INTRO LOG: MAY 2014
Have an intro log for the month of May!
Who: Any and all new characters, as well as anyone hanging out on or around Isla Empieza!
Where: Near the fountain in the town center.
When: New characters will arrive around May 10th! The log is good for as long as you need it.
What: You've just been dropped on your head in a weird new world. Time to figure out what the heck is going on!
Status: VERY OPEN.
It's a brilliant May day, with blue skies and a soft breeze as you wake up. Everything about the otherwise grubby pirate port you are in speaks of spring. There are flowers surrounding the fountain, draping in colorful garlands over railings and balconies and tucked into all corners. There is a certain cheerfulness to it all and those in Empieza seem friendly and welcoming (to those who've been there before, they are far more pleasant than usual).
Feel free to throw your characters here if you need a place for them to get situated and start figuring things out! Start new threads, tag into others, meet the people who might just become part of your crew! Older characters will be in and out, too, depending who is on the island at the current time.
HAVE FUN! And welcome to High Seas!

"...Well, this is quite the turn of events," he says, his ears flicking as he looks around, "My, the humans are quite large here, aren't they? What happened? Did Tarouza complete his goal and I somehow slept through the whole thing? You've all done a marvelous job of fixing me up, I must say."

Resting her hand on her saber hilt, she just looked casual, walking beside the tiger for the moment.

When she woke up she had taken the high space on top of a sloped roof near by, sitting there to read this stupid journal she found. Hmm. Folding it up and tucking it in her belt that was that for now.
She'll sit here for a few, watching others waking up or moving around. If they got her interest she might even go say hello, and what the hell? But otherwise, she's headed for the first tavern she finds, and then the docks, because the young looking Whitebeard Pirate isn't amused.
Feel free to find her in one of these places.

It's funny, but he's never actually wanted to be the captain, no matter what his Dark King title implied, he didn't like the idea of having his name in lights or anything like that, ruling from the shadows was really far more easy. But... Here, in this place, it is a possibility. He could easily be the captain here, have his own crew and generally, well, fuck things up. Or he could let someone else have the title, someone easy to manipulate and do it himself. He does know, however, that he wouldn't be able to go at it alone.
Rayleigh on a ship without anyone else? That's a recipe for disaster and he knows it far to well. He's more likely to crash three miles out and have to swim back and get another one. He pinches his brow briefly and taps the index finger of his other hand sharply against the table.
A massive hassle, this is what this is. He is supposed to be retired, retired and living the rest of his life peacefully, sleeping with random women, drinking himself stupid, gambling himself into debt and coating ships to still be a thorn. It's still thrilling enough, though, gets his old heart thumping and really, who was he to deny the call of the sea? He slicks his hand over the top of the journal he was given and huffs a laugh.
Well, at least he won't be lonely he supposes.

Not if Marco has anything to say about it, and as it happens, Marco has a lot to say about it.
But first, he greets Rayleigh in the traditional way:
With a kick aimed straight to the old man's head.
It's for riling up Thatch, really. Sure it was too easy to pass up, and sure it might have even been too fun, but Thatch was Marco's even as far as trolling purposes went, and Marco was terrible at sharing his treasure. Especially with a pirate from another crew.
Besides, he knew that even with doing his best to mask his haki there was no chance in hell he was going to take the Dark King by surprise.

But he does spot Rayleigh, and remembering what Nami said and how much he owes the guy anyway, he grins and hops up on the stool beside him.
"Yo! It's been a long time, na!"

Far end of the Docks
After some time, his confusion grew to worry. He hadn't seen any sign of Mula since his awakening and there wasn't a lot of information being given to him. It was then that he opened the odd book that he finally noticed had been added to his things and began to read.
Anyone can find him in the middle branches of a tree on the far end of the docks, alternately reading and observing the people coming and going from the ships. He stands out due to the orange and red clothes he wears and their obvious differences from the local attire.

Around Town - OTA
In the meantime, she'd found an inn and was able to freshen up while there, so now she was ready to check out the rest on Isla Empieza. So she could be found wandering the town, maybe stopping in a few stores to get some fresh clothes and other supplies that she'd need when she got out to sea. But for now, she was just taking it easy.
Feel free to make things difficult for her.]

Nice tattoo, yoi.
Family emblem?
[His own tattoo, of course, is completely on display, and he sounds fairly relaxed all things considered. Much too much like he belongs here.]

OTA
Foregoing any illusion of conspicuousness, the man in blue leaped high into the air. Very high. Far higher than anyone should really be capable of. He spun about as he descended, causing a great whirlwind that drew up the water from the fountain around him. Once he landed, he pulled out his fans which seemed to transform into gigantic versions of themselves as he swung them into a pose. The swinging itself cast the winds out even harder, tossing up the fountain water so high into the air that it came down in a gentle rain. Which he was ready for, as in the blink of an eye the fans were transformed into a parasol, shielding Anji from the gentle downpour.
"Presenting! The Great and Incomparable Mitooo-Anjiii-saaan!" said with what could only be described as a shit eating grin.
"If that impressed you, surely you will see that I am invaluable to any potential crew! Please form a line with your offers, ha ha!" Was this guy... for real?

And it was a show. Who in their right mind would TRY to bring attention to them like that? She leaned back, legs dangling over the roof and seated like a bot, watching the goof announce his greatness. "Wow..."
Haruta looked like a young boy dressed in green and white with blue shoes swaying in the air. She was far enough not to get soaked, but some of the down fall of water hit her anyhow. Not that she seemed annoyed. Lifting her hands she clapped, slowly. Not so impressed and not lining up in any line to make an offer. Still, she clapped for the show. That was interesting.
Is this guy for real?

Maybe someone he knew was here. Probably not, but this seemed like a good spot to sit to observe. The center of bustling activity meant if someone he recognized was here, they'd pass him.
Really, Chipp just looked bored.

This was suspicious. Really suspicious. She passed the fountain, giving it a weird look (the woman was mermaid... it reminded her of someone she knew...) and headed towards where the real bustle and noise is in places like this.
The docks.
OTA
At least Mona Lisa had some cash on her. She hoped it would be enough for her to get by as she figured out what the heck was going on.
Looking around, she didn't have any idea of where to go. So instead, she just flagged out the person closest to her. "Hey pal, do you have a moment? I'm kind of lost over here."

When she turned to face the other woman her wide eyes were slightly glazed, and her voice was almost a whisper.
"...What?"

[there's a bloody and battered guy lying here on the street. he seems like he might be unconscious, but a quick look should show he's still breathing, at least. a closer bit of poking and prodding will likely even elicit some moans of pain, so maybe he isn't completely unconscious. at any rate, it doesn't look like he's going anywhere anytime soon]
[the question is, do you try to help? or mind your business and just walk on by?]

Logically, the latter made very little sense for him, and as he drug himself fully awake - not a difficult thing, since his rest the night before had been extremely rocky, what with the fear of being found by Lusitanians - and began to explore the town, he was convinced something very odd had occurred.
So by the time he had finally decided to settle down to rest and take things in, so to speak, he was utterly confused and aware of only as much as anyone thrown into this would be; which meant, basically nothing.
Sighing, he settled himself down near the fountain, seeing as the locals mostly avoided it, but it still allowed him to watch them. As soon as he sat, however, he raised his arm up just a little and watched as an eagle, which had been following him from the sky the whole time he was wandering, alighted on the metal guard he wore.
He seemed completely unconcerned with whether anyone would consider it strange or not, and merely spoke to the eagle. "Can you figure out any better what has happened than I have, Azrael?"

But the bird... that was something she could understand. Something she could follow. Imagine her disappointment when it only led her here, to its human captor. The world was a cage.
Phoenix cocked her head at the bird, wondering if it were happy. If it even wanted to leave.
"They don't make very good pets, you know."
