To the musical catfish island

Where: Musical Catfish Island
When: 24th - 27th February
What: Exploring an island nearby. When you have a bunch on inexperienced people, best to stay to islands a day or so away.

[Musa had thought maybe it would be best that until they can either get more people or they actually find more people who know how to work a ship that it would be for the best that they stick to islands close to the main one.

At least it didn't sound like a bad island at least.]

"We all have those kind of questions, that i totally get and it's annoying we don't get the answers right away. But we very rarely get those answers right away. With hard work and working together, we'll eventually be able to figure it out."

She looked forward, her eyes wondering.

[mithrarin]

"And if the final battle is something only I can do myself, like last time?"

Well, by himself he meant 'himself, Ahrah, and Fidget', but the sentiment remained.

"We won't know that till it happens, but since they seem to bring many people, I doubt it will be a case of only one person. Otherwise brining people would be pointless."

She couldn't think of it in any other way honestly.

[mithrarin]

Dust chuckled a little. "Numbers never bothered me. I'd rather no one else got hurt, if I was given the choice."

[melodyssong]

"I agree with you with that. I would want to protect as many people as I could." She said as she continued to look out at the ocean her thought were towards her friends more than anything.

[mithrarin]

"That's my purpose. Protection. And justice. A blade honed by experience, and tempered by compassion..." Dust trailed off, but he'd been mostly speaking to himself anyway, weighing the balance of the two souls within him.

[melodyssong]

She leant back slightly, looking up towards the sky. "I guess here your purpose might not end up being the same. But you know maybe you'll be able to find a new one or at least find something. Then again for all we know your purpose could end up being the same here, we just journey to find out."

[mithrarin]

"It has to be my purpose," Dust insisted. "It's the reason I exist. Literally! Protection -- and vengeance. But there are no Moonbloods here to avenge..."

[melodyssong]

"Yes, but what may seem like justice and vengeance the people in this world will think the exact opposite. Its pretty impossible to help them and when you try and will bite you in the butt later on. Believe me on that."

[mithrarin]

"What other people think doesn't matter, it's doing what needs to be done that counts!" Dust snapped, his hand tightening reflexively on Ahrah's hilt. "But what exactly do you mean? Which people?"

[melodyssong]

"I said the natives, basically. Some might not appreciate it, but maybe we'll find an island that would pay for you to kill someone. It ultimately depends on where we end up." She honestly didn't really want to talk about killing people, mostly because there are better ways to deal justice than killing them. That is quick and possibly painless how does that even start to be considered justice.

Sure they could have killed someone but having the possibility of forever suffering seemed like a much better idea than a quick one.

"Pay?"

Dust faced her for a moment in silence before he reached up to tug the brim of his hat down a little, uncomfortably.

"I'm not sure what idea you've gotten, but you don't understand. When I say I exist for justice, for vengeance, I'm speaking literally. That is what I am. A tool, a weapon. If I'm here, that means I'm needed... somewhere."

[melodyssong]

"Well this world is big and I'm sure there is plenty of that on the islands we'll visit. So I guess you can do that sort of thing there and since you seem fine in not having any form of thanks it should be okay." she said as she stood up, wiping herself down.

"We may not be able to visit every single island however as there really is too many."

[mithrarin]

Dust was confused, and not really able to hide it. What did she really think he wanted, here?

"So long as we visit the one that matters, eventually..." He turned away, hunching up slightly. "Some things, all the thanks you need is knowing you did what you could... what needed to be done."

[melodyssong]

"Yeah, we wouldn't know which ones those were until we got there, so it's just about luck." She stretched her arms in the air, making sure her muscle don't get tired by simply sitting for long periods.

"I can totally understand that. Part of helping people is to be selfless after all and only doing things just to get that isn't selfless at all, I suppose. It's the helping that matters."

[mithrarin]

"Justice. And vengeance." In Dust's mind, that was everything Musa had said, much more simply summed up. "The strength to fight, and the compassion to know why."

[melodyssong]

She smiled politely more than anything as she leant back slightly. "I guess that sums it up nicely." With that she stretched "I'm going to head abck to the ship soon, you coming?"

[mithrarin]

"I suppose I'm accomplishing nothing just sitting here," Dust said. He leaned back, then flipped up to his feet lightly, barely showing signs of the effort. "And I'm not satisfied with what I know yet."

[melodyssong]

"Give it time. This learning thing isn't something that will happen over night or anything. You'll be satisfied eventually. Maybe." She said as she had started to make her way back towards the ship, leaving the singing catfish singing for the meantime.

[mithrarin]

"I'll be satisfied when I'm sure I can sail the ship. Until that point, I'll just feel helpless." And Dust couldn't stand feeling helpless, not when doing things was so core to his mind and souls.

[melodyssong]

"We all do, I mean being thrown into a situation so suddenly and without a lot of explanation as to what we are suppose to do and why exactly. Which would be cool, but nope, won't say. Kind of annoying actually." She crossed her arms for a moment.

"You'll get the hang of it eventually though, I did and I've been here for months now."

[mithrarin]

"It wouldn't be the first time, for me. Except last time I had a magic sword show up and start talking to me, instead of a magic journal." Dust chuckled a little. "Maybe I'll collect a talking item every time I'm reborn."

[melodyssong]

She couldn't help but laugh a little bit at that. "Maybe next time it will be a magical clam or something." It may seem like a joke but who even knows what could happen next.

[mithrarin]

Joke or not, Dust laughed. "That would be a little inconvenient. I'd prefer something with a little utility."

[melodyssong]

"You mean like a magical mirror or something? Those could be pretty useful to some people."

[mithrarin]

"The journal works like that a little, at least for communicating. An object that could show me other places, though... that might be handy."

[melodyssong]

"Like a map, but better?" She asked, raising an eyebrow slightly.

[mithrarin]

"More like a magic mirror, the kind they have in fairly tales. Look into it and it's like looking into a window that opens out onto wherever you want to see." Dust shook his head, despite his smile. He wasn't sure what he could use that for, but it would be interesting.

[melodyssong]

"Ah, I see. I'd know a few people who would love something like that." She said letting out a chuckle, glancing over towards the direction of the ship. "Well, it was nice chilling with you, but as captain I have work to do and to plan what to do next."
