[The "tiny" bear-dog does indeed react to her name with her tail wagging and a small 'yip'. Bolin has always been her favorite, and of course Pabu is her partner in crime.
Korra finally comes around, trotting after Naga and having a pretty good idea as to why she took off. Sure enough, there's Bolin.]
Bolin!
[She picks up the pace and launches herself for a hug... rather similarly to Naga, actually.]
[ Like tamer, like polar bear-dog. Bolin really doesn't mind. This day really just gets better and better. Which is great, even though it could really only go up from yesterday morning anyway. ]
Korra! [ LET'S DO THIS, KORRA, LET'S HUG THIS OUT. Poor Avatar, weighed and slowed with the guilt of her criminal life, last to the scene... still the best hugger between herself, Mako, and Asami. He's pretty sure it's the earthbender in her. ] Well, imagine running into you out here.
[Totally the best hugger. Korra clings to Bolin's shoulders for a moment, enjoying the simple fact that he's here. They're all here! Perhaps she should feel badly, being so happy that he's stuck here...
But at the same time, it's just right for them to all be together.]
I'd have been here way sooner, but I never got a postcard. So, you know, kind of tough to arrange. But it's all good now! Team Avatar, back in action! [ The way that it should be. He's pretty much fine being stuck here for that reason, himself. If it's where the others are, it's obviously the best place for him to be stuck. He can't do much on the ocean, but togetherness is a huge deal when it comes to saving the day from evil ghost pirates and their magical gems. ] Or back in action except for most of Naga. Apparently.
I don't think anyone's figured out how to send mail between worlds, yet. I'll get the cosmos on that.
[She finally releases the bear-hug, backing slightly away at the mention of Naga.]
Yeah, I... We still don't know how that happened. I had to re-housebreak her and everything! Which isn't a problem now. [She adds that last part a bit hurriedly. No more bear-dog pee trailing all over the deck.] But at least she remembers everyone, even if we can't ride her anymore.
[Korra crouches down to scratch the pup behind her ears.]
Well, remembering everyone is what's really important, anyway. [ At least her film career's not on hold because of this. It's just on hold because the producer's a fugitive who was encouraging civil war. Whatever. At least she's smaller but still okay. If being comparatively tiny isn't hurting her, then it's more of a... charming quirk that merits being dealt with. And he doesn't even have to witness the housebreaking bonanza, which he can't say he minds. Naga-cleanup-duty is a tough one to handle.
(Pabu, of course, is pretty much just defiantly waiting to show off that he can still totally ride Naga, and will be prepared to try hopping aboard at the earliest opportunity.) Bolin plants his hands on his hips now that they are free and mobile. ]
A teammate's a teammate no matter what. So it'll take way more than some shrinking shenanigans to slow us down! You know, emotionally. We'll have to work on our actual... speed issues.
Yeah, getting around was weird for a while. I've never had to leave her behind before.
[On the ship and safe, of course, but still. Where would Korra be without her lifelong partner in crime? Though at least she and Pabu can still be best buds. The fire ferret would still easily fit on her back, if he so pleased.]
It's worked out pretty well, though. I can accelerate the ships with bending, and we've got all sorts of people with other weird powers around here.
Weird powers are the name of the game. You know, I met this guy yesterday who apparently just kind of turns into a monster during full moons? [ Like that is legitimately it. Akira tossed it on out there, gave Pabu his turkey leg, and walked off into the rainy sunset. ] I'm pretty sure people are usually quieter about becoming hideous beasts these days, but he seemed oddly okay with it.
[ Or he assumes it's hideous. Who ever turned into a gorgeous monster once a month? How would that even become a thing? ]
I do enjoy teamwork more than being captured or executed. And anyway, check out Team Avatar, right? [ Elbow nudge. That's you, Korra, you're the Avatar. And we are your team. ] Getting some real world traveling under our belts. We're, uh. Okay, pretty far out of the way of the right world, but I'm thinking it counts.
Yeah, I've got some time to make up for, I guess. That's definitely kind of new! [ He's never gone for months without seeing Mako before, even inadvertently. A few days sometimes, especially while he was sucked up in filming for Nuktuk, but never actual months. And Korra and Asami are staples in their own right by now, so. It's weird. Which he's ultimately cool to put a positive spin on. Hey, now he can put some more effort into hanging around his friends and trying to help them out with stuff, and just kind of trying to keep the piracy fun for everybody. Like it is obviously. Meant to be.
Being here now is the important thing. And he actually doesn't see how he can feel really guilty for not being around when he had no way of knowing he was absent somewhere. ]
Maybe things will just get twice as crazy now that I'm finally around for the good stuff! No need for the universe to hold back. Well, a little. Manageable craziness, you know.
That sounds really useful! [ Korra is a genius. ] Having easy access to explosives makes big battles so much easier. Goodbye Navy, hello, clean getaways!
I always wanted to try sandbending anyway. It's got a real nobility. [ Also, he wants to build a sand-Mako at some point. Maybe it's more about that than the nobility, actually, because he knows nothing about sandbending. As far as anybody knows. ] And I feel like it's much more in my area than, you know. Metalbending.

[Korra's never heard of a person with that kind of problem. Or not-problem, as Bolin seems to be putting it.]
But we're all pretty much on the same side, so there's that! We're basically just up against the Navy, out here.

It counts for something! It's just too bad you missed out on the past few months. We've seen some pretty crazy places already.
[But don't worry, Bo, there's still plenty more where that came from.]

Oh! And you need to work with me on sandbending. It's... kind of everywhere around here. And I've never really done it before.

[ SURE, he can basically only think of sandcastles right now, but that's the excitement talking. ]

[Way more efficient than firebending, really. Making things go boom is a lot harder that just burning them up.]
