INTRO LOG: MAY 2014
Have an intro log for the month of May!
Who: Any and all new characters, as well as anyone hanging out on or around Isla Empieza!
Where: Near the fountain in the town center.
When: New characters will arrive around May 10th! The log is good for as long as you need it.
What: You've just been dropped on your head in a weird new world. Time to figure out what the heck is going on!
Status: VERY OPEN.
It's a brilliant May day, with blue skies and a soft breeze as you wake up. Everything about the otherwise grubby pirate port you are in speaks of spring. There are flowers surrounding the fountain, draping in colorful garlands over railings and balconies and tucked into all corners. There is a certain cheerfulness to it all and those in Empieza seem friendly and welcoming (to those who've been there before, they are far more pleasant than usual).
Feel free to throw your characters here if you need a place for them to get situated and start figuring things out! Start new threads, tag into others, meet the people who might just become part of your crew! Older characters will be in and out, too, depending who is on the island at the current time.

I can't talk too easily with the beak, but hang on loosely and I won't let you fall. If you're anything like your Captain though, please warn me before you do something crazy, aye?
[Because once he takes someone flying, he'll do everything to protect them, and that is not easy with certain rubber monkeys who find it hilarious to get stuck in tree branches.]

A... phoenix?
[Not what she was expecting. Still, she let the surprise sink in before she found herself walking forward. She took a few seconds before climbing on and getting herself settled.]
Okay, I think I'm ready.

[The flames don't burn, and though it's a little glittery, they're mostly warm and soothing to the touch, curling around Nami, even as Marco spreads his wings and starts running to pick up speed and lift before taking off into the air.]

And from where she was, she could see the entire island.]
So that's it then. Isla Empieza.
[From up above, it looked pretty nice. She just took the sight in, familiarizing herself with it's appearance as well as the waters surroundings it and the geographical parts of it.
Looked like this would be the center piece for her map.]

[Isla Empieza is one of the islands Marco has best memorized, and it was the first one he mapped for his own sake. He's not completely sure if he and Nami have different mapping styles, particularly since he usually makes some extra notes to factor in air currents, and hell if Marco knows what 'normal' people do for mapping, but he languidly flies around, taking it easy so that she can drink it all in from various angles.]

Fortunately, mapping to her was as natural as predicting the weather. With a view like this, she could map the island no problem.]
