And so, at the beginning of January, the Shepherd set off from Isle Impieze back to Green Breeze Island, intent on revisiting what they'd discovered there; there were new crew members after all (in fact, the crew was almost completely different at this point), so there was more than enough justification for it. It would take some time reaching it, but the ship's supplies were well stocked so that wouldn't be an issue at all.

That wasn't the only change, however. The crew had since elected a new captain, and as such, this voyage was a proving grounds for the new status quo.

[Studying abroad...but surely studying abroad ~~though really the only place he could study abroad is in Strahta since everyone's still at war with Fendel and what is having more than three countries on Ephinea~~ would be much less dangerous than this?]

If you had to choose between staying here to explore and going home, you'd go home, right?

[Given Asbel's penchant for wandering around Lhant and outside of it, not to mention Asbel's expressed wish to become a knight of Windor, Hubert fears that now that his brother is away from Lhant...he'd never want to return. (Never mind that Asbel has just expressed reassurances that they'd find a way home.)]

I... [Asbel wasn't expecting a question like this. He's never really stopped to think about it, either. He always figured they'd eventually find their way back home one way or another. But a choice?]

[He wouldn't have to become the next lord if he stayed here. He could do whatever he wanted, and once he's older, he could get his own ship and hire his own crew. They could become sea knights...since pirates aren't exactly honorable, and he doesn't want to go around making other people miserable and afraid all the time. He'd rather do something to help them out!]

[But staying here also means not seeing his friends or family again, and he's not okay with that. He'd be breaking his promise to take care of Sophie - she might never remember who she is, and Dad might take her to the authorities after all. And he knows Hubert would want to go home. Also...he can't become a true knight without a king to serve.]

Of course I'd go home! I did promise Sophie I'd help find her parents. And besides, I still haven't given up on entering the knight academy one day.
