A Morning Meeting
Who: Natsuno, Elissa, Sora, Riku
When: The morning after arrival
Where: Shipyard
What: Natsuno is interested in hiring Elissa for a job.
Warnings: Discussion of death/killing. Possibly more warnings to come.
Open or Closed: Closed, sorry.
Natsuno was waiting at the entrance to the shipyards, standing against a tree. His arms were crossed, he looked nonchalant. He was keeping his eyes open for a woman in blue armor.
Most notably about Natsuno, aside from his terrible taste in fashion, was the fact he was only sixteen years old. His eyes were darting around, keeping an eye open for anything out of place. He'd met Sora previously and had said he would go off with him, but this, this is what he had been waiting for.
Despite his outward appearance, he couldn't completely quell his nervousness. He swallowed a few times and waited for Elissa.

Her gloved hand drifted as if to settle upon his shoulder once again. "My entire life was shattered in a matter of hours when I was little older than you. Believe me when I say that I wanted to die. I did not choose the path that was set before me just as I did not choose to awaken in this place - but others needed me more than I needed to escape, so I did what had to be done and I lived. You, too, can do this."
She inclined her head toward Sora and Riku. "Here are two friends who wish for you to remain and to help them despite your newfound curse. Could you not at least try this new life in this new place before giving it up? I promise you - If, within a month's time, you still desire death, I shall grant it."

A vampire.
Okay then.
Riku tried really hard not to summon his Keyblade purely out of habit. It wasn't like Yuuki was really doing them any harm... The opposite, actually, he seemed to be worried he WOULD harm them. That meant he was, technically, not a bad guy, right? Riku could see the reasoning behind trying to get someone to kill him...a little. Still, surely it would be worth it for him to at least try to learn to control his urges? Instead of making himself permanently disappear in such a drastic way?
He nodded his head in Elissa's direction after she spoke. "Yeah, what she said. Vampire or not... Look, Sora and I can handle ourselves. You shouldn't worry about—" Accidentally killing us, biting us, drinking all our blood...? "Uh...hurting us. It's really not worth it to just give up and let someone kill you. At least try to make do with the bad cards life deals you."
no subject
Still, though.
What about anyone that might miss Yuuki? Yuuki had said, when they first met, that he isn't looking for anyone. That doesn't mean this guy doesn't have at least one person that would miss him, more than anything. Everyone has someone that would be sad, if they were to die.
"You're being selfish," Sora states rather bluntly, with a frown, "I'll bet you have someone that would miss you. Did you ever stop to think about how your death would make others feel? I haven't know you that long, but I know... I'd be sad if you gave up and died. Not just for you, though, but for the people you'd leave behind. Don't you have at least one person waiting for you, back home?"
no subject
"I suppose I don't have much of a choice." He told Elissa, because he didn't think he could manage it himself, but that did give him somewhere to go in a month's time.
Naturally he had to address his two new...friends...so he turned his attention to them, closing his eyes and sighing. They were quite persistent.
"I don't want to attack anyone." Natsuno pushed his hair out of his eyes before letting it fall back into place. "I don't feel I'm giving up, this life as you put it, isn't really being alive. I died for more than a day."
He shook his head at Sora though, his eyes a little downcast. "No, there isn't anyone to miss me, no one is waiting for me at home. What happened...you can't imagine it."
no subject
It would have been prudent to remain the semi-anonymous 'EC' from the journal communications, but she was beginning to feel a form of kinship with the desperate teenaged boy.
no subject
Riku grinned a little.
"Also, he's stubborn. He's got that look in his eyes, so you might as well just go along with him. Us."
no subject
Then, he frowned at the part about him being stubborn and having a 'look in his eyes'. Sora quickly shot Riku a sideways glance, and verbalized his disapproval on his best friend's 'Sora analysis'.
"Heeey... What look?"
There was no point in arguing the part of being stubborn, though. That was true, after all. Sora looked to Yuuki for a moment, pausing before saying the next thing on his mind, "I don't know how powerful you are, but if it helps... We're definitely not push-overs," he gestured from Riku to himself, "In fact, we recently fought, and defeated, a really powerful guy!"
He then grinned, a bit, "Also, Riku's right. I am pretty stubborn," he said this with a playful, since he really just wanted to cheer this guy up.
Sora's newest goal (besides the obvious find a ship and get back home)? Make Yuuki do something besides look incredibly depressed.
no subject
"I won't do anything right now. I don't think I can do it myself anyway. Takes a lot of force."
He put the stake back inside his jacket.
no subject
She slowly grinned. "If not, you know how to contact me."
no subject
He glanced back at Yuuki, still somewhat wary but mostly relieved that he'd put the stake away. "It's a good choice, not going through with it." And then, after a slight pause, he kind of mutters under his breath, "And an even better choice, not doing it yourself..."
no subject
He said that more to himself, than anyone else, before listening to Riku's next words. The last sentence had the brunette slightly narrowing his eyes, the ghost of a frown on his face. Looking down, Sora shifted in his stance one more time and lowered his arms, "So... what now?"
At least that was over with. He silently celebrated the fact that Yuuki had listened to them, which was actually a very difficult thing to not do out loud.
no subject
There were a few things running through his mind and he pushed his hair out of his eyes. Natsuno needed time to think, and contemplate the consequences of the outcome of this. He was supposed to at least live another month. His mind was racing.
He crossed his arms over his stomach and shook his head. "I'll see you later." He had to get away from them for a little bit, and he started to walk up the path. Natsuno was upset, but hopefully it would pass.
no subject
"Until we meet again, gentlemen?" she offered.
no subject
"Uh, yeah... Sorry, I don't think I caught your name?"
no subject
"I am known as the Grey Warden and you are... Riku, correct?" Her eyes shifted to his friend. "And you are Sora." She grinned just a little. "What a mop of hair."
no subject
"Uh... yeah, I'm Sora."
He ran a hand through his hair, frowning. She confused him, actually. He felt like he should be thinking of her as a bad guy, yet she was kind of friendly.
"Why would you... agree to do something like that?"
Sora was referring to the task of killing Yuuki. What reasoning could anyone have to willingly kill another person, simply because they requested it?
no subject
"When I agreed to meet him, I did not know that he was the person he wanted me to kill. In fact, he worded his message so carefully, that I could but assume that was the sort of task he had in mind at all."
With easy, unhurried movements, the young woman approached Sora and the hunting knife that still rested point-down in the ground.
Haaaaa...so late, SORRY. >.>
"Okay, so even if you didn't know he wanted you to kill him, you still met up with him thinking that he wanted you to kill somebody."
Which wasn't exactly reassuring.
no subject
"Yes. I did. The pair of you may have led exceptionally blessed lives that kept you from ever suffering so much that you would wish another person dead. I have not been so blessed. If he had needed vengeance against another so much that it required death, then better for me to provide it than for him to soil his hands. My hands, after all, are already tainted."
/dire need of angry!Sora icons ha ha...
What... did she just say...?
His breath hitched as his body tensed a bit. Blessed lives? Sora actually... wanted to laugh at that. Narrowing his eyes, he fought to remain calm. She doesn't know what they have been through, right? So yelling at her would be ... stupid. Still, his heart raced as his teeth clenched together.
"Don't talk like you know us."
That came out a little harsher than he intended, actually. Suffering? Sora had been fairly acquainted with that, at one point, actually. Fighting against his best friend, turning himself into a heatless to save Kairi, fighting to save all of those worlds, and... not to mention, at one point, almost doubting he would ever even see Riku again. And, then... Speaking of Riku...
... He had suffered just as much, if not...maybe even a bit more. Knowing he had done all of those things... surely, that was painful. Suddenly, Sora's hands are tightened into fists, just a bit. She could say whatever she wanted about .... him. Riku, though... You don't talk about him, like that.
no subject
"You have no idea what we've been, through," he said, after Sora finished speaking. "And yeah, I guess we don't really know what he's been through, either, or you, but don't think you can just judge us like that. So maybe he's suffering, you know, I get that. But I'm assuming you're new to this place, too, and you can't know his situation that well. To just go along with it when someone asks you to murder them -- it's irresponsible. That guy...no one should let the darkness inside them win that easily. Sometimes you have to fight through the parts of life that are total crap, no matter how hard it is."
no subject
The armored woman pushed to her feet and slid her hunting knife into the sheath at her belt. She did not hesitate to meet the gaze of each young man in turn.
"Think about what was said. Are your memories so short? I did not refuse employment because that would mean he would simply find another to do the job. Instead, I told him to wait for a month. An entire month to experience this world and what it has to offer. An entire month for people like you to convince him that he should not throw away his life when he has been given a clean slate and a fresh start."
"Judge me as you will, but I am not the monster you think me to be."
no subject
He folds his arms over his chest, and gives her a frown. She may be wrong about killing people, period. She had a point, though. Yuuki could have gone to someone else, but she had given them a month. Better than nothing, right? Still, though...
"Also, our memory's aren't that bad, actually. Sure, you made the deal about waiting a month, with him. But as I remember it, you had asked 'how much' after knowing what Yuuki wanted you do! Not to mention, all the whispering you were doing! We don't know what you were saying to him... or that we can even trust a word you're saying, now."
What if Sora hadn't shown up...? They don't know her, at all. If she's willing to kill, period, just because someone pays her... how do they know she wouldn't have done it... if Sora hadn't shown up when he did? Unfortunately, they could never know that.
For now, he'll simply have to let it go. She's promised to wait a month. Sora will figure something out, between now and then. He has to...
no subject
Well, whatever. Nothing had happened, maybe they could just move on from this.
Riku gave an annoyed sigh.
"Yeah, what Sora said. But fine, I told you not to judge us, so...I'll try not to judge you unfairly, either."
no subject
Crossing her wrists over her chest, the Grey Warden gave them both a slight bow from the waist. "Sora. Riku. Farewell."
... Sorry, it doesn't ever notify me when you reply, Elissa-mun. D:
