high_seas | Hazmats vs Shepherds

Who: Hazmat crew, Shepherds of racing justice, and the Red Eyes (NPC crew)
Where: at sea, and then on Safario Island
When: 7/6 through 7/31 ALL MONTH, ALL RACE
What: the entirety of the racing shenanigans for these two crews plus their NPC foes. First sailing to Safario, then to Ebony & Ivory, and then a final climactic showdown on Dnalsi.

Considering that the Friend Ship set out safely and securely after the race's start, the U.S.S. Booyakasha II had a bit of a head start at first, but between Scurvey Dog's delightful gift of chickens and the ensuing vegetable rain, they slowed down after the first day. Will it be for long, considering they have an Avatar on board? Let's find out!

The first token is located on Safario, in the East, a place of bizarre animals and sandy beaches and not a hell of a lot else. Who will have to fight who in order to safely land their ships and find the jerk with the token clue? Can they brave the Red Eyes with their poisoned sabers as well as vicious winged bears? The Shepherds take it, but can they keep it?

From there it's on to the strange island of Ebony & Ivory, where the island itself may not look dangerous but the culture has surprises in store for them. There's a week of strange rainbows and anglerfish to battle on the way to it.

The final stop is the cloud island Dnalsi, where everything is upside down and the laws of physics don't apply. What kind of place is this for a final battle, and who's going to end up with all the tokens? What if it's the Red Eye crew?

[ She raises a brow at him. Sometime, she does wonder if respecting elders wasn't part of that ninja training of his. ]

I was talking about that goop, genius. It seems to have some sort of adhesive property. Might be useful.

Well, goop, rainbow goop, rainbows, same thing.

[He shakes one of his hands, trying to get the multicolored sticky stuff off already.]

What would we need tie-dye superglue for? If this even actually sticks, I mean, it's coming off. Sort of.

[SHAKES HARDER.]

If there's one things I learned from travelling all the time, it's that even the weirdest thing can be useful. [ She takes an empty bucket and kicks it towards the front of the deck. ] I mean, if I can make a stink bomb out of that hundred year old perfume Hiccup found in Breakneck Cay, I'm sure I could find some use for liquid rainbow.

[Squints at her a bit.]

Yeah okay, well... You and Donnie.

[Looks away for a second, but then glances back at her.]

That's not my thing, it was his. And yours, I guess. So I'll leave it to you.

So what is your thing, Raph?

[Gives her a sharp grin and pounds his fist into his other palm.]

Punching people. In the face.

Ok, I should have guessed that. So what do you do for fun? There aren't a lot of things you could punch on this...oh! Hold on a sec.

[ Quickly, the trainer takes the coat she had tossed at him earlier and drapes it over the teen's head. She had noticed that they were about to pass through another rainbow and she was sure he didn't want another layer of goop on him.

As for her? Well another layer of glitter won't kill her. It'd just make her hair extra sparkly. ]

Urgh...

[Blinks as there's suddenly a coat over his head. He lifts it up to look at her, then offers it back after they pass through the rainbow.]

Uh...thanks. You're all gloopy now, you wanna...?

[Wipe off. He shakes the coat at her.]

Back home I train a lot. And read my comics and magazines and stuff. And play video games. And watch my brothers watch lame TV shows.

[ She happily takes back her coat and begins to wipe off all the extra goop. At least now she's got a bucket full of rainbow at her disposal. That's gonna be fun to play with. ]

Sounds like my elites...well two of them anyway. When they're not out training and dropping challengers left and right, they usually ruin our villa and raise hell. I'm sure you and your brothers would get along with them.

One of them even has a flaming monkey.

[Forgets everything else she says as soon as that last thing leaves her mouth.]

..........A flaming monkey?

[His eyes light up.]

That is SO COOL.

Yeah, Infernape. It's basically this giant monkey pokemon, about your height, with a flaming head. I think the last time I had to battle that thing. He was able to do thunder punch and...this attack called flame blitz where it charges at you with this gigantic cyclone of fire.

[ She chuckles at the thought of that last battle. ]

Man...that battle was one for the books.

[Flame blitz...gigantic cyclone of fire...ooooohhh.]

These pokemon things are kinda cool, huh? We don't really have anything like that in my world. Unless you wanna play 'collect the mutants' or something.

Well we have about 700 species of pokemon to date, and arceus knows how many more we'll find. I remember Mikey flipped when I told him about the one that looks like a turtle but with giant water canons coming out of it's back.

[Snorts.]

He would. Surprised he didn't try to strap a cannon to his own shell. Heck, it might not be a bad idea.

Blastoise is about twice your size. Heck, it's twice my size. You'd have to strap on some pretty massive canons to have the same power as one.

Which would be so awesome, come on, you gotta admit it would be!

Oh most definitely! But I wasn't blessed with a shell so it wouldn't work with me. You on the other hand...why don't you ask Hiccup to try and make something? He's not Donnie, but he DID make Toothless' tail.

Raphael the Blastoise, I can see it.

[Looks like he's actually thinking about it.]

Wouldn't really work for the whole ninja gig, you know, giant massive guns would be pretty freaking hard to hide. But maybe just for kicks!

Well, my world has other turtle pokemon. There's Torterra, a MASSIVE grass pokemon that literally has a tree and grass growing from its back, and spikes that look like rocks. Smaller pokemon tend to build nests on them. There's also Torkoal, a fire type with a volcano for a shell.

Then there's Carracosta. To get one, you'd have to resurrect it from a fossil...come to think of it. They have these rocky structures on their faces that kind of look like masks too.

See, turtles are awesome. That's why there's so many turtle pokemon.

[Yep.]

Like I said, 700 pokemon. Oh! But there's another one that might interest you. It's not a native to my region, but there's a pokemon called a Greninja. From the name itself, I'm pretty sure you could guess what it is.

[Barks out a laugh.]

Ha! A pokemon with ninja skills?

Mhmm! We have quite a few actually. Heck, I have one right now.
