[he then left her hair alone, sitting in one of the pillows she'd set down] so, this is a kind of saltwater eel that hangs around medium depths... I was lucky to find this one. See, most of them are only big enough to feed maybe one person, but this big guy happened to be really long and thick... So I grabbed him, knowing he's got enough meat on him to satisfy two people. [he said all this rather proudly]
no subject
Heh. Thanks.
*She sat down comfortably, and grinned when he talked about the eel, trying to keep a straight face*
Well, good for you, grabbing something so long and thick. What does it taste like?
*She looked at the plate, a bit unsure about it*
no subject
[shed notice hers was cooked all the way through but still pretty tender and juicy looking with just a hint of charcoal black on the outside. His in the other hand almost looked like he'd taken a blowtorch to it. The outside was more black than not]
Oh and most people don't eat the skin, but sometimes I eat a bit of it
no subject
She nodded, raising a brow over at his, which looked very black*
That's weird. I almost thought you'd prefer your fish much less well done...
*Still a bit unsure, Faye picked up her cutlery, and made a cut into the eel. She made sure to peel away the skin, and popped some of the inside in her mouth, chewing carefully*
Hmm... It's nice. Pretty weird, but nice.
no subject
I don't mind eating undercooked or completely raw fish. My stomach can handle just about anything so I can eat a fish right after killing it bones and all if I want. I just think this way has a better taste and texture.
[he seemed happy she found it edible at least. 'Weird but nice' was a pretty positive review in his opinion] I wasn't sure what kind of seasoning you liked so I just put a bit of all purpose seasoning salt on it. But I also put a bit of regular salt and pepper at the corner of your plate if you need it.
[with that, he cut off a big piece of eel for himself and ate it, seeming to enjoy it quite a bit]
no subject
No, it's fine. Thank you. The more you get used to the texture the better ot gets.
no subject
Guess I've got a lot of room for improvement in the way I make tea, huh? Sorry about that, heheh...don't feel like you have to drink it just because I made it.
no subject
*She held the cup out in front of her so that he could take a peek inside and see that she had indeed nearly finished her tea. With her eel finished, she pit the cutlery on the plate and sipped some more at the water*
That wasn't all so bad after all. Thanks.

[he thought for a moment then spoke again] say, do you think it's be seen as some kind of disloyalty if I were to go talk to the straw hats on friendly terms while we're in this race against them?
no subject
Oh yeah? Anyone particularly interesting or nice?
*Faye played with one of her loose curls while she thought about it*
Hmm. I suppose, without Grell here, it wouldn't be so bad. At least, so long as you didn't do anything to help them win, or that you made sure you were here when we needed you. Though if you did go, you'd have to go meet a guy called Sanji for me while you were there.
*It occurs to her then that it's obviously much easier for Thash to get from ship to ship, and she didn't want to use up the Nav when there was a change of danger and attack*
no subject
[he nodded at Faye's comments about talking to the straw hats. He'd just wanted her opinion, because...]
Well I already kinda talked to them already, hahah... I went over there to listen to some music they were playing and they invited me on board. Did you know they have a talking, singing skeleton on their crew? It's pretty crazy...but yeah, I didn't do anything to help them and the Was close enough for me to keep an eye on it and return if anything happened. I didn't meet anyone named Sanji though... Who is that? If you really want to meet him I could carry you over there pretty easily.
no subject
*Faye smirked and shook her head when he said he'd already been speaking to them. At least she hadn't said that she'd thought it was disgraceful, or anything negative about the idea*
A talking, singing skeleton? What the fuck? Shark guys and wolves I can just about handle, but a skeleton?
*Faye pulled a face, because the image she had in her head was of some kind of rotting, disgusting pile of bones. Not at all anything that could talk or sing*
Sanji is their chef, and his food is incredible. He makes a beautiful strawberry daiquiri and I wouldn't mind having another one if you happen to visit again. Just tell him who it's for and I'm sure he'd have no problem with it.

[he adjusted his pillow the same way as Faye, pushing the tray away from them with his tail so it wouldn't get accidentally kicked or anything. He then nodded with a small laugh as he thought about the non human thing] well, there were waaay more humans than non humans there, but....I do find I'm a little more comfortable talking to someone new if they've got animal features like me. [he paused for a moment, trying to remember if he'd spoken to anyone human besides that Lenalee girl] oh, y'know that grouchy guard woman was human and she did eventually give me her name. What was it again...
[his eyes widened suddenly and he looked towards Faye suddenly] crap, did you say that lady that made the warning over the journals was Elissa?! I think that's the guard lady I met...! [wow Thash, you're so good with names] ugh, maybe I should pay a little more attention to this kinda stuff... It's a good thing I didn't tell her I was with the bloody roses or she'd have shot me for sure...
no subject
I'm surprised I didn't see him when I was over there. They're sure one weird crew.
*Her eyes watched Thash's tail as he attempted not to make any more damage. She smiled and tipped her head back to rest against the edge of the bed when he said the name, and she sat up straight*
Wait. Wait. You were nearly shot at, but you got to the point of actually talking to her? Nicely? And you exchanged names? And she's Elissa?
*Faye sighed her disbelief and shook her head*
Damn right it's a good job you didn't tell her. So what, did you make friends with her too? Because that is going to be one fucked up friendship if you did...
no subject
Friends? I wouldn't say that, no. I talked to her nicely because I hadn't gone over there to pick a fight and was kind of trying to make a point that I'm not just some savage beast. But she kept her bow on her for the most part and I kept watching her. We spoke civilly enough at the end but I'm not trusting or making friends with someone that feels the need to keep a weapon in hand while talking to me...
[he paused for a moment, thinking back] How crazy...she mentioned some event had happened that put her on edge around people but I didn't connect the dots. I mean I can kinda understand how she feels but...civil conversation or not, I won't let her get away with it if she attacks us.
no subject
To be honest, the both of you probably should've been more careful. But at least you didn't tell her which crew you were on. And she probably shouldn't start talking about being on edge because of whatever reason. But you're here, and she didn't hurt you, so at least it worked out.
So...what did she look like? Seriously, these journals would be better if they had video...
*Part of Faye wants to know in case she comes into contact with the woman, or if she ends up on deck in a fight or something. The other part of her is just being nosey*
no subject
[he leaned back and stretched his legs out a little, reasoning his arms to fold them behind his head as he thought]
She looked like a young woman once I got a good look at her...probably just a little older than you? She wore this fancy blue and silver armor like some kind of royal guard would wear. She had this blue thing on her head but I caught a glimpse of her hair and it was brown.
no subject
*Faye stretched her legs out too, so that they were alongside his, their hips touching. At least he didn't describe Elissa like he'd fallen head over heels for her - that could have ended up pretty badly*
A woman in proper guard armour, huh? And a blue thing on her head? Like a hat?
no subject
[he smiled when she stretched out next to him, his tail coming over the lay across her knees]
It didn't look like a hat, no...reminded me of a towel, hahah. I imagine it was probably some kinda thick material that functioned like a thin flexible armor that laid flat on her head and shoulders like long hair.
no subject
Huh. That sounds pretty weird. Some women just don't know how to dress themselves...
*That said, she narrowed her eyes gently as she looked up at him*
Anyway, who are you to say that she was older than me? Do you even know how old I am?
*Ages, and also birthdays, was something the two hadn't ever really discussed*
no subject
[when she spoke of her age, his eyebrows raised a little] oh? Uh well, I dunno for sure...she just seemed that way I guess. But now that you mention it, no...I dunno how old you are.
no subject
*She grinned, knowing fine well she was asking quite a dangerous question. She knew she'd be unhappy if he guessed too old!*
And how old are you? I'm not used to guessing the ages of human shark Aquarian hybrids...
no subject
Well, I actually don't know exactly what day, month or even year I was born... I didn't learn to reckon time as early as most kids. But my best guess is that I'm probably about 22. That's based on rumors from locals around where I was abandoned, and how old the old lady though I was when she met me, and how long it seemed to me that if was alive before learning to keep track of time. As for you, um...you seem to be close to the same age as me, I'd guess.
[that was safe, right?]
no subject
*She laughed at the way he had tried to guess her age and she nodded*
Yeah. Close. I'm 23. Nearly 24. So what about you? Do you think you're nearly 23?
no subject
[he nodded at her age] ah okay, heh...yeah I figure Im close to 23 about now.
