"Uh...maybe we shouldn't talk about hobbies, since I'm not going to be doing any of those things." He did appreciate her...interesting ideas. "I'd rather do something more...quiet."
He spotted a small group of flowers and slowed his pace. "Maybe I could go back to flower arrangement."
"Oh..." Personally, she thought her ideas had been pretty good. She looked over to the group of flowers that Aya had seen - they were quite beautiful in the glow of the forest. She smiled and nodded, pleased to hear that there was something that he'd thought of, "That's a good idea."
The flower was a a blue hue, which was enhanced by the glow of the forest. He walked to it and bends down once he was near enough. It may be poisonous, so he doesn't touch it at first.
"Or study plants more. Most of the ones I know are only a drop in the bucket."
Selphie stood and watched him as he kneeled by the flowers, looking at him and hearing how he spoke about flowers. It was nice to hear him talking about something he liked, and it still amused her that he was interested in flowers and plants. So she just stood there, smiling fondly at him, "You could study on the ship, then check out the plants when we get to a new island."
When he noticed that Selphie wasn't next to him, Aya turned and gave her a sheepish smile at first before standing. "Good idea. Maybe I'll start with this one. If we can find more, I can take it on board and study it."
And since Naesala knew about this place, he might know more about the plants.
As soon as Aya stood, Selphie was there right in front of him. She reached her arms around hin in a hug, then leaned up to kiss him lightly a couple of times on the lips, "That's a great idea! We just need to find more flowers!"
Selphie giggled at his comment, and at just how generally adorable he could be. She seemed pleased, too, that her affection isn't disliked or ignored. "If you've found yourself a Selphie flower, I should hope that it's your favourite!"
She closed her eyes at the kiss, her hands holding onto his back as she returned the gesture tenderly.
The kiss became what he had hoped: not full of awkward teeth clashing, and very much reciprocated warmly. Eventually, he did pull away, but kept close, chuckling.
That's a good thing! Selphie was certainly getting more used to the fact that Aya wasn't going to push her away from a kiss. In fact, he seemed to actually enjoy them.
"Not just because, hmm? Well, at least being nice to look at is one reason! Just so long as you don't go around kissing all of the flowers that you like..."
Aya laughed softly and glanced back to the flower he found earlier briefly. "I can guarantee that I won't." He gave her forehead a light kiss. "Want to keep walking?"
"Then I'll happily take your word for it!" She brightens at the kiss on her forehead, looking very much happy and peaceful indeed. "You wanna keep walking? Find some more flowers? Or should we turn in for the night?"
"Sure!" She turned and looked further into the forest, pointing slightly ahead in the distance, "I think there are more flowers there." So she took his hand, lacing her fingers with his, and started walking along again, looking up at the sound of more owls.
"I guess we're in the wrong crew if we want peace all the time." But she said it with a smile, because she's very fond of her crew. For the most part. Besides, Selphie knows that peace all the time isn't really what she wants.
When they got to the flowers, Selphie knelt down, taking more of an interest instead of just staring at Aya this time. "These are nice!"
"Exactly. We may as well sail with that other crew...what's their name again...the Friend Ship?"
He thought the name was stupid, and incredibly telling of their crew.
They found more flowers from earlier and he knelt next to view them closer. "If we take them back with us, we'd have to return quickly, so they can get in some water."
"Oh yeah!" Selphie giggled at the thought, "I'm surprised you didn't wanna jump crews straight away after hearing about that one. Think of all the fun friendship stuff they'll be doing all the time." She looked up at him with a wink, sticking out her tongue at him.
Selphie leaned even closer to the flowers, trying to smell them without falling face first into them, which is in danger of doing. "What about getting some water from here too? It's kinda different. Really refreshing. Think the flowers would like that?"
"Don't even joke like that." Aya may have paled a bit at that. Maybe.
He couldn't resist pressing a finger into her shoulder blade gently, slowly easing her forward while she smells the flower. Of course, he would catch her before she would lose her balance completely.
"Maybe Friend Ship wasn't enough for you. If it was the 'Fun and Friend Ship and Let's Cuddle and Eat Cupcakes' that would be more tempting...?"
There was quite the surprised squeal from Selphie as she came very close to flattening the flowers in front of her. Loud enough that a couple of near by birds looked at her as though she was being rude, and flew off. "Aya! I nearly squished your flowers!~"
Aya grabbed Selphie and steadied her with a grin. "Then you shouldn't make bad jokes." He stood up and offered a hand. "You had a good idea, though. Lets get some water first, then come back for them."
Selphie laughed at that and nudged into him as he steadied her, "Nothing wrong with my jokes!" She wobbled a little when he stood, but she reached up to him with both hands. "There's a lake I went to. It's kinda outta the way, but it's pretty. And has water, which is the point, I guess."
She glanced around her, trying to figure out where she is and which way to go, "But...uhm. Leanne showed me..."
He caught her other hand as she stood. "Do you think it's far from here?" He did recall seeing one close by, and was looking around for anything familiar in the dark.
"Hmm... Maybe. Let's walk along a little, and we'll see if we can hear the water. It was a pretty big lake. And warmer than I thought it was gonna be." She smiled at him, glancing down at the flowers and stepping aside to be sure that she wasn't going to stand on them by accident. "There were pink flowers there too, I remember. Real pretty ones!"
"Did you want to keep them for yourself, then?" Aya wouldn't mind. Focusing on a few flowers would be fine. Not only that, but he could always draw the flowers if need be.
He gestured for them to walk to the left, thinking that the lake could be over in that direction.

"It is. It's...nice." But it was too peaceful. "We're not staying very long, though."
