Masquerade Ball - Totally not an ambush

[Even in a Navy uniform there's something conspicuous about how Crocker. Maybe it's because he's just standing and lingering there in the background and just watching people. Like a child who lost their parents in a crowd and he can't seem to find his shipmates they've all taken off... Somewhere. His shipmates are one thing but an entire party, no. He wasn't ready for this. This is even worse than the faire. So, he'll just stand there and awkwardly rub his opposite arm.]

She's going to pay for this. Oh, yes.

[Hands him a drink in one hand and slings his arm around Crocker's shoulder with the other.]

[Yeah, she doesn't care about "enchanting views" from her competition.

Grell hums, amused by her attitude. She crosses her arms lightly.]

Perhaps, although I'm sure others will surely enjoy your sunny disposition far more than I ever could! [Not to sound insulting, at all! She was sure that other men would like such a happy face in a skimpy, revealing dress.]

[Denzel's shoulders tighten as they're suddenly slung around on and laughs a bit manically.]

[Grell steps off to the side so she could walk off if she wanted.]

Don't let me stand in your way, though! I have my own feathered creature to hunt, and I'm very close to finding him!

[If asked, Ragna would argue that no, he's not a goddamn pirate; even six months in this world haven't been able to convince him otherwise.]

[What a bitch. Of course it wasn't his fault! ... Okay, so maybe he hit a few fellow troublemakers with his own attacks, but they probably deserved it. Somehow. The Grim Reaper scowls and moves closer to the girl, not bothered by the chaos around him. The way he sees it, she might be asking for a beating, too.]

If quite the awkward-sized and aged date. I managed to hit him with a Scourgify spell before he took off, though, so if he smells clean you can thank me for that.

[Granted Crocker is still having those nightmares about the Navy Battle but they're not as intense. Denzel sniffs what is offered and makes a disguised face.]

That one isn't difficult to find. It's convincing the poor beast that a friendly chat or two doesn't necessarily mean a lifetime of captivity.

[Robin curtsies again politely, and takes the proffered opening.]

[It isn't her place to stop him if he chooses to run. She would prefer he be free and choose to stay because he wants to, not because she keeps him in a small cage.]

I suppose I ought to feel as though I'm in my element, but... Sometimes it's nice to find a shady spot and just observe for a few minutes.

[If they had legitimately come to have fun, she'd be wallflowering it up all night, rather than bouncing around in the thick of it. Nevertheless, she offers him a genuine, if strained, smile.]

There's no flash of yellow or the weird burst of chakra he's come to associate with the whole transforming-into-special-clothing thing, so his best guess is that she's taken his words about their finances to heart.]
