The Shepherds had picked up several new crew members in recent days, but it seemed that the world they were now in had seen fit to share with them another new addition: the presence of bowls of heart shaped candy strewn about the ship.

It seemed shenanigans were about to be afoot.

I... see. It's because of feeling like that that I love to sing in the first place. If it reached you, then... I'm glad.

Ah... [She heard that, huh? Whoops.] Well... I first became an idol because... I really wanted to reach someone, in any way I could. I thought that by singing, maybe I could. The lyrics kind of sound like what I wanted to say back then.

Well.... well this was just awkward now. "It reached her through me, Makopi!" She couldn't say that. Not yet. ]

[ ...Just going to grab one of those candies and pop it in her mouth. Something to distract herself with. Oh noes. ]

Yes, that's right. After we were separated when going to the Trump Kingdom, I wasn't sure what to do. But... she always loved my singing. So I thought maybe that would work.

It... probably sounds silly when I put it like that, huh?

[ Regina shook her head at that. ]

It doesn't sound silly at all!

[ She didn't have much else to add, no more words of encouragement - anything else she'd say would give too much away, hurt Makoto too much.

But she did feel the urge to do something else. Regina moved towards Makoto, taking one of the other girl's hands in hers.

Comforting? Friendly? Or too forward? It wasn't exactly Regina's decision, though... not that she knew that. ]

[Makoto's eyes widened as Regina took her hands. For a moment, she couldn't do anything but stare. It was... strange, so strange, to see Regina of all people be affectionate like this. Towards someone that wasn't Mana, even. At first, she's not really sure how to react.

Then, she smiled gently at Regina.]

I'm... glad. Hearing that makes me feel a little better about it. Thank you.

[ Seeing Makoto's smile, Regina returned it, giving a hesitant smile back. ]

Your singing reaches tons of people. [ Even the princess, in a way. ] And you always seem really happy when you sing, too! So I know you enjoy it, too.

I do. Ah... Though I didn't really know that for a long time myself. No, rather... I forgot. I actually almost quit singing not long before I got here. But I decided against it in the end.

I'm glad you didn't! I enjoy your singing.

[ Regina takes this moment to disentangled their hands, now that Makoto seems to be feeling better. And the strange compulsion is gone too, she guesses. ]

[Oh, Regina let go. Good, things are a little less awkward now. Emphasis on little, because everything about this situation still screams awkward anyway.

Though there is some improvement.]

Maybe I'll get a chance to sing for everyone on the ship soon.

Pirate ships are supposed to have musicians, you know! [ Regina says this as if she's a pirate expert. All she did was watch some pirate anime, though. ]
