[Log || 002] Setting sail!

What: Learning how to sail this thing, meeting each other, prepping for Navy battles!

So you were actually already a pirate?

[he's happy to hang out and look cool, because man, he gets to sail with talking turtles and a dragon, how cool is that?]

Yep! I guess you could say former pirate, but really, it's not like you can ever really stop being a pirate at heart. It's in the blood.

You don't really look like a pirate, though. I mean, the ones that come to mind. Like from the movies and stuff. You don't have a hat.

[And pirate hats are clearly important, okay.]

The hell would I need a hat for? I've got my feathers! [points]

Compared to my men I'm outright flamboyant, I dunno what you're talkin' about.

[Right...feathers...]

Yeah, but dude, they're supposed to be in a hat—never mind. [Eye roll.] Are you the pillaging and plundering type of pirate?

Used to be. These days I take more to pillaging enemy armies than innocent bystanders.

Entire armies? [Because that sounds awesome.] How many people are on your crew?

Eh, I don't got a crew anymore. All my guys were absorbed into the Wu army when I joined up. There's lots of officers, though, if that's what you want to know.

Back in the day I used to sail with at least twenty guys at a time. Most I ever had was close to fifty, but it's hard to keep order in a crew that size.

[Fifty? Geez.]

Yeah, I don't think I could manage it. Sometimes just putting up with my brothers is annoying enough, and there are only three of them. But these other guys seem cool.

Heh! Your brothers are decent guys. Remind me of some my friends. Looks like you rounded up a pretty good crew, here.

Dude, you have no idea. They can be such a pain.

[He's grinning, though. It's way better having them here than being here on his own. That was a weird month, even though he'd at least gotten to meet Gaius and Hiccup.]

It's a crew with a dragon, man. I don't know what other ships are out there, but I think we're probably the best one by default.

I know! How the hell'd you get a dragon? A real one! I think I'm gonna like hangin' around you guys.

He came with the Viking kid! Hiccup. Have you met him yet? He's pretty much the skinniest Viking I've ever met.

Oh, the kid? Damn. A kid who owns a real dragon. Now I've seen everything.

Apparently his world is full of them.

Uh... [scratches the side of his head.] Someone who -- actually, I think they're not that different from pirates. Just from a different time period and area. But they're these dudes who use to sail around in ships and burn villages or something. Big, hulking guys. You know.

[Curls his arms in front of himself and flexes, like he's trying to demonstrate.]

...Maybe you should ask Donnie, though. He's the one who knows things.

Uh huh. Yeah, no, just sounds like run of the mill ruffians to me. Oh well, you learn somethin' new every day. Maybe I will, if I can get him to shut up about buildin' things for five minutes.
