INTRO LOG: APRIL 2014

WELCOME NEW CHARACTERS!
Have an intro log for the month of April!

Who: Any and all new characters, as well as anyone hanging out on or around Isla Empieza!
Where: Near the fountain in the town center.
When: New characters will arrive around April 9th! The log is good for as long as you need it.
What: You've just been dropped on your head in a weird new world. Time to figure out what the heck is going on!
Status: VERY OPEN.

The day begins gray and drizzly, the miserable sort of rain that just makes everything muddy and unpleasant. Just the luck of the locals of Isla Empieza that these April showers bring more outsiders instead of May flowers. As the day goes by, the rain gets heavier and the locals get surlier. Lucky for you you have that message in your journals telling you to get moving and find a crew, huh?

Feel free to throw your characters here if you need a place for them to get situated and start figuring things out! Start new threads, tag into others, meet the people who might just become part of your crew! Older characters will be in and out, too, depending who is on the island at the current time.

[A talking turtle. No, no he hasn't, not yet.]

Ugh-- [He picks himself up, dusting off his pants... ugh, they're wet now.] Least y'can tell that it ain't normal to just stroll up an' see a turtle in yer way.

[She murmurs.] Gotta be cursed...

Cursed? Nah, just a mutant. [Grins.] Once upon a time I was a normal-sized turtle, I guess.

[Peers at her.]

So I'm guessing you're one of the new ones this month?

Had no idea about there bein' any mutant turtles existin', so... yeah. Pretty new. [it's like something out of a comic book, seriously]

People seem to turn up here every month, that's what I meant. From all sorts of weird places. Something about pirate ghosts and magical voodoo shards, who knows. I've only been here about two months, myself.

[Which to him, sounds completely crazy, but he saw the word "wish" and that was all that mattered to him. Could be worth it!]

This ruby or whatever it is must be pretty damn important then. Heh, it's interestin'. I definitely wanna get a glimpse of it myself.

You and everyone else on this rock, sister. Apparently it's what's going to get us home, so everyone wants it.

Anyway. [Juts a thumb at his chest.] The name's Raphael.

Ranma Saotome. It ain't as easy as usin' the wish an' then tryin' to find my way back, huh?

[damn.] So regardless, you're gonna be stuck a mutant even after this, huh?

If we could get back just by finding a way, people would've done it by now. Definitely not that easy.

[...He arches his brow at that last bit.]

Dude. Or—dudette. I've been a mutant my whole life, nothing "stuck" about it. [Complete with air quotes.] If I wasn't one I'd just be a normal turtle and then I wouldn't be able to do awesome ninja stuff.

[So he's planning on going back like that? Seriously, seriously weird.]

Wait-- Ninja stuff? [That'd explain the mask, but.] Yer really a ninja?

[Blinks, then gives her a wide grin.]

Heck yeah, of course I am. Bet you've never seen a real ninja before, huh?

Only fake ninjas. I'm pretty sure ninjas're kinda outdated where I'm from.

[no offense, sasuke "i don't exist in the manga" sarugakure]

Eh, they might even be kind of outdated where I'm from. Sort of. I mean, they were, but my sensei taught us the art of ninjutsu anyway. And then New York City kind of got overrun by them, sooo... But they're all from the same clan. From Japan.

In New York? [Okay, this sounds like something out of a movie, for real.]

How dedicated's a guy gotta be to send ninja to America?

You've heard of it? [Hey, cool. A lot of people he's met here haven't.] But yeah, I don't know, it's this dude with a personal vendetta against Splinter -- my sensei. He's got ninja and mutants and everything else working for him.

Never been, but yeah. It's some big city in America, ain't it? [Oh, of course.]

One'a those guys. Revenge to the ends of the Earth, guys without a life. Stuff like that.

Yup. Pretty big. We live under it, though, the humans above get kinda freaked out whenever they see us.

[For some weird reason.]

Annnd yeah. Uh-huh. One of them. Then on top of all that we got aliens and stuff to deal with... New York's kinda crazy these days.
