[There were too many trees for her liking, but it wasn't necessarily a bad place to be in. She just had to be careful not to get lost. But despite all that, the temperature was comfortable enough, and she had to admit, the whole place was pretty peaceful.]
A.] She's doing a bit of exploring and comes across a bush full of berries. Nami moves closer to the point where she reaches out and picks out a piece for herself. She stares at the berry held between her fingers, thinking about whether or not to eat it.
B.] Having found a lake big and deep enough for her, Nami does what mermaids do best. Those nearby could easily hear all the splashes she's making, and if you're actually there? You can see her jumping up out of the water and diving back in.
C.] After having herself a good swim, Nami stays close to the water and decides to take it easy for a bit. With her tail dipped into the lake, she definitely feels more relaxed. Much more than she had been in recent memory.
And then... a small bird lands on her hand. Oh, and there's also a squirrel up on her shoulder.]
[Asami had talked to Korra weeks before about finding an island to swim at, and well, this one fit the criteria. The water was perfect and the aura of the place was really peaceful, so that was also a plus.
She was swimming around the lake and only moved over closer to sit herself on the edge when she finally spotted Nami taking a dive into the water. With a small smile and a raised hand, she called out to her]
Hey Nami! Did you just get here, or have you been here for a while?
[Oh, it seemed like she had some company. Having surfaced, Nami waved back at Asami and swam over to her.]
I've already been here for a bit. [Actually? It had been longer than she thought. She hadn't realized that she had lost track of the time by how much she was enjoying herself.]
[Asami had only just gotten here about 10 minutes ago, so she really hadn't had the time to take notice of anyone else until now. Not that that stopped her from smiling]
Yeah, it really does. It's a nice change from the ocean water, I think that got too cold most of the time.
[Especially at night. Luckily she never actually tried to swim in it]
I was just talking about finding an island to swim at not too long ago.
[Asami just nodded at the first part. She could have mentioned that Nami had a tail instead of feet, and scales, but didn't want to come off as sounding rude. Though she perked up a bit at the last part and pushed herself away from the edge of the lake]
I didn't come all the way down here not to. How fast can you swim?
[Being as close to water as she was, it was pretty easy for her. The poor creatures never suspected anything, and before long, were trapped inside miniature bubbles. The one holding the squirrel is popped once Nami grabs it with her hand and throws it over at Ace.]
[Kairi had been wondering about the past half hour, trying to see everything that was here and try all the things she could do. But so far she had only gone as far as wondering about. Seeing Nami however, she looked over, edging her way closer and closer, wondering just what she was doing.
Once she was close enough she paused.]
It looks like you are really studying those berries. Why is that?
[She held out her hand slightly. She certainly was no expert on berries herself, all she knew ell enough was the paopu fruit, but it really didn't hurt to try and figure it out.]
Just give me some and I'll see if I can tell you, okay?
[Hey. Hey Nami. Look over here. Hey. Are you looking? Good. Cuz Namur's kicking off the bottom of the lake and jetting as fast as he can for the surface so he can leap out of the water ridiculously high, curl himself up into a ball to do like five back flips before diving back in to the water with an impressively small splash. He is that streamlined. Oh yeah. Come on. Did you see that?
[Nami, please. He put everything he had into that first jump. But he squints up at the surface regardless. It'll be hard, but maybe if he's only focusing on height...]
Yeah, sure. Check it out.
[He circles the pond a couple times to gain speed, dives down to have enough room, then propels himself upward, climbing high and fast and reaching to clear a higher height. Of course, there's no real way to judge whether he succeeds or not, but to his perception the treeline dropped a little lower this time around, so he'll call it good. He lets himself fall backward with his arms spread wide, then brings them in to his chest quickly, creating spin, and manages three full twists before plopping back into the lake.]
What y' think? Made it! Jus' by a li'l bit, eh? How high can you jump?
[Your jumping skills have certainly not gone appreciated, Namur, as Nami is now giving you a congratulatory clap.]
Let's find out.
[She follows similar pattern, diving down, swimming around faster and faster to gain enough speed. With as much force as she can muster, she breaks through the surface and climbs up high and higher. Not quite focusing on mid-air maneuvers, Nami pulls off a lone flip at the peak of her jump before descending back into the water.]

Do you want to swim with me? I think it'd be fun.

I didn't come all the way down here not to. How fast can you swim?

[Nami was right in her element and felt pretty good about how good a swimmer she was. She could afford to have some fun and be a little cocky.]

Rather, he was looking at the bird and the squirrel.]
Oi, Nami! You gonna eat those?
no subject
Are you hungry, Ace? I can probably trap them for you.
[And thus, Nami proved that she fit right in with the Spades.]

You'd probably enjoy this more than me.
no subject
Yup.]
Ahhh, thanks. So, what're you up to, anyway?
[No one needed to discuss how awful that was.]
no subject
I was just enjoying a good swim. It's pretty peaceful over here, and the water feels good.
What about you?

And I didn't know if you could eat this kind of berry right off the bush. [She look at Kairi.]
Can you?
no subject
Just give me some and I'll see if I can tell you, okay?

[Nami picks and then hands Kairi a couple of berries. She then waits and... watches, rather intently at that.
This has now suddenly become the moment of berry truth.]
no subject
They seem perfectly edible to me.
no subject
Yeah?
[She finally eats a berry.]
It tastes better than I thought.

Right?]

Not bad, Namur!
[She's impressed. Even if you do have legs.]
Think you can make it even higher?
no subject
Yeah, sure. Check it out.

I don't usually have someone wanting to see me jump that high while I'm swimming.
