INTRO LOG: APRIL 2014

WELCOME NEW CHARACTERS!
Have an intro log for the month of April!

Who: Any and all new characters, as well as anyone hanging out on or around Isla Empieza!
Where: Near the fountain in the town center.
When: New characters will arrive around April 9th! The log is good for as long as you need it.
What: You've just been dropped on your head in a weird new world. Time to figure out what the heck is going on!
Status: VERY OPEN.

The day begins gray and drizzly, the miserable sort of rain that just makes everything muddy and unpleasant. Just the luck of the locals of Isla Empieza that these April showers bring more outsiders instead of May flowers. As the day goes by, the rain gets heavier and the locals get surlier. Lucky for you you have that message in your journals telling you to get moving and find a crew, huh?

Feel free to throw your characters here if you need a place for them to get situated and start figuring things out! Start new threads, tag into others, meet the people who might just become part of your crew! Older characters will be in and out, too, depending who is on the island at the current time.

Well it's... [except the fact that he has to explain it at all tells him she has no idea what they are and--considering he's not seen any of the sailors wearing one, they might not have use for them in this part of the sea. He rubs his head.]

Are you a native?

[Now, don't break her delusions just yet. She seems innocent enough, if a bit skeptical at his diversions--but she'll come back to it eventually.]

If I was, I wouldn't be talking to you in the first place, now would I? [She narrows her eyes and brings the subject back.] Is this log pose thing important? I could probably get one for you!

Chill. It's not important. [though said in the same calm way he said pretty much everything.] If it was needed, you would know.

[her logic is a bit faulty, he finds, but]

Would you care to explain what you can, miss?

[Chill? Codi is the epitome of chill. Just look at how she rocks between her legs in an attempt not to start bouncing from nervous energy. Completely composed.]

Whatever you say. [She holds up her hands in passive resignation.] I'm here for you, after all. What questions do you have that need explaining?

Yes, you. [Codi would tap him on the nose, if she could reach. She settles instead for jabbing him in the leg.] As head of the Welcome Committee, it's my job to make sure you newcomers are well-informed! So I guess I'll start with the basics--have you checked your journal lately?

Yes. I've read the message by ah... [flips it open] Scurvey Dog. Surely there isn't supposed to be an "e" there.

[that is going to make him twitch whenever he looks at it]

It's not as entirely informative as it seems.

[Someone's pedantic. Not that Codi can say anything, given how her first conversation with Dog turned out. She'd rather not remind herself of that.]

You're right! And that's what I'm around for. [She gestures at his journal--may try to tap it, but if he's holding it above her head then she's going to run into problems again.] Have you seen the most recent page? The new messages that turn up?
