Hazmats vs Shepherds
Who: Hazmat crew, Shepherds of racing justice, and the Red Eyes (NPC crew)
Where: at sea, and then on Safario Island
When: 7/6 through 7/31 ALL MONTH, ALL RACE
What: the entirety of the racing shenanigans for these two crews plus their NPC foes. First sailing to Safario, then to Ebony & Ivory, and then a final climactic showdown on Dnalsi.
Warnings: let me know if any besides shounen violence
Style: anything you want
Status: closed to members of Hazmat and Shepherd crews
Considering that the Friend Ship set out safely and securely after the race's start, the U.S.S. Booyakasha II had a bit of a head start at first, but between Scurvey Dog's delightful gift of chickens and the ensuing vegetable rain, they slowed down after the first day. Will it be for long, considering they have an Avatar on board? Let's find out!
The first token is located on Safario, in the East, a place of bizarre animals and sandy beaches and not a hell of a lot else. Who will have to fight who in order to safely land their ships and find the jerk with the token clue? Can they brave the Red Eyes with their poisoned sabers as well as vicious winged bears? The Shepherds take it, but can they keep it?
From there it's on to the strange island of Ebony & Ivory, where the island itself may not look dangerous but the culture has surprises in store for them. There's a week of strange rainbows and anglerfish to battle on the way to it.
The final stop is the cloud island Dnalsi, where everything is upside down and the laws of physics don't apply. What kind of place is this for a final battle, and who's going to end up with all the tokens? What if it's the Red Eye crew?

[Pushing her hair back in full she rolled her fin under her, and sat up pretty well, for the most part. One hand holding her up. Wide eyes looking at him and around.]
I'm fine, thank you! [Using both harms now she pulled herself up more, looking past the human and over the deck] This is really amazing! A real ship! I've been on one, but never on one. [wait, he mentioned something about a life]
Lifeboat?

I have to take the oars out, but it should be big enough for you to lay down in and keep your tail wet most of the time. In rough seas it'll need to be refilled. Because the water will spill out... but we can do that any time. Or, I can do that.
no subject
It’s wonderful! And I can stay here while on the ship? It’s really alright? [no, really, you couldn’t have made her happier right now. Oh but--] Getting water this far up will be a lot of trouble, wouldn’t it?
no subject
[Wan leaned over the side of the boat, falling half-into it as he grabbed for the oars. Once they were out and set carefully with the rest of the supplies, he backed up to give himself room. The water forms he did probably looked a lot like dancing to her, and it certainly looked like the sea water that rose up over the side of the ship in a controlled funnel was trying to dance with him.
Wan filled the boat until there was about a foot between the top of it and the water. A decent enough gap for the water to move in without spilling every time the ship lurched with the waves. The rest of the water was released back into the sea and Wan jogged over to Ariel, offering his hands.]
Would you like me to help you over? I know it's not the best bedroom, but we can try to get you a nicer one after the race is over.

My father can do stuff like that! You’re amazing! [she chirped, and when he came over to offer her help she blushed a bit, wanting to hide behind her hands or her hair or something, but she gave a nod, taking the offer for his assistance., raising up some to make it easier.
If you don’t mind. Thank you.

[Wan's smile softened a little as he bent down to easily scoop her up in his arms. One going behind her back and the other under her tail. He held her firmly and didn't seem at all troubled by her weight. She was pretty light compared to a lot of the stuff he regularly tossed around.
If he noticed the blush
he's oblivious, he certainly didn't act like it. And he was very gentle as he carried her to the lifeboat. Set up as it was, it actually took a little climbing to get in, but somehow he managed to lift himself up high enough that he could safely lower her into the newly-made water bed.And then he somehow stayed standing up high enough he could lean against the side and watch/talk to her.
He's cloudwalking again.]
I hope this will be good enough for now. I already have some ideas for how to make the ship easier for you to get around on.
no subject
Thank you! This is more then enough for me, you don’t have to go to a lot of trouble. And I’m sure I can get in and out with ease too.
[yes, it was high. He had to climb up here, but--Oh, what is he standing on. She moved near the edge to peek over at his feet, then drew back to give him a questioning look.]

I can control the four elements. Fire, air, water, and earth. Clouds are actually made of water, but I didn't know that before I first tried making the air lift me on one. So it's kind of a habit to get the air to hold me up now. It's easier if there's a lot of water in the air already. I can control both and make the cloud firmer.
[Wan leaned in, whispering conspiratorially.]
I can even make it rain on someone.
no subject
[and as he whispered, she leaned in, as if it were serious, then giggled, a hand over her mouth as he said he could make it rain on someone. Her tail splashed a little bit in the boat, under the water, fin barely coming above. A sign of enjoyment and amusement.]
That sounds exceptionally fun. You must be very good at controlling the elements!
no subject
[Get it? Rocky? Earth? Hahahaha... haha... ha...]
But actually, I'm not a regular human. Most can't do what I can do. At least not in my world. There, I'm the only one that can control all four elements. Oh, but I know there are humans from other worlds who have come here that can do similar things... or even stranger and more fantastic things!
Are you able to do anything like that? Are you a regular... fish-person? What are your people called?
no subject
[So he’s just a human who can do amazing things. How... well, amazing! She’d never met a human recent events, and now she had met a few but this one could do wondrous things.]
Oh, me? No. I can’t really do anything like that. I mean, I can push water, maybe. When I get older. My father is the King of the seas. King Triton? I don’t know if anyone would know him here. He has strong powers with his triton, but he can control water. Otherwise I think most of us are normal? We’re Merfolk. or Merpeople!
[a pause, then... she chuckled, sliding into the water more as if to hide, just a bit] I can sing? That’s about the most I can do. It’s not that special, but it’s fun. [she can also talk to fish but she doesn’t realize that is special...]
no subject
[Wan stuck a hand in the water and started lightly splashing it. It wasn't hard enough to make it a splash fight. It was mostly just idle.]
Singing is pretty special. Will you sing for me?
no subject
[Someone had to explain all that to her.]
[She shifted in the boat to rest her arms on the side of the boat, head tilted, peeking at him as he swished his hand through the water.]
Mmm, I'm not sure how special it is up here. For a while it was outlawed in the kingdom, oh, but it isn't anymore. I'd love to sing for you. [She said it cheerfully, only a slight blush, as really singing wasn't anything to be embarrassed about, at all.]
no subject
[Wan's grin brightened.]
I think it's pretty special. Do you need a beat? I can handle a little drumming.
[He brought his hands up to tap a quick rhythm on the edge of the boat.]
no subject
[Oh but that was a passing thought now, she giggled as he drummed a beat, smiling brightly.] You do know how to play a good beat. [one hand came out to rest on his as she hummed a moment.] How about this instead...
[She hummed again, and a few la la la's, and it slwoly turend to a turn. ...'Oh the waves roll low, and the waves roll high...' --Just a short song, one she thought of as important. It doesn't last long though and as she finishes she grins, slightly embarrassed but very happy.]
no subject
That's really pretty. It's not a very long song, though. It would be nice if it were longer, so you'd keep singing.
no subject
[she was really ridiculously happy about this right now. About all of this. This was too cool and he was really charming and handsome. Sure, she’d sing for him any day.]
no subject
I'll set up this extra equipment so you can use it as stairs to get in and out. The tarp wrapped around it should be enough to hold it safely in place.
no subject
I should be fine. It’s not that far up or down! [she was surprisingly strong in her arms.] Thank you though, for everything! You’ve been more than kind. [more so than she expected humans to be]
no subject
kite spiritswomen.]It'll be safer for you and anyone else trying to get to you when there's a storm. You don't have to use it if you don't want to, though.
[He was already moving to the equipment pile so he could do this for her.]
And you're welcome. If you want to get out and explore, go ahead. This won't take me long.
no subject
So... so this is a human ship? They are not all alike? I have been near one before. On the side of it actually, but still on it. And there is a lot of crew? Do you play music too? [whoops, sorry, a flood of questions as you work]
no subject
no subject
[boats, people, people who are more then people. She really loves it]
no subject
[He wasn't upset at all.]
I'm sure some of them can play music. If not, we can find an island to visit that has music.
