[She replies to his guesses as she flies deeper into the forest. Maybe that place is here as well. The trees are getting more and more dense and ticker the longer they continue on this path.]
[Now though, it's gotten thick enough to make it hard to fly through, so she shifts back to her normal form to walk the rest of the way. But now, they are surrounded completely by old trees that back in her Serenes, has seen many years and held history within.]
[He tilts his head and ducks down to the ground with her, but in his case, he keeps walking as a phoenix for now. His phoenix form seems to appreciate the forest if nothing else, and he knows how to spot homes when he sees one.]
[She blinks and smiles as he chooses to remain in that form, getting quite the fond look at the question. Speaking in a normal voice instead of whistles.]
They are just the elder trees of the forest. These ones.... They have seen so much and have so many stories to tell. These trees here.... They are the ones that raised me ever since that day happened. We are close to the place where I want you to see.
[She sees that thought and yeah..... Keep on forgetting that this really isn't her forest. It really isn't much longer before they reached a clearing....
Wow, right down to this spot, they have copied the forest. In the middle of the clear is a moss covered stone table of sorts. Tree roots crawling upwards on the legs and around it with the only ray of light, shining down on the table.]
[She goes to let out a soft chuckle and flies to it, moving to lay down on it. What? It's just Marco so he won't do anything to her. That and the elder trees would protect her should he even try to.]
Probably back home.... My real home, this is where I am. Naesala claims that no one could find me in the forest for over 20 years.
[A smile towards Marco.] In case you ever come to my world, you will know where I have been sleeping and hopefully wake me up.
[Maybe it's the forest, maybe it's finally having a little bird sister.]
[Or maybe it's just everything at once, but he is drowning in emotions here.]
[He really would like to go visit her world, if he's completely honest with himself.]
[He'd give anything to fly to a different world where no one knew his name or Whitebeard, Blackbeard, the pirates, any of it.]
[But even that....]
[It feels almost like a betrayal.]
[Of course he never wants to forget Whitebeard, or the crew, and he'll protect them until the day he dies. Literally.]
[So the little bit of selfishness, in just wanting to explore and adventure with his brothers just a little longer, one more day, each day, every day...]
[And this forest with its peace...]
[Doesn't it know how hard that has to be fought for? How much people like Ace can't have it? Just because of how they were born.]
[No, it couldn't know.]
[And why is he blaming the forest anyway?]
[Marco gently nudges her with the top of his head.] I will. It's a promise. If I can.
[But the can is the hard part. There's a lot of "impossible" Marco can, will, and does do, but finding Leanne...]
[Would he be giving up on the rest of his brothers?]
[Vista, Curiel, Speed Jiru, Haruta, Izou, Atomos, Blenheim, there were so many and it was never fair. That they didn't get to share these times with Ace and Thatch. That Ace and Thatch couldn't go back to them.]
[Don't mind him... but Marco's just going to cry a little.]
[He still wants to rage and fight the forest's peaceful effects, but even that is confusing.]
[What does it mean to be a phoenix? A pirate? Marco himself? For the most part he's always been okay with going his own way, but before now he could always do it under the banner of his Pops and now, it really is his own.]
[Leanne shifts to a sitting position at the nudging and moves to hug him.]
I know you will, it is all that I can ask for. But do not abandon your current family for one such as myself.
[No.... No brother, don't cry and don't be so confused. Hugging and cradling him now to herself as she just goes to sing softly to him. A hand idly petting his head and neck. Shhhh.... Shhhhhh, no need to be like this, Marco.]
[She continues the petting and the singing for a few more moments before stopping her song and then shifts so that he can at least have a bird to rest against. Any better, bro?]
no subject
[That's okay, he can guess forever.]
no subject
[Guess away! But only her mother, Naesala and Nealuchi knows the answer.
She goes to ponder a moment. Maybe should the off chance it happened...]
Ne Brother? Can I show you a place?
no subject
Is it peanuts?
[He's going to keep guessing for now though.]
no subject
Wrong again.
[She shifts at once then and goes to float in place for a moment, waiting for him to change as well.]
no subject
Lead on fair maiden.
Is it shrimp?
no subject
[She isn't Reyson and not willing to eat things that might kill her. But she smiles and goes to lead on through the trees.]
Try and keep up.
no subject
Reeds?
Ferns?
Stewed fiddleheads?
no subject
Wrong.
Buzz buzz, wrong again.

We are almost there.

What kind of trees are these, Princess?

[He's quiet as he follows now, no more guessing games, he just puts it on hold.]

We are here, brother.

no subject
[Hugs in his wings.] Though I'm still not entirely sure what that means right now.
[Is that strange? It's something about the forest though, definitely. Like the flux in flames.]
no subject
What are you talking about, this is totes a normal forest or at least what a real forest is supposed to be like.)
no subject
My Pops would tell me, it's whatever I want it to be.
But Thatch and Ace aren't birds like me, Namur understands some things, but there are many about him I don't get, and together it's all a mess, eh?
I shouldn't focus on the differences so much as what's important: what we share no matter what, but I suppose this place is getting to me.
[NOT NORMAL AT ALL!]
