Masquerade Ball - Totally not an ambush

There are going to be two main threads. One for the ball itself and the other for the Ambush! There will be an obligatory third thread for FASHION. Just remember to tag your muse in the subject header and OTA or 'Closed to ???' as you comment.

[Around 12AM, the room gets a little more full as more and more people seem to crowd in. Woah, a lot of those people have guns and swords. Just before a Navy officer can yell for the attack to begin, Ace(The handsome captain of the Spades) jumps on a table and announces their crew can attack.

Whoops. Hey, everybody already knew there was obviously going to be an ambush.]

A: 11:30 or so, Open

[As she'd already planned, when the fort's clock tolled half past 11, Chandra began to extricate herself from the dance floor and food leaving either her dance partner or a plate laden with goodies abandoned. Leaving is no trouble, she slips towards a bathroom quickly and quietly. A random navy guy is going to have a really bad day as she acquires a disguise, and it's possible she might be observed leaving in a patrolman's uniform.

If followed, she'll be leaving a fairly hard to follow trail unless you track by scent, as her stealth skills are almost ninja-like. She was a thief, after all, and she's more than capable of knifing guards that get in her way and hiding the bodies. The whole purpose is to avoid magic, after all. That'd give up the game to anyone looking for power use with supernatural senses.]

B: Midnight: The Party Begins, closed to Logan, though feel free to notice/react if you want!

[When the clock rolled over to the Witching our, Chandra began to play her symphony of destruction. Fire roared in her hands, her fingers twitching as visible currents of mana flooded from her limbs, and her hair blazed to life like a bonfire to illuminate the night. With a wild laugh, she looked to her companion and then around the base, starting to walk a circuit around the rooftop to create a ritual circle. The view she had was perfect, showing her ships moored in the harbor, gates, defensive emplacements and the sailor's own barracks. All tempting targets for her seething song.

Looking at Logan, Chandra smiled and asked]

Ready to watch me play?

-Well that went terribly. But just like she had promised Captain Sasuke, she was already ready to help her crew get back to the ship in one piece. Her mask burned off as lightning kissed along its edges, and several Naval men charged at her, knowing her by her powers alone.-

"It's that damned lightning ghost! Seize her!"

Hmph... So be it. Have at you!

-The flashes were bright and blinding as she cast her bolts into the enemy crowd.-

[Men and women poured into the ballroom, some disguised, some not. An irritated sigh left Ace as he let go of the lady he had been dancing with, taking two quick steps onto a chair and then a table. He crossed his arms and spoke out one word--] SPADES!

[Just before the room went still, pressure exploding off of him. It attacked every Navy soldier he could pinpoint--especially the ones he remembered and the ones who obviously just stormed the place. Men and women started collapsing and falling unconscious from the pressure he exuded, while the rest were just shaken and surprised, their hands going for their weapons. Ace's 'Will of the Conqueror' had subdued a large portion of their forces in just a few seconds.]

They're caught with their pants down, everyone! [Ace reached up, took off his mask and burned it in the palm of his hand.]

Attack!

[B.B. had contemplated leaving momentarily around midnight, and she was thrilled to stay once more officers started filing in. Something was wrong. It was a trap!

Perfect.

Once the chaos started, Bonnie tearfully tried to get through the crowd before one of the officers from before spotted her. Her angle: scared and defenseless. Once one got a look at her, claiming that it wasn't safe for a girl like her to be here, he grabbed her arm.]

You're right. Someone might get hurt! [Gripping onto his arm with her's, she pulls him down into a headbutt, immediately nicking his saber and slicing into his stomach. Truthfully, she didn't care at all if he survived, but if he died, that'd only make her job easier.

From her dress, she pulled a few apple grenades out, biting down on the pins and tossing them directly at the Navy.

Time to go to work.]

[With the start of the ambush and the call from Ace, Conchita face splits into a mad grin. More monster than man, she reaches into her cleavage and draws out the wine glass stained red. She draws her mask off, discarding it. It will only be a hindrance.]

It's about time I had a feast! Come, bow before and honor the great Conchita! All in this world is for her to consume!

[It's a mad speech as she begins her own rampage. All who don't seem to be a pirate are the target. So many flavors to sample--and if one isn't careful, they'll be at the receiving end of one of her powerful bites. Of course, there's also the fact that they may just end up watching as she slakes her appetite for flesh, blood and saliva dripping down her front.]

[A few minutes after the chaos begins, Coby streaks through the air, kicking up a gale every time he 'moon walks'. He left the Penguin without so much as a word, an expression of utter calm on his face despite the storm of worry and anger beneath. He expected an attack, but the storm of abilities being used to lay waste to the base and the ball alike were beyond what he expected.

Arriving much the same as an air to ground missile, Coby swung his right leg in a wide sweep--slicing with the wind and cutting two large water tanks open. Water sprayed down on a number of the fires building in the hall. It wasn't enough by a long shot, but he created a bit of a haven for anyone burning to run to. Sprinting along the pier, Coby pushed burning men and women aside and into the water, no matter who he came across. As he reached the hall, Coby rolled up his sleeves and strengthened his 'Will'. He was doing something needlessly stupid for every good reason he could think of.]

[Lenalee didn't waste any time from the moment the ambush started to activate her innocence. Once she had done so, she jumped into the air, floating for a moment like a butterfly on the wind being she came thundering down like steel on to a naval man that happened to be nearby. She knew it was to kill or be killed and so far she didn't want to die, at least not now.

So as she ducked, she kicked another man in the groin sending him flying into the air before kicking him towards a nearby wall. Another man down and she was still doing okay. She knew she had an advantage at least, but she wondered what would happen if they tried to use a lot of men at once. After all they are different to Akuma after all. But for now all she could do was knock them out one by one and make sure that she stayed alive.]

[Now this is what Ragna calls a party. While he felt completely out of place for most of the evening, once the battle begins all the humiliation and boredom he's endured are immediately forgotten in favor of taking action. Admittedly, his options are somewhat limited, since there's no way he could've brought his Blood-Scythe to the ball without being found out, but that is not to say he's defenseless. No, far from it─ and when the first group of officers approaches him, thinking he's an easy pray due to his lack of weapons, Ragna quickly proves them wrong. With a simple gesture from the man, a dark, beast-shaped shadow raises from the ground, hitting the soldiers and throwing them into the air.]

C'mon, Navy dogs. The Grim Reaper's came to invite y'all to hell!

[Kairi had been ready, she felt like she for once could be useful as she ran around, keyblade in hand, ready to take on anyone in her path and knock them down. What she wasn't expecting was to see into the eyes of someone she knew. Someone who not that long ago had fired the gun. The very same gun that killed her.

She was face to face with the guy that killed her over a month ago. She had her chance to get her own back right now, before he could get the chance to try and take her out again. She ran towards him, her mind racing about what she could do. When she finally reached him, her keyblades vanished she wanted to put on the act of someone who couldn't fight.]

Please help me. I-I don't understand what's going on. [She moved her hands to cover her face, pretending to cry. When the guy looked at her awkwardly, unsure of how to deal with a young girl she made her move and....kicked the guy hard in the shin, causing him to collapse from the sudden pain. It was the best thing she could do without actually hurting him.]

That was for shooting me a month ago!

[As soon as Ace announced the attack (counter-ambush?), Naesala gleefully tore off his cloak and allowed his wings to breathe. He took a minute to relish the feeling after having kept them tight for so long before fully shifting into raven form.

The first enemy that came near got a knockback blast of wind from his powerful wings. The second was torn down the middle by his beak.

Yeah, the infiltration itself was pretty fun, but even Naesala would admit the panic afterwards is a glorious sight. Better panic from the navy than from the pirate crews, anyway. He's relieved that the ball room is big enough that he's able to fly upwards, circling the floor to watch how everyone's faring.]

It was a shame to ruin such a nice party, but Elissa had anticipated something like this taking place. As the fire and chaos begin, she ceases being subtle about her thievery and simply begins stealing outright from the overdressed nobles. Rings, necklaces, earrings, anything shiny enough and valuable enough is yanked, tugged, ripped, and pulled from its owners.

An aging noblewoman screams as Elissa plucks the decorative comb from her hair and the brooch from her bodice, drawing the attention of an old Navy officer. The portly man is outraged at Elissa's audacity, but that doesn't save him from a kick to groin and an elbow to the back of the head.

Within a moment, Elissa is wearing the red sash that had draped his uniform - complete with all of its shimmering medals.

[enough was enough. Interfering. Not interfering. There came a time when a man had to do something. So for now he is heading toward the chaos, doing nothing more than spreading ice at his feet, trying do disperse the fighting in the most peaceable way possible. Though he will have no quarter for those who he knows are pirates and unashamed of it]

[stands by a wall, arms folded and watching the fight. He doesn't know why Ace started it, but it doesn't matter. He's not interested in fighting these Navy guys. They're too weak to bother with. He'll fight if he has to or if he sees someone that needs help, but for now he'll just wait for Ace to be done]

[Due to circumstances, the ship's really more decked out for battle than a party. But there are strings of multi-colored lights, and Namur acquired a boombox during his visit to Deesuko Ballia and a good variety of music and styles which he is more than willing to let people peruse and pick their favorites. Sadly, the music won't be terribly loud. They do gotta try and keep a sort of low profile.]
