Just Gotta Keep Sailin The Quartz
Who: Straw Hat Pirates, possible Bloody Roses Pirates
Where: Sailing log from 7/7- 7/10, Isla de Quarzo Rosa 7/10-7/12
What: The first leg of the race
Warnings: The usual
Status: Semi-open to the Bloody Roses.
Pls date your threads.
Bloody Roses, how close we're sailing is up to you guys though probably not enough to just casually swing over without some ability. However, feel free to come encounter us at any time on the island!
Straw Hats, enjoy the veggie rain! Also remember our NPC pirates are Mama's Bone Boys who will attack us intermittently throughout the journey and send spies on board. Let's save the major boss battles til the finale, though, shall we? But otherwise, have fun!

Uhm, I'm not sure... I mean, Luffy told me that I'd only be allowed on the crew if Elsa agreed, so I assume he's talked to her, but I... I haven't talked to her yet... Or even seen her, really... [There's an obvious attempt going on to keep a smile on her face. But it slowly falls, as does her gaze. The longer she goes without seeing Elsa, the more worried she's getting.] She might be avoiding me...
no subject
[He gives a one-shouldered shrug, leaning his hip up against the railing of the ship and sliding his hands into his pockets.]
But if Luffy said that and then ended up inviting you on, then he definitely got the okay from her. Heh, and this ship ain't that big, not like she'll be able to stay out of your way for long. So maybe she just needed a minute before seeing you. She's around somewhere, though.
[He glances back toward the girls' cabin, before looking at Anna again.]
She told me some of what went down back at that shitty party. Where her powers were revealed and all? Tough break... Anyway, shit, haven't even introduced myself, sorry -- I'm Sanji! Pirate chef extraordinaire and the best damn cook on all the seas~

She looks down at her feet, shifting one of her braids over her shoulder. The look of sadness she has on her face though changes into a confused frown, and she looks back up at him.] Wait, is that... Is that the last thing she remembers? From back home?
1/2
...Guess it's not the last thing you remember, then.
[Hmm. That might make things...interesting. He assumes Hans must've been the guy Anna wanted to marry, and hearing that he's a jerk makes Sanji frown. Something clearly happened, and if that guy hurt her then Sanji wants to kick his ass.
Even though he's only known Anna for like five minutes.]
Ah, well...I'll let you talk to your sister about all that. Sounds like you'll have a lot to share with her.
[Even though he wants to knooow. Elsa had seemed pretty convinced that it was hopeless and everyone in her kingdom thought she was a monster.]

In any case -- don't worry! Love's a wily temptress. Oh so enchanting, but hard to conquer. Sometimes she sneaks up on you, sometimes you catch her every day, and sometimes she trips you up. But it's always a learning process, there ain't a single person alive who knows all there is to know about love.
1/2
Anna takes a look around her suddenly, even though it's not exactly necessary in order to tell that there's not an eternal winter going on. So Elsa had either already learned how to control her powers, or she wasn't so afraid any more. Which was good, it made Anna less worried about her, but... But it also sort of made her feel like maybe she didn't need Anna so much. And that's something she's not quite sure how she feels about. It's... a little terrifying, actually. Because that's what had pushed them forward, wasn't it? Because Elsa had needed her help?]
no subject
Thank you, that's... That's reassuring to hear. [And it is. It honestly is.]
no subject
Anna-chwan's smile is so pretty~!!! You hungry at all, Anna-chan? Because I can make you anything you want!
[He gestures toward the galley.]
Your sister seems awfully fond of all things chocolate, how about you?
no subject
Glancing down at the flower he'd given her that she's still holding in her hand, she takes a second to tuck it behind her ear.
Her eyes practically light up at the mention of chocolate.] Of course! I love chocolate.
no subject
What would you like? Are you hungry at all? Or do just want a drink or a snack?
[Once inside, he pulls out a chair for her at the table.]
And, ah...
[Shit, he'd told himself not to pry, but...]
Is what you have to tell Elsa-san bad?
no subject
Oh. Well... I mean, if the ball is the last thing she remembers, then... Uhm...
[She looks back up at him, head tilted slightly to one side, one shoulder raised a bit, the fingers of one hand fidgeting with the fingers of the other.]
Th-there are good and bad things?
[That sentence was definitely punctuated with a question mark, it could be heard in her voice, like she's asking him if maybe she shouldn't tell Elsa the bad things. Though, in not doing so, the good things would be a little harder to explain...]
no subject
[And he spins off to start making that, moving quickly around the kitchen as he gathers up ingredients and starts stirring things together in a saucepan over the stove.
He glances back at Anna as she speaks, then makes a thoughtful sound and lets out a soft laugh.]
Well. That's life, right? Good and bad things? Long as the good outweigh the bad, you're usually alright.
[Hesitates, before continuing.]
I didn't wanna be too fuckin— [Gah, wait, princess, right. Language.] ...freaking nosy, so don't feel like you gotta tell me anything. Guess I'm just. I'm hoping things turned out alright. Somehow. Even if maybe it took awhile.
no subject
She looked back up again, watching him stir the hot chocolate on the stove. The language she was already getting fairly used to, though this is the first time any of them had used that particular swear word. The fact that he instantly tried to censor himself for her though, she thought that was nice of him.]
It's okay. And they did! Turn out all right. Back home, anyway, but... It took. Well, there were kind of... extreme circumstances... that made things turn out all right, so.. I'm not sure if the same can happen here.
no subject
Extreme circumstances... I know she's scared of her powers, makes sense it would take a lot for her to come to terms with 'em. You know, she actually almost didn't come with us. Luffy had to convince her it'd be okay if she ever did something to one of us. She wanted to make sure we had a way out. But we haven't had any issues, no unexpected shitty snowstorms or whatever. I get why she was worried, but I think she was so focused on being worried that she never stopped to consider having an ability like that might just be okay.
Marshmallows?
[Gestures at the mug.]
no subject
[She sighs, bringing her hands up to rest her chin in her palms.]
But it's nice to know that she hasn't accidentally caused any trouble! I mean she did sort of put Arendelle into a deep freeze for a while there...
[She still feels mildly responsible, because it had been her actions that had set Elsa off, but... Really, how was she supposed to have known? She hadn't even been aware Elsa had powers like that.]
And it is okay! When she's able to control it, she can make such beautiful things... And she was even able to bring a snowman to life!
[She blinks, forgetting for a second that he's talking about the hot chocolate.] Oh! Right, yes, please. [She gives him another smile.]
no subject
It shouldn't be overly hot, but be careful anyway, Anna-chan.
[He winks at her, then gets a thoughtful look.]
I've seen some of the things she can make. We had an incident here... [Shakes his head a bit, looking momentarily amused.] Half the crew somehow got turned into kids. Heh, there were shitty brats running around everywhere for a few days. Except me. I got to play babysitter. Thought I was gonna pull all my damn hair out by the end of it.
But your sister...she was different from how she is as an adult. She was happy to use her powers. We practically had a winter wonderland thing going on to keep all the shrimps entertained, and she wasn't worried about it at all.
[Chuckles a little.]
She seemed happy.
no subject
Ohhh, right, I heard about the kid thing. I didn't know that had happened to Elsa too though!
[She sets the mug down on the table, hands wrapped around it, looking into it as she thinks.] Yeah, we were really close when we were younger... I remember playing in the snow with her a lot. But... I don't remember her having ice powers at that age...
[She takes another sip from the mug, this time actually tasting the hot chocolate. Instantly a smile spreads across her face.] Mm. It's good!
no subject
Then he blinks.]
...You don't remember her having ice powers back then? Seriously?
[Because bitty Elsa hadn't seemed at all surprised to have them. She'd been pretty good with them, actually.]
no subject
no subject
I knew she had to keep them hidden, but I thought...
[Actually, he doesn't know what he thought. He thinks back, trying to remember the specifics of the conversation he'd had with Elsa about all of this. He knew her powers were revealed at that shitty party, and that it was a shock for everyone there, but hadn't she also said...?]
She said you loved to play with her when you were young. And watch her do magic.
[He frowns a little.]
But there was something about an accident. And...
[And magic creatures that had healed her. Maybe the accident caused her to lose her memories somehow? Elsa had said it could've been fatal if her ice had hit Anna's heart after all, rather than just her head.
He peers at Anna suddenly.]
Aren't you supposed to have a lock of white hair?
no subject
When it's mentioned, she picks up her right braid on reflex, even though, no, the white streak is no longer there.]
Oh, did Elsa tell you that? Yeah, I had it for as long as I can remember but, uhm, recently I don't anymore... [Obviously.] Because of those, uh, extreme circumstances.. that I was talking about...
no subject
[Ah, right, those extreme circumstances. Sanji tips his head a bit, still wondering about them, but after a moment he just smiles.
He's not going to push for more information. The poor girl only just got here, and she doesn't really even know Sanji, he doesn't need to pry for her entire life's story right now.]
I hope you get a chance to talk to her soon. Eh, I bet she won't be able to stay away for too long.
[Attempting to sound certain and reassuring about this!]
no subject
I hope so. But it's only one ship, surrounded by ocean, so I'm sure I'll see her soon.
no subject
Well, in the meantime... Welcome aboard! Have you met anyone else yet?
