Lee was long gone now. She pushed at the baseball cap on her head, scratching her forehead that way.]
I...I don't know.
[Her battle is likely one she cannot win, and she's been left on her own to it. She hasn't been able to trust anyone in a long while.]

The way you look around is a like that of a warrior who had been through painful battles, my dear.
[He cannot imagine what kind of world she comes from, though he is certain it is harsher even than the war-torn one he comes from. At least there, children aren't thurst directly into those harsh fires.]
I sleep with, at the very least, a dagger at my side and my sword in my room. When I sit, and when I bow, I am always positioned in such a way that I can draw my weapon. There is always a part of me that looks around for a threat. Do you feel something like that?
no subject
I wish I had a weapon, yeah.
[Clementine glances around again and then sits down too. She's ready to get up at a moment's notice.]
I haven't had one in awhile. I had a pocket knife but I broke it before I came here. It's not really battles but it's just...
[It's almost like a war, but it isn't at the same time.]
When you come across someone, it used to be okay. Now it's not...not safe. I lost my group. It isn't just the walkers anymore, but the people too.
[It isn't hard in that hellish place to lose faith in humanity.]

[In truth, Mitsuhide is not quite sure how to handle this talk. Who is he to assess anyone's situation when it is so far removed from anything he's ever known? One encounter with shuffling corpses could not prepare one for an entire world of them, after all. Even the human aspect of it is not one he can understand fully.]
We can find a suitable knife or dagger for you on board. I have several fine ones myself.
[They serves as good defensive weapons even for the very inexperienced, after all. He pauses for a few moments, and then raises his head and offers the kindest smile he can manage.]
And perhaps offer something of a break from the horrors you know in your world? I know that Hajime is still determined to find this 'Santa' figure.
no subject
I can win because I'm smarter then they are. They can't think like I can. I'm faster too.
[Clementine wishes she could say she's inexperienced, but she really isn't.]
I don't think Santa really exists. If he does, he probably got eaten by walker too. He never came for me at home.

[The atmosphere is heavy, and for good reason. Mitsuhide feels a little helpless about what to do to best help this young woman. All he can do is offer his kindness, at this point.]
Perhaps in your world, but maybe he does here. This world is full of magic and the unexpected; it is a place where strange winged creatures exist that steal one's left socks, after all. I was quite unable to get the ones that were taken from me back.
[And then, for just a moment, Mitsuhide looks sheepish.]
It was too quick.
no subject
Maybe. I don't remember all that much from being here before. I wish I did.

[They can't help Clementine in her own world, but at the very least they can do something about making her tasks back there easier.]

[She sighs a little.]
I forget a lot of things I shouldn't, maybe. It's been a long time to me since everything changed. I still miss Lee.
[Clementine looks up at him.]
Well, I did learn a few things. I can make a fire, I learned to read properly and I stitched up my arm myself.
[It wasn't a very good job, but it was passable.]

[It's never been one of his strong points.
[When Clementine mentions her new skills, however, he has to smile a little. It's a sad smile, but a smile nonetheless.]
Well done; those are all useful skills to possess. Being able to tend to your own wounds is an especially precious skill that not all care to learn.
[It's a bit of a daunting one, after all.]
Try not to worry about what you have forgotten. We are human, after all. Some things slip from our mind no matter what we do, especially when we are trying to survive.

[She frowns a little at the memory, her hand balling up into a fist.]
I'm not too worried about it, I don't think so at least.
no subject
[His gaze shifts to Clementine's hand for a moment, before returning to one of the pool of water.]
Be proud of yourself, my dear. You have shouldered a burden few of any age could carry.

[Mitsuhide closes his eyes. Everyone in his own land was in the same situation in the most basic sense, dealing with war and everything that is brought. Most could not face it with any kind of spirit (Mitsuhide amongst them, in his own opinion).]
This I promise you.
I'm sorry. I had a few days of being a real slacker there.
[She isn't sure what to think about her spirit or much else really. That's not the kind of thing she considers, mostly she thinks about living another day. The only thing about this place is that it's a break of a sort. It isn't hard to get what she needs here, and yet she can't help but worry about that time ending.
Clementine isn't really sure what to tell Mitsuhide. His world probably has its own problems and her problems were just that. This dream might end and she would be back in that shed. Maybe it is just a dream, brought on by a fever from her arm. She rests her hand on it absently as she considers that.]
You have no need to, believe me.
[There are some cruel worlds out there, and unsettlng fates. All he can do for Clementine is help her with any preparations she might need and offer her the chance to hone her skills.]
[It makes him feel a little helpless, but so be it. This is life, isn't it?]
