[You won't mind if he just kinda parks himself there against the bed for now, right? He'd clean up here in a while- unless he fell asleep, but not before he tried some of that honey.

-although catching a glimpse of Cynthia, he paused.]

....try to take it easy, okay?

[No please go ahead, she doesn't mind having him there in the slightest, and even if he does end up falling asleep, she'd probably share her blanket or something.

She slowly reaches out to ruffle his hair.]

Okay...I promise.

[If he was annoyed by the gesture then he seemed too tired to care. He was glad that Cynthia was all right, though. As calm as he'd been throughout taking care of her injury, he was only glad that it hadn't been any worse. Any deeper or angled even just a fraction one way or another and things could have been a lot more serious.

All the same, he whispered a silent prayer to Naga, wherever the god fit into a place like this.

Some time later would find him having dozed off beside the bed, not so much completely out of running low on adrenaline so much as wanting to be nearby in case he was needed.]

[She watched as the thief took a seat next to her bed. She gently played with strands of his ginger hair as she watch him slowly drift off into peaceful slumber. In her world, she would have been in a hospital. She would have been strapped to a morphine drip that would have knocked her out ages ago. But she didn't have pain killer here, and the pain kept her very much awake.

The knife was gone, it left a wound, but not a reason for her to stay down. It took a lot of effort. She had to make sure not to wake the sleeping thief as she tried to sit up and get out of bed. Her pokemon understood how careless their trainer could be. Garchomp volunteered to help her up and take her wherever she wanted to go.

"To the deck. I want to see the sun set."

And so, slowly but surely, she was taken there,]

[Leo was standing on the deck, his shoulder all wrapped up and his swords not on him as he had just finished cleaning the blood off them and left them in the men's bunk. Right now he was just looking out, making sure that nothing like any crazy natives were going to come for them. But mostly it was to clear his mind and to get his mind away from the guilt that he was feeling.

If he had just moved faster, he could have stopped that guy before he got near Cynthia. He could have prevented her from being stabbed. But he hadn't been able to stop it. He was supposed to be better than that, he was supposed to be able to protect his family and friends no matter what, and he wans't able to stop something as simple as a stabbing?

Then he heard movement. He turned around and he saw Cynthia and her pokemon.]

Cynthia? [He walked over at a pretty fast pace.] What are you doing up? You shouldn't be moving around with that wound.

[She shushed the teen as her dragons guides her to a near by crate that she could sit on. It had the best view of the horizon and it had a bigger crate behind it so she could lean and sit comfortably...well, as comfortably as she could manage anyway.

Yes, she knew she shouldn't be up. But could you blame her for wanting to get back to her usual routine as soon as possible. She wasn't one for sitting still for a long period of time. Even with a still bleeding stab wound on her side.]

I'll...[a wince.]...I'll head back to bed after this...

[That wince didn't go un-noticed.]

Are you sure? Because you could worsen your wound out here. You shouldn't push yourself anymore than you need to.

[And completely ignoring that comment, she gently rests her hand on his injured shoulder.]

How is it? Nothing too serious I hope?

[Well he tried.]

It's fine. All I got was a minor slash in the shoulder, it should be all healed up in a few days.

That's good to know, you had me so worried.

[Which she shouldn't be, but she was anyway. Having a teenager step in and save your life is one thing. Dragging him into a potentially dangerous situation where he ends up injured as well? Different story.]

[Hearing that made the blue-masked tutle's cheeks redden a bit. but instead he turned his gaze to the ground.]

You shouldn't have been, fighting guys like those natives is nothing new to me. It was you that I was worried about.

You mean this thing?

[She raises her shirt a bit to reveal the blood stained bandage of hers. Poking it for added effect but wincing right after.]

I-It's nothing to worry yourself over. I'm a tough girl, I've been through worse.

[Ok maybe that was a lie. As far as injuries go, she's had every possible injury you could get while travelling the pokemon world. But never in her life has she ever been stabbed. EVER.]

[He wasn't convinced.]

Are you sure that you want to be out here? I mean I don't want you to make the wound any worst than it already is.

Leo, sweetie, if I didn't want to be out here I wouldn't waste all that effort getting out of bed and walking. Besides...I promised Gaius I'd take it easy. This is me taking it easy.

[She slowly leans against a crate and look out at the horizon.]

This wasn't the first time I've been attacked by locals. Here I thought that part was over.

[He didn't seem to catch that last part.]

Okay, sorry. I just... don't want you to be in anymore pain then you were then...

[All because he couldn't stop it from happening.]

I got stabbed in a world where hospitals don't exist, and I'm going to have to live with a week-no, a month long recovery process that doesn't involve pain killers, proper medication and a sterile environment that won't cause possible infection.

Gaius poured some of Gan Ning's nasty rum on my open stab wound. I'm pretty sure I won't experience anything that could top that level of pain.

[...and that did nothing to make him feel better.]

Okay, just... don't push yourself too much, okay?

[A weak chuckle. She was sure she'd be hearing that line over and over for the next few days]

Don't worry about me, Leo. I won't be getting myself into danger any time soon. I can't even get out of bed without her help. [Pointing to garchomp.]

I'm pretty sure you won't even see much of me after this.

[Still not helping.]

Oh, umm... okay. I guess if you say so...

I was told there were ruin on the island. So I thought I'd check them out before we leave. I never got to see them. But I assume I was close since those natives attacked me.

Then you showed up...what on earth were you doing there anyway?

I had been checking out the island when you and those natives ran past me. I figured that something was wrong, so I went after you. Good thing I did, I was able to get there before anything bad could happen... at least at that moment.

[Because he sure as shell wasn't able to hold them all back.]

[She smiles weakly before wrapping her arms around the teen. She gave one to Gaius for patching her up, so Leo deserved on too.]

You saved my life, Leo. I owe you big time.

[And now he was blushing even more.]

Umm... i-it's fine. You don;t need to owe me anything, just happy to help. [Then he looks back at the ground.] Besides, I wasn;t able to stop that guy from stabbing you.

Nonsense! I thought I was going to die back there and you saved my life. The stab was my fault, I wasn't paying attention. But I'm still here and I'm still breathing, Leo. That's enough.

[Slowly, she lets go and kisses the top of his head.]

I'll make it up to you. I don't care if you don't want me to, I will.

[If his face wasn't already as red as Raph's mask, he's pretty sure that it was now.]

I... okay, but you don't have to. I mean I'll let you fi you want to, but... there really isn't any need to repay me.
