Beach party beach party

Who: Hazmat crew!
Where: Aquatica Paradise (and sailing to it if you'd like)
When: appx Sept 24-30 (or, for sailing, anytime the 14-23)
What: VACATION. They've had a rough summer so it's time for some downtime. There are water parks, beaches, and an obligatory onsen, so mix and mingle with the super-happy (and young and pretty) locals and have some fun!
Warnings: not likely

Status: closed to Hazmat crew only unless another crew is on the island?

[Gan Ning promised his ragtag crew a party, and by god, they were going to have a party. It might have been worth it to hold on Isla Empieza, to mingle with other crews there, but there wasn't much going on there to stick around for. He heard from someone in the harbor about this island and decided it would make a great place for a party.

Somewhere along the way Raphael disappeared, sadly, but the rest of them continued on. They had already put off partying for too many reasons - a poor showing in the race, other crewmates disappearing, Cynthia's rescue from the clutches of giant spiders, and so on. No more. This time, they were just going to put down anchor, hang out on the beach, make some ice cream, and have a good time. Besides, with Tsuzuki joining the crew, they had to show him that they knew how to stick together, right?

Tsuzuki had heard about the onsen from the locals, and with such fond memories of the one he had almost missed out on in Hokkaido, the shinigami made it his goal to enjoy this one. Gan Ning had told him to enjoy himself, so he was going to. Hello, long-need vacation! Asato was going to milk you for all it was worth!

After the amazing trip there, the archway and cable car especially, the near century year old guardian smiled at the lovely ladies on staff that ushered him to the changing rooms. They were quite the catch, but he was far to shy to do more than smile and laugh awkwardly at them, making them giggle at him with amusement. When he finally got to the baths, he sank in the warm water with a heavy sigh of contentment.

"Aaaaaaahhhhhh... This brings back memories..."

After his bath, he decided to take in the recreation. He found a ping-pong table, but he had no one to play with. He glanced around like a grade school boy, hoping he wouldn't have to play alone on the playground...

Gorgeous attendants and a real bath? All of Gan Ning's worries and troubles were good and washed away, by the time he got to the soaking. Without his headband and feathers, his normally-spiky hair was looking unusually wilted, for once. Grinning broadly, he stepped down into the bath just behind Tsuzuki.

"Not too bad! I didn't think I'd find one like this here!" He found a bench under the water and stretched out with his arms on the lip of the bath. "Gotta love a real bathhouse."

"Oh, yes... I haven't been to a decent onsen since the last office vacation back home, and it was abruptly cut short. No interruptions here though! Hm-hm!" He hummed happily. Grinning like a kid, Tsuzuki glanced in Gan Ning's direction.

"How long has it been for you?"

"Ugh, I don't even know." Ning scratched his chin, thinking. Had he even been to a super-nice bathhouse in this world? Nope, not that he can remember. What about Orochi's world...? "Ehhh...Azai said he was gonna find one of their castles that had a fancy bath but he never did. Damn, probably not since way back home in Wu."

"Oh, wow! You must feel really spoiled then!" He suddenly leaned forward to gape like a child hearing of a new concept for the first time. "I wonder if this is like the one back in Hokkaido? They had great food, drink, table top games, and karaoke. We should treat you to the experience, pal! You deserve it, Captain! Hm!"

"Little bit." Sure, with his rank he did manage to get invited to enjoy the luxuries of the palaces now and then, but it was pretty rare. Gan Ning tipped his head to one side curiously. "Hokkaido...? I think I've heard...no, that was Honnoji. Where's Hokkaido?"

"It's the northern prefecture in Japan, where I'm from. It's cold most of the time, but it has natural hot springs all over the place. My friend are stationed up there, so they get to enjoy them all the time. It's a rare treat for me down in the lower part of the country. I couldn't afford it on my own anyway, as broke as I always am." He sighed, but managed to keep his smile. Just a reality he had to live with.

"So what sounds the most appealing to you to try first?"

"Ohhhh..." None of the warriors he'd met in Orochi's realm were from that far north, so Gan Ning had never heard of it. But it sounded cool, and he nodded in interest. "Well, if they got gambling and drinks, I'm all over that."

He leaned in, then, grinning broadly. "Wouldn't say no to a couple of those nice ladies who saw us in joinin' us, too, eh?"

[At the beginning of the vacation, Roxas can be found enjoying the beach. Kicking and splashing int he surf, building mounds of sand that don't remotely resemble castles or just lying around catching a little sun, eating some ice cream. He's still under doctor's orders for that arm of his, so he'll be doing the best R&R one can do with one arm.]

[Roxas is so going to the Aquarium to admire all the strange wildlife he can find, and you can bet he's going to be hitting up the petting the underwater sea creature exhibits so he can pet more strange creatures.]

[Near the end of the trip, he gives up on the sling for a couple of days in favour of going to the water park. He can be found pacing about, looking at the slides with a hint of trepidation, or considering what other things he'd like to do. Once he goes down a slide though, that's it, expect he'll be doing that all day to really enjoy the thrill of sliding down hundreds of feet and cheating death.]

"They just might have both! Never know," the guardian replied with a smile. Gan Ning's face made his day. He liked making people smile. This sounded like it could be fun... then the guy had to mentioned the ladies. His face went red.

"Ahahaha... you really think so...?" Oh, clearly he had no idea how to deal with ladies.

[ Talk about busy bee. Cynthia will be off doing a few things. If you're lucky to catch her, you're free to join her little adventures. But since this is water world, she'll be in a bikini about 90% of the time.

Her eyes are up here, boys.

a. Sun bathing over at the beach. She's been waiting to do that for the longest time now ~~so don't ruin it for her, Roxas~~

b. Taking a dip over at the bath house. Is it a unisex sauna? It's probably a unisex sauna.

c. Having a picnic over by the lake. Yes, she actually packed a lunch and had a whole picnic set up. Why? Because she can.

d. Riding a tube down by the lazy river...she's probably taking a nap in it too. Tip her over if you dare.

e. Wildcard. Come at me bros.

"Why not?"

The blush was pretty obvious, so of course Gan Ning had to call attention to it and make it worse. "What's the matter, you shy or somethin'?" He threw back his head and laughed, stretching his arms back out on the rim of the bath as if to display all his tattoos. Like there was anyone else in there to admire them or anything.

[Setting up a small party for the crew attracts attention, so it's entirely possible their relaxing, bonding time may be interrupted by beautiful people in swimsuits who want to taste the ice cream and dance around the bonfire with them. It would be rude to turn them away, right? Especially the girls in bikinis.

It's an actual party, though, and Gan Ning personally has seen to it that aside from Gaius' ice cream, nobody in his crew had to do the work. He has the money, after all, he can hire people to cook and serve food they'll all enjoy. It's a late afternoon/evening affair, with food and goofing off on the beach followed by a bonfire. Mingle!]

[Gan Ning knows it's wiser to ogle Cynthia when she's at least in the bikini, rather than follow her into the sauna. They throw people like him out of unisex saunas anyway. So he'll save it for a day on the beach - while he's hanging around, trying to get some fishing in but man, the fishing is terrible.]

Heh! I see you're back out to worship the Sun. Haven't had enough yet?

[ Of course she had her nose buried in a book when he turned up. But wait. Who was he? She was hearing a voice but it was a little distorted. ]

Hm...?

[ She raises her head only to jump at the sight of a misty figure standing next to her. Ok giant spiders were one thing. But no way in HELL she'll be dealing with mist figures on her vacation. ]

Woah! Woah hold on, back away!

Huh?

[he double-takes, and then triple-takes as a real, honest look at Cynthia, straight on, surprises him. She's sort of shimmery, it's very weird and he hadn't noticed upon spotting her just out of the corner of his eye.]

W-whoa, you okay, Cynthia? Not gettin' too much sun or anything?

"Ah... well... maybe shy isn't the word I would use," Tsuzuki gave a light laugh as he tried to explain himself. The tattoos didn't bother the shinigami at all. After seeing the curse on the covered his partner's body, tattoos seemed so tame to him.

"I guess I don't really have the best experience with attaching people my way unless I'm making an idiot out of myself. I'm sure you have much better luck of it though, Gan Ning. I mean, what's not to like?"

Ning smirked. "Eh, I get around." Sometimes it took money, but he didn't care. "Maybe you just need a sidekick to help you out. You know, talk up your good points, encourage a lady to bring a friend to get to know you, such and so forth."

Yep, a wingman. And who'd make a great wingman? That's right...

"Does that really work? Maybe that's why I noticed those guys are the bar come in pairs..." He tapped his chin thoughtfully. He'd never had a friend to talk up his good points before. Most people could go on for hours about his flaws though...

"I'm not sure there's much to highlight about me. I mean, I've been told my body is nice, but passed that, I'm just a booze hound..." ... so said Tatsumi, whose opinion was pretty objective as far as he could tell. "What are ladies looking for in good points anyway? Maybe that's what I should be asking?"

"Ping-pong, huh?"

He hadn't had a chance to get to know the new guy that well yet and he'd come to the conclusion as a kid that there was no better way to get to know something than kicking their ass, so a little friendly competition sounded like a great idea. Lea leaned on the door frame and surveyed the room. His skills were probably a little rusty, but there was probably a way to cheat...

"You looking for someone to lose to?"

[Lea waits for Roxas to get wrapped up in petting all the cute little sea creatures in a touch tank, then drapes himself over his back and starts poking at animals.]

Let's steal one and eat it.

[Roxas giggles a little, shaking his head.]

I don't think these are for eating. I think you're just supposed to pet them.

You're not supposed to eat them. That doesn't mean you can't eat them.

[He snatches a sea urchin and picks it up carefully, actually following the instructions on a nearby sign not to lift it out of the water.]

You can eat these.

[Not that they look appetizing when they're alive.]

Why would you want to?

[Roxas pokes at it and pulls his hand back. Ouch. He sucks on his finger without much thought given he's had it in marine water all this time.]

It's pointy. Doesn't look like it would be good.

Well, you don't eat the outside. It's got stuff in it. You open it up and put it on rice or something. I could probably make it.

[He's no sushi chef or anything, but how hard can it be?]
