Beach party beach party
Who: Hazmat crew!
Where: Aquatica Paradise (and sailing to it if you'd like)
When: appx Sept 24-30 (or, for sailing, anytime the 14-23)
What: VACATION. They've had a rough summer so it's time for some downtime. There are water parks, beaches, and an obligatory onsen, so mix and mingle with the super-happy (and young and pretty) locals and have some fun!
Warnings: not likely
Style: anything you want
Status: closed to Hazmat crew only unless another crew is on the island?
[Gan Ning promised his ragtag crew a party, and by god, they were going to have a party. It might have been worth it to hold on Isla Empieza, to mingle with other crews there, but there wasn't much going on there to stick around for. He heard from someone in the harbor about this island and decided it would make a great place for a party.
Somewhere along the way Raphael disappeared, sadly, but the rest of them continued on. They had already put off partying for too many reasons - a poor showing in the race, other crewmates disappearing, Cynthia's rescue from the clutches of giant spiders, and so on. No more. This time, they were just going to put down anchor, hang out on the beach, make some ice cream, and have a good time. Besides, with Tsuzuki joining the crew, they had to show him that they knew how to stick together, right?
((ooc: for all your info needs the island is here. Date your threads in the header if you need!))

Of course~
"Well, I don't claim to be a star player, but I'm willing to see if I stand a chance." He picked up the other paddle, holding it out to the challenger. "Should we see if I lose or not? Hm!"

He took the paddle from Tsuzuki and examined it, then tossed it up in the air and caught it when he was satisfied there was no funny business going on.
"You're the new guy, right? I've kinda had my hands full lately, so I guess I'm gonna have to introduce myself by kicking your ass."
no subject
"Is that how all the new crew members meet their right of passage then? I should warn you right now, I have a thick skull and take a while to drop. Not sure if that matters in my butt kicking or not, but I thought it fair to warn you."
no subject
"I don't think we really have any sort of welcome ritual or anything. This is just how I say hello."
Actually, it wasn't something he'd had the chance to do in a long time. It was his go-to way of making friends as a kid, but once you grew up, most people weren't as amenable to someone picking a fight with them as a method of greeting. Funny how that worked. Spoilsports.

"How does that work out for you? I'm sure it's quite the bonding experience. Hm-hm!" Serve!
no subject
He returned the serve easily, though probably with a little more force than was exactly necessary. To be completely honest, he had no idea what the actual rules of the game were. If there was something more to it than "hit a ball back and forth and try to make the other guy miss," he was unaware of it. He was never really a "play by the rules" kind of guy.

"I see then. Do we have a lot of interesting people in our crew than? I'm sure you've screen a good bit of them already." In the boxes, Asato! Aim inside the boxes...!
no subject
He wasn't the type to give out a lot of information for free. He'd much rather know what this guy knew so far and get his impressions on the whole Hazmat deal before offering anything of his own. Bad habits die hard and he had years of them built up. Being simultaneous nosy and evasive was probably one of the worst of them.

Lea continued not to have much interest in the rules. He was just hitting the ball back across the table with as much force as he could. He was pretty good at keeping his eye on it and returning it, but he really wasn't making much effort to aim.
"Hiccup and Toothless keep themselves busy and Ariel can't exactly move around much, so you kinda have to go to them if you wanna chat."
no subject
"Cynthia, Gaius, Hiccup, Toothless, and Ariel... hm... I'll have to remember those names when I meet them." The mention of the galley distracted him, and he got excited... He hit the ball a bit hard and over Lea's shoulder. "You cook?! ...oops."
no subject
"Anyway...yeah, I cook. Don't get too excited, though. I'm kinda on the mediocre side of mediocre."
He'd been slowly getting better at it, but there was only so much you could do when you were stuck in a ship's galley with no real access to good ingredients. There was fish. And eggs. And more fish. And more eggs. And then sandwiches. He'd cook chicken, but Brady would never forgive him.
no subject
"Well, I'm sure you're better than me. I'm pretty sure you should never let me in your kitchen, not that I really ever tasted anything wrong with my cooking. No one else seems to be able to eat it though..."
no subject
He figured he should probably throw that one out there. He had enough trouble with Roxas eating his merchandise. He didn't need someone new adding to the problem.
"Though if you're paying, it's 4 doubloons a box. Crew discount."

It was a moderately successful business, to be sure, but it would be a whole lot more successful if people would stop eating the merchandise. And if his supplier didn't have the biggest sweet tooth on the ship.

Priorities, he had them. Actually, he was being about as friendly as he ever was. You just had to adjust to his charming personality, that's all.
