It's nice to meet you Captain. Is a stiff wind a bad thing?

Eh, could be. If one of the lines gets loose, not only could it throw us off course, it could rip the sail and we don't got anyone with the right experience onboard to repair it. Then we'd be dead in the water.

[raavashing]

Oh. That does sound bad. Well, if that ever happens, just tell me where you want us to go and I'll get the water to take us that way until we can get the sail repaired.

...ehhh? Get the water to what? You can do that?

[raavashing]

Sure. It's not that hard when there's so much water around. It would probably be easier than trying to control the wind for long periods of time, too. And if the sails are down, that wouldn't really help.

[youhearthebells]

Hang on here. You're tellin' me you can control the wind, too? Doesn't need any kind of lengthy prayer ceremony or nothin', does it?

[raavashing]

Not at all. I just use the elements as an extension of myself.

[Wan flipped his hands and arms in a quick movement that, if Gan Ning had any familiarity with the basic forms of Ba Gua, he might recognize. As his arms circled his upper body a gust of wind blew across the deck in concert with the actions. As if following the flow and power of his hands. It was enough control that the sudden movement didn't effect the sails at all. It was only within Wan's immediate vicinity.]

You think so? That's great! I'm trying to find Leo's brothers right now. I was told if I could help out with the children, you might let me stay. Will you?

[big snort. THE CHILDREN]

I got no problem with it. I dunno what changed 'em into kids, but until it gets straightened out, we can use all the hands we can get.

[raavashing]

[Changed them into kids? That was an odd way of saying the children had gotten unruly.]

Sure. Do you know where I might be able to find Leo's brothers? The boat is pretty big and I don't know it well.

[youhearthebells]

Right at the moment? Beats the hell out of me. [he holds his hand out about knee-height] Just look for the miniature turtles. I'd say you can't miss 'em but on a ship this size? They could be anywhere.

[raavashing]

[That didn't help him at all, really, but at least he had more of a measure of their height.]

Right. Miniature uh... turtles. Thank you, Captain. I'll try inside the ship. I've already searched everywhere but that bucket at the top of the mast.

That's the lookout nest. I dunno if they can climb up there but it's as good a place to check as any.

[raavashing]

Oh. Then I guess I should check it first.

[He snapped his arms down and a wave of air pushed him into a quick spin as a cloud formed under his feet. He rose quickly into the air, riding the cloud upward to the lookout nest to check it before being brought back down to the deck. He landed almost exactly where he started, the cloud poofing away as his feet connected with the wood.]

No one in there right now. But I'll check it again later if I can't find them inside the ship.

[whoa whoa whoa WHOA! Ning stumbles back at that, completely nonplussed]

What are you - related to Sun Wukong or somethin'?!

No... Who is that?

A mystical monkey-guy, he rides on a cloud just like that.

[peeeers] You sure you're not a mystic?

[raavashing]

No. I know an Aye-Aye Spirit, though! He can't cloudwalk. The lionturtles only grant the power of the elements to humans.

And I don't know what a mystic is.

[youhearthebells]

....well, all right, if you say so. 'Cause I usually gotta be on my best behavior around the gods and stuff. But if you're just a guy, then cool.

A guy who says weird stuff, but a guy. I can get behind that.

[raavashing]

Oh. Don't worry. I might not be a regular human anymore, but I'm definitely not a god or spirit of any kind.

[Just sort of eternally bonded to one.]

Do only spirits use the power of the elements in your world?

[youhearthebells]

Yeah, pretty much. I mean, Zhuge Liang called the wind at Chi'bi, or so they say, but that was nothin'. I hadn't even met any of the spirits until we all got taken to another world, and let me tell ya, comin' face to face with the creator and his wife gives you a whole new perspective on things.

[raavashing]

You've been to another world before? Before all this? My world has two worlds that are connected. The material plane and the spirit world. Is that how your world is?

[youhearthebells]

Before this, yeah. No, it's not the same at all - that world was created by a demon, he dragged us all there because he's a total dick and wanted to fight us. I was there before I came here, this world's a lot more normal compared to the other one.

[raavashing]

Do you mean a dark spirit? One of chaos?
