It's good that you understand that. Now come on, you tell me something about your world and I'll tell you something about my world in return?

Okay. Fair enough.

[He scoots up a bit in his seat, resting his hands over his knees.]

I guess I can start off with what's normal. For centuries, we've always been warriors. Everything was brute strength and guts. No room for thinking. You just do. But, as you can plainly see– [A simple flex. Nothing changes.] –not every one of us can embody the idea of a Viking warrior. And up until now, there was only that one concept.

Fight to survive, I can understand that. I used to study different tribes back home. But please, do go on.

Not only our tribe, but some of the others as well. Except to different extremes. Not sure if that's a good thing, but, you know. We take care of our own.

And then there's the whole thing with the dragons. We've struggled against them for the longest time – and I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but I was the first of my people to fail killing one for the "fame and glory" bit.

Instead, I was the first to fly with Toothless. And thanks to that, we've incorporated the dragons into our daily lives.

Well I recall you mentioning about dragon killing being a thing with you guys. But I don't really get what you mean by "failed to kill one" and "fame and glory". Is it like a competition with you guys? Who ever bags the biggest one.

It's more for reputation and putting your name out there. While it can get competitive, it's still about recognition. Doesn't matter who you are – everyone will be remembered for doing something extraordinary. Or strange.

So the more you kill, the more popular you are? Sad. So were you popular back home? I bet you have a girlfriend waiting.

[Nudge nudge.]

Yeah, something like that. Thankfully, that's all over and done with. One less thing to worry about.

[A pause occurs.

He then laughs, albeit weakly, swayed by the nudging. His eyes glance up at the ceiling before rolling down to the wall and floor.]

Girlfriend! Yyyeah, you can say that?? Only just recently, anyway!

Oh! So you do have a girlfriend?? That's adorable! What's she like? I bet she's super pretty.

[Gods, he can't help but blush a bit.]

Oh, is she. I mean, she is. Very pretty. Blond. With her bangs falling over an eye.

She's tougher than me, stronger than me. More athletic and brash. And she can probably kill someone with a good throw of her axe.

–Basically, she's everything I should've been, but there you go!

...throw of her axe?

Yeah, she's really good at hurling axes at targets, you don't ever want to get in the middle of that.

...that's true love right there.

Well, it's more like normal behavior. We just started and it doesn't feel that much different.

Axe wielding sociopaths are normal? Remind me to never get her angry then. But I do wish you all the joy and happiness and that you may have a fruitful relationship together?

[No seriously, she doesn't know enough about teenage puppy love to comment about it.]

What about your family? Anything interesting there?

It's sort of hard not to, but she'll understand if you mention it to her. Then again, I can get why her patience wears thin – we hang out with a few other Vikings our age annnd sometimes they're not the brightest...

[He shrugs, but he lets that sit as a segue into the next two questions.]

When it comes to family, it's just me and my dad. He's large and in charge...which makes sense, because. He's the chief.

Oh so you have a girlfriend AND you're village royalty. Who knew our Hiccup was such a badass.

Yeah, yeah. No one ever expects the stick.

Now now Hiccup you're not a stick...well not anymore anyway. You have more meat than Lea, making him HazMat's resident stickman now.

Somehow I don't feel like that's any better. Plus Gaius' nickname has already stuck on me.

What does he call you?

Twigs.

[Snort.]

Ok sorry that was inappropriate. But not to worry, I'm sure he could think of something even skinnier to call Lea.

Can't be as bad as "Twigs."

You'd be surprised, Gaius is quite the creative genius when it comes to nicknames.
