I can't really help it. It's fear and it's instinctive. Ozaki-sensei said it's a Holy forest which would explain things since I'm a vampire, and pretty far from holy these days.

A vampire is a creature that was human once but they died, because of another vampire and their diet depends on the blood of humans. They can't go out in the sunlight, they sleep all day and are awake all night, they're afraid of religion and holy artifacts and places...
[Sorry Natsuno, Vyse's world is kinda weird. And even with the explanation, he's more interested than afraid of Natsuno. And will thus lean against the outside of the crow's nest and continue to ask questions.]
I've heard of a creature sort of like that...supposedly it lives underground and comes out at night to steal people to eat. It doesn't look human, though...or so I heard. It's supposed to look like a giant insect.
If I was a ghost I wouldn't be able to touch you. Vampires are little different than man eating insects. They don't generally kidnap their prey, and in fact don't have to kill them. I don't actually eat anyone, I do however drink their blood if they let me.
I tried hunting someone done before. It's not for me.

I'm mostly the same as I was when I was alive, although a lot more skilled in combat.

I am. I practice almost every day. Before I came here I couldn't fight at all. I'd never been in a fight before.
