[She doesn't think that he has spent too much time resting, but she knows that her opinion matters little. Zoro is well enough to wander around after all, it makes sense for him to want to do so with his own legs.]
Do you think so? I just wanted to see if I could do something like this, I knew I could make an ice sculpture, but not if it could move as well. I hope that my previous experiments didn't trouble you.

[A sigh.]
Either way it was my fault, I'll do better next time.
[It makes her a bit anxious, to be honest, but she has spent years trying to contain her powers to learn to control them with no success. Robin and Celestia seemed to think that the solution was to actually use them, and Luffy had told her to just be herself, it all amounted to her using her powers more and explore them at will.]
no subject
[he will continue to adamantly reassure her that her powers aren't hurting anyone. He's seen worse, really]
Besides, it's not like I'm not used to getting those kinds of looks.
no subject
Elsa laughs quietly at the last comment, amused but not mockingly.]
I suppose it's part of being a pirate, isn't it? Unless you mean you used to get that treatment even before you became a pirate.
[If he looked anything like he does now she can imagine some people jumping to conclusions, no matter how wrong they were. Zoro's looks are far from those of a minister of peace after all.]
no subject
[oddly enough, it had nothing to do with his looks. Since those scars he wears, visible and proud, he didn't get until after joining the crew. The one across his chest is half-hidden by bandages at the moment anyway, not that that helps the visual at all.]
no subject
[If not she's fine with that, but she can't help to get her curiosity picked up.]
no subject
[you know, just hatin' on pirates until he became one. No big.]
no subject
[She can't help but laugh slightly in incredulity.]
I think it's a bit more than that, I suppose you chased anyone who had a bounty, both pirates and bandits, didn't you? So you essentially changed sides upon meeting Luffy.
[She smiles softly.]
I can understand that, though. Luffy's not the kind of pirate whom people picture when fighting or hating them.
You fit the role a bit better, though.
[Just a light teasing, though it's accompanied by a slightly worried look, hoping that Zoro won't take it as an offense.]
no subject
I don't feel like I became the thing I hated. Bounty hunting was what I did to get by, it wasn't for any deep reason.
[he glances up at her, all elegant and stuff on her ice horse]
You're full of curiosity about me. What about you? What did you do before coming here?
no subject
[The reply comes with a soft laughing tone and a smile, used mostly to try to hide the tension she feels building in her shoulders at his question. It's not that she doesn't want to talk about herself, but there are things, mostly one thing, she doesn't want to talk about because it doesn't matter anymore. She's not Arendelle's Queen, she's not even a princess, but part of her fears that if the others learn of that something will change. And every time she talks about herself she fears that it will be discovered, that somehow they will see something that will hint them on it.
She takes a deep breath, trying to disguise it as her savouring the atmosphere before she replies.]
Nothing big either. I lived with my parents and my sister... Sort of. So I didn't need to do anything to "get by". I just studied and prepared myself to take over my father's job once I would turn of age.
[There's a pause as her eyes fall on her ice horse for a moment.]
It didn't work out, and I had to flee from Arendelle, the kingdom where I was born. I settled myself in the North Mountain, prepared to live there the rest of my life, but instead I found myself in this world.
[She offers a soft shrug, she's sure that for most people her life, even if she were to mention the bits about being royal, is far from interesting.]
no subject
No wonder you fit in with us. You've had to deal with the same thing many of us have.
no subject
[She glances at Zoro curiously once more.]
Are there others who had to flee from their birthplaces as well?
no subject
[He has to think, and remember what he knows of his crewmates' pasts]
Chopper was driven out by his herd after he ate a Devil Fruit. Most of the rest of us don't have parents. Luffy's father is still alive, but he doesn't even know the man.
Sometimes, pirates set out to sea because a crew is more like a family than any blood relatives could be. You know the guys in the Spades, Marco and them? Their crew back home considers each other family.

[Still Zoro's words make sense, they fit with what Luffy said as well and Elsa can agree. Sure, no one will ever replace Anna or her parents, but that's not what this is about. With the Straw Hats she can do something she never thought she could do: she can be who she is, without fear. Or at least without as much fear as she had back in Arendelle.
It's selfish in a way, to let everything fall on Anna like that. But Anna is the better choice. Anna is the one who will be a warm Queen, loving and cheerful. She will open the gates and live her life without Elsa dragging her down. And she may stumble at times along the way, but she will learn from it and get up again.]
You're right though, our stories are quite similar. I had to flee because my powers were revealed in a party and I was accused of sorcery. It was that or be executed most probably.

Mmhmm, I'm glad I came with you too. I never thought that I could have this... That I could be who I truly am, without hiding, and at the same time not be alone.
I don't mind to be alone if it means that I can be free, but...
[It's just so much better to be able to be free and accompanied.]
no subject
[he remembers being alone, too. And how hard he resisted changing that status. Now, he wouldn't trade the crew for anything in the world.]
no subject
Looking back, I can't help but wonder if that was really freedom anyway. I was alone and able to use my powers and be myself, but I was also still scared of what could happen if I was found.
I'm still worried, of course, of somehow hurting someone with my power or with something I make. But it feels as if it's starting to fade a bit somehow.
[The fear. The worry will probably always be there, but it's nothing compared with the fear she had.]
no subject
There are worse things than giving someone a little frostbite, really.
no subject
It's not giving someone a little frostbite that worries me, though. I was told when I was a child, that a strike of my powers to someone could be fatal but was treatable... So long as it hadn't hit the heart. There's no magic or way in the world capable of healing a frozen heart.
[At least as far as she knows, the trolls didn't mention it and the way the old troll explained the damage Elsa's sure that a strike to a heart would be immediately lethal.]
no subject
I dunno. I'd think you would have to put some effort into reaching someone's heart. Deliberately.
no subject
[It's a trauma ingrained far too deeply in her. Even now, away from her world and Anna, she can still see it clearly when she closes her eyes. She almost killed her sister as a child and her powers are now nothing but stronger, how can she not think that she could kill someone right away?]
no subject
[true, he should know that getting past something like that takes time and experience, not words. So Zoro won't be offering empty platitudes, only his trust.]
no subject
They are magic creatures from my world. Their bodies are made of rock and they mimic those around people normally, unless the people are looking for them. When the accident happened and I hurt my sister, our father took us there to beg for help, knowing that they could help with their magic.
It was the eldest troll who saved Anna and who told me about the dangers of my powers... He showed us a vision explaining that my power was very beautiful, but also very dangerous, that fear would be my enemy... And that I would be killed by people who feared me.
[That wasn't what the troll meant, but none Elsa nor her parents understood it at the time and she still doesn't realize that the fear that is her enemy isn't the fear of others but her own. After all it makes sense, the images showed her with people who turned against her and attacked her, an agonic death cry with her own voice resounding as they did.]
