high_seas | INTRO LOG: APRIL 2014

WELCOME NEW CHARACTERS!
Have an intro log for the month of April!

Who: Any and all new characters, as well as anyone hanging out on or around Isla Empieza!
Where: Near the fountain in the town center.
When: New characters will arrive around April 9th! The log is good for as long as you need it.
What: You've just been dropped on your head in a weird new world. Time to figure out what the heck is going on!
Status: VERY OPEN.

The day begins gray and drizzly, the miserable sort of rain that just makes everything muddy and unpleasant. Just the luck of the locals of Isla Empieza that these April showers bring more outsiders instead of May flowers. As the day goes by, the rain gets heavier and the locals get surlier. Lucky for you you have that message in your journals telling you to get moving and find a crew, huh?

Feel free to throw your characters here if you need a place for them to get situated and start figuring things out! Start new threads, tag into others, meet the people who might just become part of your crew! Older characters will be in and out, too, depending who is on the island at the current time.

Not that I've seen. Doesn't mean there aren't any, though.

Well, yeah, that could be said anywhere. I keep hopin' some distant cousins exist out there, somewhere. Even if they're not from my Earth.

*Faye glances around the room and steps slightly closer to him, lowering her voice*

Is that really something you should be announcing in a room full of guys that apparently don't like you?

[He just gives her a small shrug.]

It doesn't matter. I'm on the lunar upswing, these guys couldn't hurt me if they wanted to.

*Faye glances around the room again, just in case. Not that she was one to talk about being modest. She finishes off her food for now and licks her lips*

Maybe now I'm not dying of starvation I might be able to find a crew.

Got all types. I like a small crew, myself. Bein' stuck in close proximity with lots of people isn't how I roll.

Urgh, no way.

*She glances towards the door, thinking about the ships she had seen outside*

The ships all that ancient? I mean, I can get my own room, someone to cook for me, and a hot shower, right?

*Cause otherwise, she is totally not going to be doing this*

They're all pretty old tech. This whole region seems to be. I can't speak for every ship, but I know space is pretty tight on mine.

No kidding.

*She waves around her journal, looking quite exasperated at it*

I mean, who uses books anymore? For anything?

...without video I'm at a big disadvantage.

Why a disadvantage? At least they record audio, so that's a little easier.

*Faye just blinks at him - it's very obvious to her, how her looks are often used to get her what she wants*

*Faye gives him a knowing look, but plays along*

*Faye holds out a hand daintily, though her flirting is much less than it would be, considering he's only 16. Still, she gives a smile*

Faye Valentine. Haven't you heard of me?

...Why would I have heard of you?

[He stares at her hand for a moment, then grabs it and gives a few quick pumps.]

Akira Inugami. You don't look much like a "Valentine."

Oh, no real reason. I'm just...rather well-known where I'm from.

*She gives an extravagant wave of her hand, but frowns almost immediately*

Huh?! What is that supposed to mean?

Well, we're possibly from different universes, so I wouldn't count on having a reputation people know.

Not exactly an ethnically Asian name, is it?

*Faye makes a note of that - if that's true, then lying about herself is going to be a hell of a lot easier*

No. It isn't. What of it?

Maybe. I'm not an astro-physicist, but I have seen a lot of movies and I try to stay educated on a lot of things. Davy Jones yanks us in from all over the place. There are people here with crazy powers, people here who aren't even close to human, you name it. I can tell just from the star formations that this sure as Hell isn't Earth.

Nothin', really. I was just curious.

Huh. And it sure doesn't look like any planet or moon I've been to.

*And she's travelled through the solar system a few times*

When it comes to meeting a beautiful woman, you should keep your curiosity to yourself. Least the first time you meet. We've got to have some mystery to keep us exciting, right?

I was originally wary that I might not be able to use the moon here, but I've since managed to prove that fear unwarranted. Good thing, too. You'll need every bit of offensive power you can muster once you see the rough side of this place.

I prefer to stay out of that, entirely. Relationships with people are troublesome.

Oh, I don't need to worry about any moon for my offensive power.

*And she taps very vaguely at the holster on her thigh. She grins at him though and gives a playful nudge*

Aww, get the kid. I didn't say anything about any 'relationships'. But hey, you're only young.
