Who: Crew of the Shepherd + anyone who would be around
What: I want caaaandy!
Where: The ship and all around (catch-all event thread)
When: 9th onward
The Shepherds had picked up several new crew members in recent days, but it seemed that the world they were now in had seen fit to share with them another new addition: the presence of bowls of heart shaped candy strewn about the ship.
It seemed shenanigans were about to be afoot.

"I simply wanted to spend the day with you and Rikka both!"
Once she made some preparations anyway. She needed to find a way to slip off and get the flowers ready...
Her eyes darted to the candy bowl for a moment.
"Do you know where that candy came from, incidentally?"

Then she blinked at Alice's question.
"Ah... no idea. I guess someone else set it out...?"

Absently, then, she popped another heart in her mouth, and looked back at Mana.
Suddenly, there was another pull in her mind, and her eyes went wide with realization. That sensation of having something dictate her will, even if in a much more gentle manner, twisted her stomach upon realizing it. She found herself drawn even closer towards Mana, before... Something in her mind yelled loud enough to override it and push herself back, breaking her contact with the pink haired Cure. Alice clamped a hand over her own mouth, even as everything she felt drove her to do far from otherwise.
It was ... not a bad thing, and may have even been something on her mind, but... She didn't want that out of her own control, did she?

"Alice? What's wrong? Are you okay...? You can tell me anything, you know that right?"
Her hand reached up to cup Alice's cheek.
"I'm here for you...!"

"M- Mana, I think there may be something funny about that candy...!" she blurted out. "It may be why I suddenly hugged you, a- and I think it wants me to do other things!"
To say she sounded a little alarmed would be putting it mildly.

Blink.
"Oh..."
Mana's face turned red. "Um....! That's... I mean, that's okay! I don't mind, I-"
Wait. The gears slowly turned, and a realization hit Mana, causing her to turn serious.
"I understand, Alice," she said. "I won't... I won't let someone or something force you to do something!"
no subject
"Except I do want-"
She stopped talking almost as soon as she began. That urge to just surge forward still remained, and in spite of her trying her best to reign her in, she still found herself at least inching towards Mana the whole while. Her hand, though, still stayed firmly over her mouth.
"I- it is merely... this was not what I intended- with everything that has happened, I wanted it by... my own choice..."
She gulped, her brain sort of at war with herself. It was still something she wanted, right? Yet something else drawing her actions to it somehow bothered her. She was torn, and just sort of looked at Mana, a confused look dancing in her eyes.
"...except... if it's with this... Mana, I'm- I'm not sure what to do..."
no subject
"Alice... there's nothing but me making me want to do this..."
Well, the hugging her thing was probably the candy. But not what she was about to do. Mana hoped Alice got the gist of what she was saying.
Because she drew closer to kiss the other girl.

She threw her arms around Mana's neck, leaning against her and kissing her back firmly. For that moment and several more after, she just let herself enjoy the feelings forth inside her. It was something she had very much wanted to do with the both of them for awhile, but between all of the very terrible things that had happened, and worry over pushing either of them too fast... It was something they hadn't quite reached.
In the moment, it almost seemed silly to her in retrospect that she would have worried about it, as much as they had been through. As much as they had all said.
Even if this wasn't exactly how she had planned things, this felt like it was okay. And the feeling of Mana's lips against hers was... nice. She could get used to it, for certain.

Unfortunately, she was still required to come up for air.
Mana broke the kiss, and pulled back, breathing a bit heavily. "That was nice," she said, with a quiet smile.

Yet at the same time, something she wouldn't mind repeating. The butterflies in her stomach were quite active, but she smiled all the same through her blush.
"...M- Mana... I..." A small laugh slipped out. "Thank you. It... was, I just... would not have wanted my first kiss from you to be... beyond my own control..."
Or her first kiss period. The realization of that sent the butterflies into overdrive, and she pulled Mana back into a hug. Much more gently this time, though.
no subject
"I understand, Alice," she said, quietly. "You don't need to thank me, either. I love you... and my love is always there for you, in whatever way you want it..."
no subject
She gave a happy sigh, resting her head against Mana's hand gratefully. "And I realize there is little reason for any of us to hold such things back anymore... if anything, we... have all the more reason to embrace them..." Another giggle escaped her. "I love you, too. But even if you say I do not need to say it, I am still thankful for both of you. So... Happy Valentine's Day, Mana."
no subject
And she's going to lean forward and kiss Alice again, this time more briefly.
"Speaking of all of us," she said, after pulling away, "Maybe we should find Rikka..."
no subject
Her eyes widened. Oh. The flowers. She had to arrange them and get them together and delivered and... If she went off with Mana now, she was fairly certain she wouldn't be getting much work done after all that.
Ears burning, she takes a step back from Mana and smiles sheepishly. "I- I would love to, Mana, but... I will have to join the both of you a little later... There is one more thing I need to take care of, first..."
Leaving right then and there was the last thing she wanted to do, but if she didn't... Well, it wouldn't get done. She was certain of this.
no subject
"I understand!" she exclaimed. "Don't worry about it! As long as we can all meet up later, there's no problem!"
no subject
Because even with the candy's effects worn off, she really was not going to do that if she didn't force herself to, at this point.
"I- I will see you... in a little while then, Mana!" she blurted out, far louder than she meant to, before making herself turn around and... retreat elsewhere in the ship without looking back, lest she go running right back into Mana's arms.

She really was pretty lucky, wasn't she?
