[If so, what is the culture like here?]: The legend goes that King Ukir of Darkcloud Kingdom is a very, very old man who decided he didn’t want to live on the ocean one day. He lived in a very large city wide tower that housed many of his loyal subjects and at the top of it was one very large ‘sun stone’ a yellow gem that helped the kingdom thrive. Making a deal with a mysterious man, King Ukir was granted a long life and a levitating island. The clouds around the earth hide it from the sea below and help hold it in the sky. The clouds are fluffy but dense, able to walk on them the darker they are. The father out you walk, the more of a chance you have to fall off.
[Island peculiarities]: There are several huge tunnels in the island, where propellers can be lowered and pushed out, spinning to propel the island in case of need to move it, though they are rarely used. Emergency reasons only.
The clouds are huge and from below they look like an enormous storm cloud. The piece of land is supported by the clouds, floating in them. You can park a boat in the darker clouds, but lighter ones are more apt to sink a ship, very slowly. Walking the clouds feels springy and light, but the whiter the cloud the less safe it is.
It’s rare that anyone comes here, so when a ship does make it up here it’s almost a bit celebration. The people of the city tend to like good people who come with fun things to trade. It’s too hard for them to get anything from below so come with some fine goods! the people of the Darkcloud Kingdom are very fine seamstresses and tailors. Light flowing silkish clothing and wide footed cloud shoes that work very well in most clouds and even help some fast people run on water.
There is a large purple glowing tree hanging off one cliff. This tree is huge, branches stretching out and trunk wide. Its roots wrap around the cliff and through it. the fruit from this tree is what the locals call Cloud Fruits and eating a ripe fruit will leave the person happy and light feelings (which also makes it easier to walk on the clouds in further regions). An unripened cloud fruit is very hard and will weigh a person down, not only in weight but in bad thoughts.

Aug 1st and forward!
What was taking them so long?!
Never mind the fact that it had only been about a few hours since she spoke to her crew.

"Captain!" he called out in case she hadn't seen him.
no subject
"Ahoy~!"

"It was awful! I was stuck here for ages!" Which was just a few hours at the least, perhaps. "I was worried you wouldn't come!"
She pulled back, and held him by the shoulder.
"Which reminds me to give Faye a bit of payback later." That little brat was purposefully rubbing her the wrong way!

He held out the package. "Here, I thought you'd want this as soon as possible."
no subject
Green eyes blinked at the package before she gasped and tore it open, revealing the beautiful work in the shade she loved best of all. Grell admired the detail with gentle fingers for a moment.
"It's exquisite!" Lifting it up, Grell got a better look at it fully before glancing to Arthur. "Will you help my put it on?"

She slid her arms through and marvelled at how it actually fit, and she was wearing it properly. Giving it a few adjustments, Grell turned to face Arthur while pulling her hair from the inside.
"How is it?" She held up a finger towards him. "And be honest!" Idly, Grell was feeling over the material. "I don't think I could ever willingly get this stained with blood."

[she was easy enough to spot. Not everyone ran around in that much red. He approached her with his hands in his pockets, not looking exactly excited]
There you are. Weren't waiting long, right? [he might've greeted her with a joke, but not everyone appreciated his sense of humor... And from what he could tell Grell didn't accept humor well at all]
no subject
You'll have to define long, you know. [Grell smiles lightly before shrugging.] I'd say no, since time doesn't have the same meaning for me as it does for everyone else.
no subject
Oh, good. Hope you're not in a cranky mood then because I don't have real good news. Did Arthur tell you what happened at the beginning of the great ghost race?

[he paused for a moment, frowning a bit]
With that said, I hope you're not thinking of just charging into a war with them right now. I don't know what you are, but bit seems pretty clear you're the most powerful being on this ship...a war might be a tiny threat to you but it's a much bigger threat to your mortal human crew. There's likely to be casualties on both sides if we hunt them down and I'm sure they've got some decent people on their crew that would be open to a peaceful solution...
[dang it felt so weird to be saying crap like this. Never in his life had he considered a peaceful resolution to be superior to a fun and convenient violent one. This was a lot harder than raising his sword and charging into battle. But there were people on this crew he cared about and he didn't want them to be in unnecessary danger]
So will ya talk to 'em? That's all I'm asking. If they say 'screw you' then we're out of luck and there will be only one way to go...but it's you they want. I'll stand behind you if they only want to fight us but if you can avoid a war by talking things out as our leader, isn't that what a Captain is for? I'm not trying to tell you how to do your job... Just consider it, 'kay?
no subject
That was when she started laughing. ]
I can tell this has been simmering inside you for quite some time~! [She gives a sigh, smiling to him in a way that was more of a smirk than anything else.] If they're intent on targeting just me as you believe they are, then why didn't they just ask for me to be handed over to them, hmm~? No, instead they simply targeted my quarters, and our vessel.
[She crossed her arms casually, tilting her head to the side.]
At this point, I doubt simply talking to them will do much of anything! All they will request of me is to reign me in, and I don't change my colors for just anyone. This crew has an alliance with the Spade Pirates, and they are the only ones who I will negotiate with.
Also, as captain, it is NOT my sole decision to talk about a peace treaty or some other sort of rubbish. It has to be made as a crew, so luck to you on getting the rest of us to agree to that.
[She took a moment to let that sink in before continuing.]
For now, I will take no action either way. If we run into them again, and they are being aggressive towards us, then we will retaliate ten fold, since I think they would be beyond talking.
Any objections?
no subject
Yeah, well...when they fired on us they were under the impression the whole crew likes running around killing innocent people. I told them differently. Still though, you've got a point...and if they attack us as a whole again then it'll be clear they don't want peace.
...but no, no objections. [he actually smirked a little back] hope they're reasonable. Cuz if they're not and they hurt somebody I'll be right there with you retaliating.
no subject
That's the spirit! We should just enjoy my triumphant return!

"Grell. Grell."
It's pathetic. He's trying to sound casual, but he's desperate and it shows. He can't wait to see her. When he finally spots Grell he breaks into a smile and waves.
"Hey!"
no subject
"Dave!" She thought she wouldn't ever see him again!
no subject
When he gets close he casually throws an arm around Grell and gives her a kiss. "Damn, babe. You had me worried. This place is like hell without you."
no subject
"Well, no one said you could leave, idiot! How could you?!" Of course, she's pretty happy that they're both back, so her words carry little venom in them. When she pulls back, she checks him over quickly with a slightly nervous. "You're alright, yes?"
no subject
"I'm fine, babe. Fine as fuck in fact. So fine that during the ghost race people were like, who's that guy standing next to the first mate? He's so fine I can't handle it. I'd better not attack him because it would be a crime against nature to mar that handsome face."
no subject
"At least you came out unscathed~!"
