The Shepherds had picked up several new crew members in recent days, but it seemed that the world they were now in had seen fit to share with them another new addition: the presence of bowls of heart shaped candy strewn about the ship.

It seemed shenanigans were about to be afoot.

Hubert nodded with a smile. Mana's omurice was different from his mom', but just as delicious! "Okay, sure!"

Then he noticed the bowl of candies nearby. "What are those...?"

Mana blinked. "Oh... it's valentine's candy," Mana replied. "Someone set them out for everyone!"

"Valentine's? What's that?"

Mana blinked.

"Oh, well... it's basically a day where... couples do stuff that are romantic for each other!" she replied. "Or in Japan's case, girls give boys treats and stuff. It's also got smaller things where people share candy and cards to show friendship and appreciation!"

A holiday about friendship? That sounded like something Asbel would be interested in. Hubert walks over to peek at the candies. These candies look too girly for Asbel to like, though...

A faint twinge of something compels him to reach for the candies, but just as quickly Hubert pulls back. Something about them seems suspicious, and besides, he still has to eat breakfast. Candy is for dessert and can wait for later.

Blink blink some more.

"Hubert? What's wrong?" she asked, not sure what to make of the boy's behavior.

"Huh? Oh, n-nothing." He shakes his head. "It's just that I really should eat breakfast first..."
