What: VACATION. They've had a rough summer so it's time for some downtime. There are water parks, beaches, and an obligatory onsen, so mix and mingle with the super-happy (and young and pretty) locals and have some fun!

[Gan Ning promised his ragtag crew a party, and by god, they were going to have a party. It might have been worth it to hold on Isla Empieza, to mingle with other crews there, but there wasn't much going on there to stick around for. He heard from someone in the harbor about this island and decided it would make a great place for a party.

Somewhere along the way Raphael disappeared, sadly, but the rest of them continued on. They had already put off partying for too many reasons - a poor showing in the race, other crewmates disappearing, Cynthia's rescue from the clutches of giant spiders, and so on. No more. This time, they were just going to put down anchor, hang out on the beach, make some ice cream, and have a good time. Besides, with Tsuzuki joining the crew, they had to show him that they knew how to stick together, right?

Oh, no! I just happened to meet him at the onsen actually. I only asked because I just joined the Hazmats at the last island stop. Captain Gan Ning invited me after we'd spoken a few times. I'm Tsuzuki, Tsuzuki Asato.

[He leans down to extend a hand for a handshake. Nevermind that she is wearing a swim suit... or is that why his eyes are closed?]

"Captain" Gan Ning? [ Snort. ] Never thought I'd see the day when someone would actually address that guy so formally.

[ She happily shakes his hand. Not bothering to get up since she was way too relaxed for that. But she does smile. Didn't want to be rude, after all. ]

Cynthia, not "Miss". I'm the hazmat quartermaster and Ning's right hand girl...except not really. Pleasure to meet you.

Is it strange? I figured until we were better acquainted I would call him Captain, at least to others. I'm still figuring out what kind of person he is to be honest. Hm!

[He plops down on his heels after the handshake. It seemed odd to talk to someone lying on the sand while standing over them. This seemed more polite... to him.]

Ah! He mentioned you when we were at the onsen! He said you were an amazing treasure hunter! Do you do a lot of it in your home world?

I haven't called him by "Captain" or his actual name since...

[ The blonde sits up and actually thinks about this one. She's known Ning for more than half a year now, and she's always called him Kitty. Always.

Wow, what a revelation. ]

Huh. I actually can't remember the list time I called him by his real name. Thing is, he had just become captain when I joined the crew. I asked him if I should start calling him captain and he told me I could call him whatever I wanted. Big mistake.

[ Does she feel bad that she's never called the man by his actual name? Nope. But oh wait, what was that last part again? ]

...hold on, did he actually say I was "an amazing treasure hunter"? Those exact words?

Haha! You sound like you have a fun friendship to me. I'm glad to hear it. I was hoping to find a crew that were kind of like my friends back home. We might not always get along, but after the words are thrown around and punches thrown, we still look out for each other in the end. It seems like I found a crew like that after all. Hm!

Yeah... he said that you found him a really nice treasure once and gave it to him. Does that sound strange?

Not get along? Darling, I have NEVER gotten into a fight or anything that even comes close to it with ANY of my boys, EVER. Words are never thrown around and punches are never thrown. That's not how we work.

But please do refresh my memory. You see, I've found a lot of "really nice treasure" and gave some to everyone. So I'm not sure I know which one he told you about.

Hm! I guess that's a guy thing. Ladies are a lot smarter than us. I think I have heard some of the ladies back home moan at the men around the office.

[He just went on smiling because Wakaba and Chisae were pretty strong in their own right, but they still got on men for their recklessness. He wouldn't have them any other way.]

Um... I think it was a bell.

Flattery won't get you anywhere with me, dear. It's best you know that now. Never worked with any of the boys and it ESPECIALLY never worked whenever Ning would try it to get booze money.

[ The took her back to when she first met him, ahh such fond memories. ]

What was that? Did you say "a bell"?

Flattery? I guess it does sound like that when I say it out loud. Just making an observation on my part though, really. I tend to think out loud sometimes, and it makes me sound like an air-head. I'll remember to not try sucking up though future reference though. Hm!

[He wondered if Gan Ning wanted her to remember this or not. He didn't want to miss out on that bar hopping. He had a feeling he would need it in the months to come. The extended vacation could only be fun for so long after all...]

[If she wasn't going to whisper, he would just keep his voice down then.]

He mentioned that we weren't hurting for money because you were good with money and hunting for treasure. He used a gem covered bell to prove how good you were. Does that sound familiar to you?

Ooooh that bell! The diamond encrusted one right?

[ Oh that brought back such fond memories ]

That wasn't treasure. Well, it's probably worth as much as treasure. But I went to a jeweler and had it made specifically for him. That was the first time I found treasure in this world. So I got it for him as a thank you preset for believing in my wild hunch.

[He would leave out the part about how the man chipped off gems to buy booze. It didn't seem an appropriate thing to say about a present.]

That was generous of you. You must see him as a good friend to have such an expensive gift made for him. You do enjoy treasure hunting though, don't you? He made it sound like you were very good at it when we were at the onsen together.

I used to spend my days ruin hunting and researching about mythology back home. Whenever I'm not training anyway. So I know a thing or two about finding treasure. But, to be honest, finding most of that treasure was pure luck.

You like mythology? It was a bit of a hobby for me back in my world. It helped me get to know some of my friends better actually. What kind of myths does your world have, if you don't mind me asking?

Well mythology in my world is not really "here are stories of what people from the time before believed in" and more "here are records of creatures that no one's seen in a while". Those creatures being legendary pokemon, and the thing is, I've actually met a few of those creatures myself.
