Riddle Me This
Who: The Contestants!
Where: A certain villa on an undisclosed island
When: May 30th-June 1st
What: Contests and Schmoozing with a chance at a prize or two
Warnings: Your usual
Status: Closed
Contestants will be able to use the Nav (regardless of when they last used it) to port over to the villa early in the morning on the 30th, though the contest won't start until mid-afternoon and carry into the evening until it's cut off for a formal dinner.
On the 31st, the schedule is much the same, mixed with a leisurely morning breakfast. Midafternoon the contest will recommence and that evening there will be a celebratory dinner out near the reflecting pool.
On the 1st, participants will be given another breakfast and will be able to wrap up what they've got going on, but will be shuffled off the island by mid-afternoon.
Contestants are able to have the run of the house and the grounds, but if they persist in trying to go beyond the terracotta walls that surround the estate, they will be disqualified and sent back to their ship.

[she smiles at her for a beat too long with shadowed eyes]
Tell me, if you gathered all the shards, what would your desire be?
[is it a test? Or a simple question?]
no subject
That is a question for the future, and I cannot speak for my motivations then.
[She takes a breath, holds it, and releases it slowly, the decision made.]
However, if the last shard were to come into my possession this day and the ruby completed, I-
[It was hard to admit to her own nakama that she wanted to live and sail with them, high on the precipice of a tower as they gathered for war beneath her. Moreso now, among strangers and rivals, to lay out the inner workings of her soul for all to see- though she imagines the others will feel similarly and find nothing remarkable in her answer. Best carry on then.]
I would wish for everyone's freedom.
[Freedom to return home if they want, freedom to stay. They could remember their lives here if they wanted, or they could forget. But that is idle chit-chat for a hypothetical which is unlikely to occur. Even if she already has one shard in her keeping.]

[still, she's smiling, though her exact expression may be difficult to tell]
But for the ones who refused to kill where killing wasn't necessary I suppose foolishness is a way of life.
[she shifts her weight]
Your prize is partly there.
[gestures. It is a small silk bag, with gold dubloons equalling 20,000. More importantly, it rests on top of a volume bound in black calf skin. In it contains some information to all the islands known currently, as well as a few maps, and logs of journals written in silver ink.]
And here is your burden.
[and she holds out a box, small enough to only hold a ring. What is inside is a shard, a little smaller then average and gleaming faintly]
That will be two for you, will it not?
[closing the box she holds it out]
Try not to get yourselves eviscerated.

[Robin's eyes narrow at the Lady declaring her number of shards so openly- that was supposed to be a secret, curse it all! But the Lady's admonition wrenches a genuine smile from her face as she accepts both reward and burden.]
We'll do our best, I'm sure. But you never can tell with a moron for a captain.

Wind at your sails and fair seas.
[and she raises her head]
And to all of ye. Try not ta let those rat bastards get ye down!
[and with that she turns, pulling the hood up over her hair and walks away, fading into the dark as if she hadn't been there at all]

Perhaps our lady in grey is a dog in grey...

[Robin giggles, suddenly feeling very at the front of the room on a raised dais, holding a treasure people have been known to kill for. She sprouts eyes in various parts of the room, literally one for every person, then calmly turns and gathers the rest of her newly acquired things and heads for the door.]

[When the woman left he started to come towards Robin, to congratulate her yet again, and paused as the flashy guy spoke. Then Robins comment? He got serious real fast.]
[When she gathered her things and started to leave, Bepo came with, giving the others a careful glance, before trotting along behind her a few steps, whispering.]
Are we ready to leave now, because I am. [voice low but deep, and .... and he was curious about that egg. That could be a problem in times to come.]
no subject
Just stay close to me? I've got a few things I'd like to follow up in the library. But now that the shard is in my possession, I imagine the friendly part of this competition has concluded.
no subject
Just let me know what I can do to help. [Otherwise he would stick by her and though she won't need protecting, he’ll put up a fight first if he needs to.]

Even after victory, she wounds me so! Well met, my lady. As for this egg, worry not. I said I'd keep it safe and so shall it be kept. Mito Anji-san is a man of his word!
no subject
We're counting on you!
no subject
Ah... we should really get back to our ships, of course... our alliance may be strong, but you'll forgive me if I don't have as much faith in some of the others.
