White magic, the kind of energy this island has going for it, is used by law mages.
[She puts a hand on her hip and glares at the island.]
People that want to uphold peace, maintain order. Like the Navy, or the police. White magic has other...ways you can use it, but what it boils down to is all the same. Holy power, sacred power, the power of community, society, and order. Heiromancy.
[TOTALLY SCOFFING.] I mean it feels eerie but not... Marine bad!
[Scritches his scruffy chin in thought though. What is it that calls to him? Obviously if it's just some sort of purity justice juice, Marco would completely hate it, not feel called... so...?]
[Wrong answer, buddy. Chandra stamps her foot and turns to look at him, expression suddenly angry.]
No, it's fucking White magic. It's not like the Navy isn't alive, you twit. It's just the kind of magic that an organization like them would use, if they could.
[She's had experience with such organizations before, and the way she turns to glare back at the island...well...it should make that clear. As she continues talking, the anger fades almost as quickly as it came. Just a hiccup, sorry Marco.]
Heiromancers are the kind of people the Navy would want. The magic itself isn't bad, it's the people that use it, obviously. Same for any kind of power, really. It should feel alive and call out to you. Because like I said, it's the magic of society. Community. And even if you're not down with the law thing, you're still part of a society.
[He frowns in thought. All right, she's making sense but...]
Aye... I suppose. [Community, society... structure? He'd always associated marines with death, law with death, but right, even Marco had some things he believed in.] It doesn't feel entirely like.... [What is it? The difference between this and Pops? Similar and yet...]
[He shakes his head.] Ah sorry, I don't suppose I've encountered something like this before. Are you going to be all right?
I'll be fine. I just...I know if I go over there, it'll start seeping into me. Mana comes to Planeswalkers like water to a sponge. So, it'll start...ugh...it'll start making me like that guy.
No not a marine guy. I'd have just killed a marine that pissed me off like this guy. Another Planeswalker. A Heiromancer who tried to take my magic away. [She sounds incredibly defensive at the thought, her hair beginning to spark to life.] He tried to have some of his Heiromancer friends take my spark away so they could parade me around like a trophy.
Gideon. Gideon Jura is his name. And yeah, white magic.
[She snorts.]
And I'm a Pyromancer. I use red magic, which isn't necessarily limited to fire, I just like it best. Red magic is sometimes called Anarchomancy, the power of chaos.
[That might just explain it then. He likes chaos. To a degree. Maybe not as much as Ace does, but still, complete and total order? Too placid. And he doesn't trust it.]
And if you get too close you'll become like a heiromancer?
It won't make me a heiromancer. I don't use magic for order and law. But it might...influence my spells, and maybe me a little bit. I might learn something new, like I did when I started manipulating blue mana, or it might just make my flames be different colors for a while. It's hard to say, because I haven't tapped the wellspring yet.
But I know I'll...feel...that energy. And I'm not sure I want to. Not after what Gideon and his lackeys tried to do to me.
[She rolls her eyes at him and leans over the railing, arching her back a bit.]
And, heh, sure. I may give it a go later. But right now, I don't think I feel up to dealing with it. Already off kilter enough being this close to the wellspring. Maybe once I get more ambient energy from it I'll feel less bleh.
I don't promise to stay altogether during this venture, eh.
Namur, Thatch, and Ace should be able to cover anything easily, but -- [He rubs the back of his neck and looks toward the forest.] I need to explore it.
DAT ICON IS TERRIFYING
[It can't be too off, the way Leanne went racing for it like a bat out of hell, he figures.]

[She groans.]
Law magic...

There's too much...
Life about it.

You probably haven't. It's really strong here.
[And she teeters over to the railing.]

Sounds like a marine guy though. [Arm fold and he thinks.] So that guy, the Heiromancer, they use this white magic stuff.
And you usually use what?

[She snorts.]
And I'm a Pyromancer. I use red magic, which isn't necessarily limited to fire, I just like it best. Red magic is sometimes called Anarchomancy, the power of chaos.

[Grabs a perch up next to her, sitting on the railing for a bit.] Then stay.
I usually guard the ship anyway, and even though this place is pretty empty of enemies, you never know what might come along, eh.
And if you want to try out the mana, I'll be around to tell you when you smell off again, eh? [Sticks his tongue out, only half teasing.]

I'm fine. I'll be fine, it just makes me cranky. So get.

Okay okay. But flag down my idiot brothers if you need them, aye?
