"Really? Now that IS interesting news. How's the Captain? She seems a little...off."

"She's crazy. But she makes sure her crew are looked after and safe. Most of the time. I'm pretty sure she doesn't like me a lot of the time but...I can live with that. She's likely to like you much better."

"Well, I do tend to get into the good graces of the ladies pretty easily," he said, stroking his chin as he looked off wistfully, "...Though her body is a bit slim for my tastes."

As soon as he said it, Faye glanced around them quickly, just to make sure that Grell wasn't in earshot. "Don't ever let her hear you say shit like that. She'll slice you up with her chainsaw."

"What? I like curvy girls, I'm upfront about it," he shrugged, "But yeah, she brandished that at me, already. I don't think she liked me saying it wasn't a very good weapon for most people. I mean, my points were solid, but she get all huffy."

"Whatever kind of women you like is up to you, but that's exactly my point - say something that thr captain doesn't agree with, and there'll be big trouble. Or at least, plenty stupid conversations."

"You wouldn't believe how often I end up in those."

"If you like that, then you've come to the right crew with the right ladies."

He looked her over for a moment, more out of general assessment than outright leering. This time.

"So what's your weapon of choice? If it's on you, then you certainly hide it well."

[myfayevalentine]

"Machine guns. But sadly we don't have any of those."

Faye pointed to the holster on her upper thigh, and the pistol she'd aimed at him earlier.

"I like anything that shoots. Round here, that means using the cannons too.'

"Never seen an old-timey canon up close. Could be cool to test it out," he nodded, "Those are pretty easy to hide. Though I wonder how much stopping power they have. Me, I prefer to carry openly."

He shows the long holster on his right.

"Double-barreled blaster. Packs a good punch, for having only two shots at a time. You can fell a tree with a few rounds of this."

Then he pulled his own pistol, tossing it to her, "Armor piercing rounds, quick reload, and easy upkeep. Must have kind of thing on the frontier."

"They can be interesting. But not nearly as fast or explosive enough as I'd personally like... But I can deal with that."

She caught his pistol easily and moved it between her hands, testing the weight, checking its features.

"Pretty nice."

"Stole it from a local weapon shop after I crash-landed on Sentinel III, back when I was about fifteen. Reliable little piece of hardware, that."

"Nice steal." She tilted her head as her eyes did a sweep of him, "Fifteen? So you've had a while, hm?"

"That depends on what you look at as 'a while'. Sometimes it feels like a really long time, but it was only five years ago."

"Five years, huh? That's cute." Because he's four years younger than him, so she can definitely say that. "And you haven't found a better gun since, hmm?"

"I'm already so used to the guns I came up with, it's be hard to change."

"Yeah, I know what you mean. Here's hoping you'll find the ammo easy enough, hm?"
