[Huffs, though his gaze skitters away for a moment.]

I think you're too fuckin' stubborn to kick it in some shitty way like this. [Then he glances back at Zoro out of the corner of his eye.] This ain't even the worst state I've seen you in.

[Oh. Right. That. Zoro tenses for a moment, not expecting those memories to surface like that. That was a long time ago, but he'll never forget.]

[Just gives him a look like: you're seriously going to say that when you're fucking bedridden because of some shitty poison or drugs or whatever the hell?]

[having a heart attack over such a little thing? Aww, cook. Zoro tries to hide a little smirk as he bends his head over his plate and concentrates on eating for a while. He's plowing through his meal, he's that hungry.]

[Glances back at him, briefly eyeing him up and down.]

[he lowers the empty plate into his lap and fixes his gaze on the cook, only mildly annoyed by the complaint]

This is the first I've taken a hit since we got back together.

[To both things. He slouches over, resting one arm on his knee, his other hand rubbing the back of his neck as he makes a slight face.

Really, this time wasn't any worse than...that other time, and not that Sanji hadn't been worried about Zoro then -- there had been so much blood -- but this feels different. In an unsettling way. He cares on a different level, or something, whatever it is he's not sure he likes it.]

Just shut up and let me bitch about you being an idiot for a minute, geez.

[Sighs. Deep, tired, put-upon sigh.]

Fine. You get one minute.

[It doesn't bother him so much, because he already rues his own mistakes, so anything Sanji complains about won't affect him. Much. It's over, it's past, so as far as Zoro is concerned, what really matters is not letting it happen again. At least this time, his mistake didn't cost the crew anything. Next time, it could be far worse.]

[Opens his mouth, but that sigh stops him from saying anything and he ends up just kind of grimacing again.

It's not like Zoro needs to be nagged at, jesus.

He waves a hand.]

[Grins a little.]

I have a theory that all your brain power gets used up keeping your hair green. Otherwise it'd look like dead grass up there. Must be sucking up all the nutrients and shit.

[His grin stretches a bit wider and he ducks his head a little as if to hide it, before abruptly turning and swooping across to plant a kiss firmly on Zoro's mouth. It's quick, though, almost like he didn't even really mean to do that, and then he's pulling back and standing up in one fluid movement. He's got Zoro's plate in his hands as he turns toward the door.]

You should probably get some more sleep, ya shitty plant.

[Whoa. That actually takes him by surprise. It's there and then it's gone, and he's suddenly relieved of his burdens. Zoro blinks, and then looks up to Sanji as if he's going to ask what that was all about...but he doesn't. He just stares. And after a minute, finds his mouth sort of hanging open. Maybe he should say something.]

Uh. Yeah.

[Having a mental ALKJSHDKJS moment because what. Why. Body, what the fuck?

...Okay, so maybe he likes kissing Zoro, but he's not about to start doing that shit for no reason, and Zoro certainly isn't up for anything more right now, so...hnngh.

Well, whatever. Just...don't think about it. Minor slip up, really. Maybe Zoro will forget about it.

He pauses at the door, turning partway back to Zoro but not looking at him directly.]

I've got watch soon but Bepo should be in to check on you again before he goes to bed. If you're still hungry or something, tell him and he'll get me.

[face plastered to the porthole window. They were sooo interesting]

[Luffy get out. Fortunately Zoro doesn't notice him because blind side.]

Yeah, all right.

[nope, he can't make more words than that. He's just sort of quietly, pleasantly flustered at the surprise kiss, he wasn't expecting it at all and isn't disappointed that it happened. But he doesn't want to think too hard about it, either, his head is still foggy from being out cold for so long. All Zoro can do is stretch back out to get comfortable, and rub absently at his sore shoulder.]

[Turns further, eyes landing on Zoro this time, and for a moment he looks like he might say something else...but then he changes his mind and exits, letting Zoro rest.
