[Roxas scratches his head.]

That's never happened before. At home the sun always comes up and goes down. I like to watch the sunset.

Raising and lowering the sun is my duty in Equestria, and one I have performed for a very long time. Seeing the sun move on its own here is still very strange for me, but seeing it fail to do so, and being unable to correct it, is one of the worse experiences of my life.

[She says this all calmly, if sadly, in a way that does not reflect at all her own feelings of unhappiness and failure.]

[He's not entirely sure he understands what she's talking about but he puts a hand on her shoulder gently.]

Don't be sad...it's okay. I'm sure the cold will stop soon.

I ought to be able to stop it. I am sorry that I cannot.

[Such simple words hide a depth of frustration, anger, and disappointment that she will never make public if she can help it.]

I am glad you have found a place, though.

It might stop soon. We can hope for that, right?

[What is this feeling? He doesn't like that she sounds sad, or frustrated. It doesn't seem fair. He scratches his head, he might have to ask Lea later.]

Yeah, I'm glad Lea's here. I missed being his friend.

[If Celestia ever lets the full force of her emotions out, Roxas might learn a lot. Almost a pity she won't...]

Then I hope you'll write on occasion, and tell me how your journey is going. I'd like to hear about it.

Okay! I'm not sure how good that will be. I used to keep a diary but it's hard to know what to write in it.

When Twilight Sparkle, who was my student for many years, moved away to Ponyville, I asked her to write letters to me on the magic of friendship, because that is what she needed to study. What do you need to study?

[Roxas blinks at her a few times.]

Study? I don't know. Everything, I guess.

If that's the case, then you will learn a very great deal, and I would love to hear about it.

You would? Okay! I can tell you about it.

[Roxas grins, that sounds kind of fun, and a lot like he does with Lea.]

I'd very much like to hear. It would help me learn about things in this world as well, as well as things from your own.

Things from my world? Like what?

As the only thing I know about your world is that you come from it, anything other than that is new to me.

Hmmm. Well, I know some things about it. There's these Heartless..they're creatures that steal hearts. It takes a Keyblade to get rid of them.

[letteropener]

Steal hearts?!

[That's one of the more alarming things Celestia has ever heard.]

Yes, I think so. Then when you beat them with the Keyblade, the heart gets released and it goes to Kingdom Hearts. That much I know.

[letteropener]

That... is dreadful. [She's concentrating on keeping her hackles lowered and her wings furled, despite all desire to the contrary.] The more so if the victims cannot be restored.

We were collecting the hearts for Organization XIII, so we could have our own hearts, because Nobodies like me don't have hearts.

[letteropener]

[One of Celestia's eyebrows slowly goes up.]

I find that very difficult to believe.

[heartismyown]

It's true. I'm not a person with a heart. My Somebody is Sora, if you've met him. He's on our ship somewhere. I might meet him really soon. I'm not sure what to think about that. I'm not supposed to exist. But Namine told me that Organization XIII is bad, so I guess I was doing bad things. Didn't feel like it though.

I seem to recall you saying you looked forward to meeting friends, and that you were happy I would be your friend. Those aren't the actions of somepony with no heart, you know.

I don't really know about that, all I know is that Nobodies don't have hearts, and that's why they're trying to get Kingdom Hearts. I'm a Nobody, so that means I too don't have a heart. Sora's the one with the heart.

[He sighs a little.]

Maybe I just want to have a little fun before I disappear.

That sentiment, too, is not one a heartless person would have. You may say you have no heart, but you prove otherwise very simply.

Axel says that Nobodies don't really have emotions. Maybe I remember my emotions from before I was me...but I don't remember anything else, so I can't say.
