What:  A combination log to include the following subjects:
             Welcoming a new crew member!!!
             A Casual Dinner Conversation
             The Tragedy of Eternal Bliss
The copycat destruction of Deesuko Ballia
             And whatever else comes up~!

Warnings: Shouldn't be too bad towards the beginning. Language might become an issue in places XD. Pg-13!

When everyone had returned to their own ages, it had been expected by some that things would return to some semblance of normalcy. Unfortunately, there had been a slight hiccup in that plan but by roughly the 7th or 8th that too was put right. The stop at Himmelin had also afforded the crew an opportunity to break into a new line of trading that should fill their pockets with dubloons given enough time and the right connections.

With this stroke of good fortune.. surely more was to come........

Before Kodachi too, I take it?

Hawke was settling into the ship fairly well, mostly because she was willing to do anything that was necessary. She didn't shirk from dirty or onerous tasks. It was a trait that had been useful more than once in her life; people were much more willing to accept you if you did the work they did. If it was boring, well, for now that was fine; she had a lot to think about, and straightforward physical labor was almost welcome.

Though as she'd noticed before, during her brief stay on Isabela's ship: it was amazing how much of keeping a ship working involved scrubbing things. Constantly.

Fortunately she was off duty at the moment, and like Elissa, preferred to spend any time she could outside. Upon hearing her name called, she shielded her eyes with one hand and looked up, though it was obvious who was hailing her. "I haven't got much but time, since getting here," she called back. "Assuming our captain hasn't got something for me to do, that is. Am I supposed to clamber up there or are you going to come down?"

She could clamber up there, but it didn't look a very comfortable place for a conversation. Granted, secretly, Hawke was wary of talking to Elissa. She did want to, very much; Elissa was the only person from her home, and seemed a likeable person in her own right to boot. The awe Hawke had felt about talking to the Hero of Ferelden had faded pretty quickly given that Elissa was an ordinary woman (well, not ordinary, but still) and entirely unaware of her own reputation. Plus, Hawke had a reputation of her own, and knew how little it meant.

But at the same time, things had the potential to become...seriously awkward. Hawke knew a number of things about Elissa's future, Thedas' future, and mutual companions, that she really didn't want to discuss. Fortunately, Elissa knew nothing at all about them, and wouldn't know what questions to ask (or rather, not ask). But for Hawke, the awareness was there.

It was also something she knew she'd just have to get used to, however.

Elissa replied with actions rather than words, climbing down the ladder-like web of the rigging until she reached the rail where she swung to the inside and dropped to the deck. It had taken a good six months, but she was finally starting to move with ease in the upper portions of the ship and her arms felt stronger than they ever had during the Blight. With a grin that was almost impish, she made her way closer to the other Fereldan.

"You seem far more at home aboard a ship than I did when I first arrived. Don't tell me that you managed to learn how to sail in Lothering of all places?"

Hawke chuckled. "Not Lothering, no." The small farming village she'd mostly grown up in was landlocked, a small pocket of nowhere in the middle of Ferelden. One of the last places anyone could learn to sail anything.

"But just before being brought here, I'd been living on a ship. For a few weeks." Her mouth quirked; a number of the things they had in common she didn't particularly want to discuss, but this one was safe enough. "I think you met the captain, once. Isabela? Rivaini pirate and duelist, outrageous attitude, equally outrageous cleavage?"

The other woman's expression became a rather amusing mix of embarrassment and a wicked grin. "We... met, yes," Elissa agreed in a tone that was far too mild for the grin she sported. "She taught me several things - some of them even about dueling."

Elissa stopped very suddenly and squinted at Hawke. "Wait. Female... and a rogue." She started to say something, but stopped herself. Then, with a shrug, she said it anyway. "Was she in love with you? I mean, where you were. You see, she was here for a time and, well... it's rather complicated, but you were here as well. In a way."

Male and a mage with a magnificent beard, but still.

Oh, Hawke knew that expression. That was definitely the expression of people who had 'met' Isabela. She chuckled.

But her amusement turned at once into astonishment. "In--? No, I'm sure she wasn't." Hawke leaned back, astonishment gradually fading into a quiet, concentrated look. "You said something about that before, about me being here before. But I don't remember that at all. I can't see how Isabela could have been, either." Unless it happened during the years after the Qunari invasion, when Isabela had left Kirkwall. But surely she would have mentioned a place as mad as this.

Hawke grimaced. This could go nowhere good. "I have the feeling you're going to tell me a number of impossible things, and given that we've all been kidnapped by Davy Jones my definition of impossible is being stretched lately. So, you might as well just be blunt about it. I was here, and Isabela, and Anders, you said? What did they--we--tell you? What happened?"

Elissa took a moment to rub at her forehead, trying to gather the words that might make the explanation easier. "The Warden Isabela knew was not me. Anders knew me - or so he said - but I had never met him until he came to heal me from being shot. He also called me 'Commander' and that was amusing. There was another Warden here as well - an elven mage who had been recruited from the Circle. Apparently, my entire family had perished in his world..."

With an almost apologetic expression, she knew this was going to be as difficult to make sense of for Hawke as it had been for herself. "The Hawke that I met? Was a rather handsome fellow. A mage. His name, I believe, was Garrett, though we all called him Hawke. He knew Isabela, but she didn't know him because her Hawke was a lady rogue. You see, it seems there can be many different variations of the land we both know as home."

Well. That...was a lot to digest.

Hawke mulled over it for several minutes, running through the various possibilities and implications. It gave her a headache.

A world where she was male. Another world where she'd been in love with Isabela, instead of Anders. Was there a third where she'd sided with the Templars, at that fatal moment? She couldn't imagine any world where that was possible.

Was there a world where her mother and Carver were still alive? Or her father?

Hawke sighed, rubbing her forehead. "That's...very strange. I do believe you, don't get me wrong. Might as well, given the other impossible things here. But I don't think I can act on any of that, and it's just going to twist my head around trying to work it out." She shrugged. "If I run across any of those differences, I'll deal with them as they happen. Where I'm from..." She hesitated, choosing her words. "You were the one who defeated the Archdemon, or someone with your name, anyway; I never met you personally, though we had some friends in common. Or will have." A grin touched the edge of her mouth. "And Isabela and I were just friends, though admittedly friends who flirted like mad. Hard not to, with Isabela."

She had enough might-have-beens to haunt her as it was. There was no sense in adding to them.

"Tis a lot to take in, I know, especially after being brought here in the first place," Elissa offered in sincere apology. "At least I have yet to hear of a Ferelden that completely fell to the Blight." Her voice got quieter. "...Or of an instance where my family lived."

Frowning at herself, the Warden lifted her hands and waved them as if to shoo off such dark thoughts. "So, your world might be mine? I like that. I hope so, even though you never saw me to know for certain. It is wonderful to have someone else from Ferelden here - and with a Mabari! I swear the absence of Mabari has been the worst thing about being in this place."

She stopped to grin, "I suppose that truly does make me a dog lord, doesn't it?"

Hawke hesitated. Elissa had said she didn't want to know anything of her future. But...

"Your brother was alive, where I'm from," she said in a low voice. "He'd disappeared during the Blight, I know, but he was found after the Archdemon's defeat. Last I heard he was Teyrn of Highever."

Perhaps knowing that would make things harder. But Hawke knew that if she were in Elissa's shoes, she'd want to know, even if there was nothing that could be done about it. Especially if there was any chance they came from the same place.

Elissa went very still for just a moment as her breath caught. Fergus. Alive. Teyrn of Highever. Fergus. Alive. "I am not the last Cousland," she murmured to herself as her expression brightened. "I am not the last Cousland," she repeated in a louder and more enthusiastic tone. "I am not the last Cousland!" Elissa crowed at Hawke while reaching out as if to clasp the other woman's shoulders.

"Fergus! Fergus is alive! Ha ha! There will be more of us! Good, old, stubborn, beautiful, obnoxious, beloved Fergus! Did he find a new wife? Oh, I hope so. For lots and lots of babies. Cousland babies," the Warden exulted while trying to dance Hawke around the deck in glee. "I take back everything bad I ever said about the Maker - maybe he does listen to prayers! Fergus! Ha ha!"
