs a little and then starts growling.....]

[And now she has another reason to not pay attention to the large foreboding ship; Kay hears Pess growling and hurries on over to the dog.]
Pess?
Hope this is okay! If it's not, I'll change it.
Edgeworth turns his head and suddenly, a gunshot comes from the boat with the dark red sails but misses both, Kay, Pess and Edgeworth - instead, it lands on the ground besides Edgeworth's feet, making him jump!]
It's fine!
From the big dark ship with the red sails.
She squinted and could just make out the silhouette of a man standing on the gangplank. Soon more of them were beginning to swarm down the plank, headed for their direction, and Kay was still frozen with fear to say or do anything...]
NO I AM NOT LATE FOR THIS. SHUT UP.
No, whatever they were, they could kill both him, Kay and Pess if they did not get out of here fast! He had to do something.
He tried to step backwards, about to run, and will probably end up bumping into Kay and fall over her if she didn't dodge out of the way. Pess, meanwhile, bared her fangs at the pirates and started barking really loudly, willing to use all her strength to protect her master!]
THERE'S NO LATE
Aaaaargh!
[As she struggles to get away, one of the pirates levels his sword close to her throat as his companion begins tying up her wrists.]
H-hey! Lemme go!
