[He scratches the armadillo behind the ears and waits for him to snap up the piece of hardtack before herding him back to his enclosure and shutting the gate behind him.]

And the first mate is...[He looks up at the sails and is rewarded with a loud MOTOCHIKA! from up near the crow's nest.]...on lookout at the moment, it seems.

[He really knows very little about that sort of business. Sho kept entirely to himself, so much so that it took Motochika a while to notice when he disappeared.]
If there are any special arrangements you'll be needed due to that business, let me or Xun Yu know.

For the most part I don't need a lot really. I just need a blood donor every three weeks or so. My powers slowly wane after I bite someone, so if you wanted me battle ready at some point, I could use some blood. I'm not a hunter though, I find it distasteful. I'd rather have someone willing...which means I suppose I'd need two volunteers at a minimum.
[It does sound like a lot.]
Aside from some lightheadedness that passes, it's not damaging to the person. Around the third week or so I begin eating more frequently to hold off on biting someone so I usually snack on trail mix, but I can procure it myself.

[Motochika scratches at his head. It's an arrangement he hasn't had to manage before, though certainly a more manageable one than he had to negotiate with Zozo when he'd first set sail.]
You can count on me for that, certainly. As for a second, we'll have to see who on the crew is willing to offer. One of the ladies, perhaps.
[He would advise against Mitsunari and Ragna, but if they agree to it, they agree to it. Yasaburo is, perhaps, disqualified to begin with.]

[He bows a bit respectfully, he knows what a sacrifice it is for people to give up their blood so willingly. He understands that.]
I will do my best to hold out as long as necessary so as not to inconvenience people. I am fine for now. Apart from that, I cannot enter any private quarters uninvited...oh and I refuse to go to that island. If you intend on going to Serenes, I will use the Nav to go elsewhere for that time.

As for private quarters, you'll likely find yourself limited to your own if that's the case, though I suppose that's what "private" means, really. Assuming that just means private quarters inhabited by people. Yo-chan and Twitchy will let anyone in who's carrying food.

The Spades have gone there twice and will no doubt go again for Leanne. I don't fancy spending another week in the crow's nest with my skin crawling.

That is fine, it doesn't trouble me. It's just worth mentioning. I believe it is only people it is referring to, but I've never tried with animals.

As for holy ground, I suppose I shouldn't be stealing things from it in the first place. Not that it would stop me, mind you, but there are more than enough islands in the sea to visit. No need to stop on one that will be a problem for the crew.
[He'll have to make a note to himself and pin it to his charts the next time he tries to decide where to go.]

Nonsense! Enough of that attitude, lad. Curses have nothing to do with it, I assure you. If they give you problems, it's on their head, not yours, and if you have to beat their heads in a little to get that across, then that's how it'll have to be.
