[It was starting to get dark, which prompted Mona Lisa to head back to her room, if only for a quick moment. She had only just recently met Cynthia but she couldn't help still be worried over her. She couldn't really imagine how it must've felt for her roommate.

She opened the door as quietly as she could, hoping to not wake Cynthia up in case she was asleep.]

[The champion had managed to doze off with a book on top of her face. She had been having trouble sleeping these past few days since there was a severe lack of pain killers in this world.

But she was a light sleeper, and the sound of footsteps woke her up almost instantly. Shooting up and dropping her book on the floor. She had forgotten she had a roommate...whoops.]

Mona?

[Then she groans and clutches her side. Sitting up wasn't an easy task for her, so shooting up to a sitting position would have probably hurt a lot.]

[Aw crap, so much for not waking up her recovering roomie.] H-Hey, Cynthia. Sorry, I was hoping I wouldn't wake you up.

[She picks up the book and hands it over to her.]

How're you feeling? You need anything?

[The champion happily takes her book and sets it aside.]

Well I wouldn't mind some pain killers if you have any. Maybe even something to sterilize this stupid wound that doesn't double as Kitty favorite alcoholic beverage.

[In short, no. But she does enjoy have company for once.]

And how are YOU feeling? Adjusting to the ship ok? I know it's not really an ideal place for someone who has bad history with pirates. But at least no one will hurt you here...except maybe Kitty, but that's only if you're a guy.

It's not exactly a luxury cruise, but living on a ship isn't turning out to be so bad.

And it helps that I don't have to worry about... what I look like, at least with you guys.

Well why should you? As far as I'm concerned, you're different. And that makes you pretty darn cool.

[She seems surprised to hear that.]

Thanks, but being this way isn't really all that cool back where I'm from. Especially if I just want to go outside.

I could imagine, since the boys told me they had to hide out in a sewer or something. But being a mutant can't be all that bad, can it?

I'm stronger now than when I was a human, and I'm actually a pretty good swimmer, too. But that's mostly it.

It doesn't really matter how strong I get. Back on Earth, I can't go outside without people thinking I'm some kind of freak.

See that's what I don't get. If I saw someone like you, my first assumption would be "where's the costume party?", not "holy crap balls, aliens!" or something.

Funny you should mention that. I've actually gone to a costume party looking like this. Nobody really suspected anything until I actually told them.

But take the costumes away and I'm going to have a problem.

That's not really any better, and I don't want any of that. I just want my old life back.
