Manly Drinking Times
Who: Marco, Thatch, Logan, Namur, Roxas, Vyse, Chandra, Natsuno, and anyone else who wants in on this drinking game
Where: The Sun! And the Moon! And all the ships in between
When: Sunday May 4th, pursuant to this hilarity
What: MANLY DRINKING TIMES
Warnings: Ehhhhh ARRRRR For Rum. And drinking. And war. And fuck who knows what else, remind me to update if needed.
Status: OPEN!!!
Marco quickly set up a couple of kegs at the ready for the drinking party. Because it was just plain necessary, and a lot like old times. The last two weeks were still weighing on Marco's mind. War, Peace, phoenixes. Was it a good idea to really enjoy war so much? Was it a bad one? Maybe it was inevitable, so he might as well enjoy it. Like life, right? Or should he not encourage it just because it was amusing?
It was too much of a headache, that's why he was just going to drink.
He also set up some non-alcoholic drinks for Leanne and everyone else. Green tea, fruit juices, but they were all clearly marked.
Marco gave a quick piercing whistle. "OI SPADES! Roll call and drinking games!"
And maybe drunk board games, he would blame that on Ace though.

Nope! in fact you're right on time
"Hey, Nami." The mermaid’s lack of alcohol is definite plus, he was getting tired of the smell permeating the room. "Not my kind of party." But really, he wasn’t the party type in general. "Need a seat?" She was floating just a bit off the floor, so he was sure if sitting would even matter to her.
well how did that happen
Without the armor she typically wore around her waist, it was relatively easy for her to have a seat, even if it meant that her tail would end up touching the wooden planks. Said tail was also long enough that her fin was coming out from underneath the table, though she was considerate enough to not end up touching Mako's legs.
"It's a bit much for me, too. But I thought I'd stick around for a little bit." She noticed the cup and couldn't help but ask, "What are you drinking?"
shhh, magic
He glanced down, still not completely used to her tail; not yet. Taking in a breath of his steaming cup, Mako took a sip and then set it back down on the table.
"Was there anything you're used to from your world?" He eyed the fruit juice for a moment. What would a creature living in the ocean drink, or would they even have to? Questions he never thought he'd be asking himself.
I believe in magic
Knowing what he kept looking at, Nami lifted her tailfin up from the floor for a moment.
"Do you like it that much?" She didn't need alcohol to be in a joking mood.

"Sorry. Still used to feet and legs." Even if it was a joke, he felt awkward about being half-caught.
Which was why he decided to just give a quick overview of tea. "Depends on how you like it. There’s a lot of flavors, and some people even add sugar because it’s too bitter." He tapped his cup with a finger. "Like this kind." One he didn't mind. He didn't exactly have room to be picky growing up.

"I might have to try it."

It doesn’t take Mako long to fill up another cup of tea and slides it over in front of Nami as he sits down. Luke warm, but he heats it easily enough to make it hot.
“Just sip carefully or you’ll burn yourself.” If she could get burned, there was a ton of things about mermaids that his brain didn’t know how to answer.

She looked at it, while also taking in the smell. As she glanced at Mako, the mermaid nodded and carefully had a taste.
The verdict?
"I like it."
no subject
“Yeah?” Keeping the surprise out of his voice was difficult, and he didn’t try that hard in the first place. “If we make port soon I’ll see about picking up a few other leaves for brewing.”
Yep, made from leaves.
“Did you go to the ball back at Corsair?”
no subject
It was unusual, and did taste rather... bitter? Yeah, that was the word she had been looking. Though even so, she didn't necessarily hate it. She would just continue to take small sips at a time, letting herself get more used to the taste.
"Not really. I can't really disguise myself as a human all that well."
Fins and a tail would've been that pretty difficult.
"I didn't mind staying with the ship, though."
no subject
A little self chiding for not thinking of that, of course she wouldn’t have been able to be a part of Ace’s surprise attack. "I didn’t either." Staying with the ship meant Mako was able to mostly keep to himself, and that was his cup of tea. So to speak.
Until they needed to escape anyway.
"I’m ready to get back to looking for those shards. The ball was a waste of time." Focused as usual.

"Seeing the rest of the crew enjoying themselves like this isn't bad." That's how Nami felt about it, at least.
"But parties aren't going to help us get home any faster."
no subject
"No, they’re not. It feels like I haven’t seen the city in years, but it’s only been a few months."
no subject
"I can't really tell too many buildings apart, especially when they're all together like that."
no subject
He took a sip from his tea and shook his head. "It's not without it's problems though. The crime rate's pretty high, the gang wars almost never stop and that's without the whole equalist revolution or what the spirit of darkness did to the place."
no subject
"What did it do?"
