[As soon as the sun did not rise on the 1st, like others had suggested it would, Gan Ning wanted off Isla Empieza. He put out the call to his crew - get on the ship, leave no man behind. Or woman, Cynthia.

The storm hit while they were two days out from the island. It would take all hands on deck to keep the Nightfury from capsizing, good thing they have a couple of solid dragons to keep things in check. Just watch out for Gaius and his fiery pendant! By the time the storm blows out in the wee hours on the 4th, the charts put them drifting near to Eternal Bliss. Are the residents still pissed at pirates for what Kodachi did? Who cares, they need to land to make repairs. And maybe score some treasure, if anyone wants to go through the marriage requirement.

[Toothless tilts his head at that, his eyes glancing this way and that as Draco demonstrated. He shifts about where he sits, bringing his wings out a bit. He can be big! Wingspan counts, right?

Still, Draco's not making fun or anything. He looks positively giddy. And sure, Toothless doesn't know for sure what he's going off about, but he's got words like 'name' and 'dragon' down, pat. Draco, huh?]

[Gives a soft laugh.]

Yes, I know you have wings. I imagine you use them well, too.

[Steps around to the side of Toothless so he can be all nosy about his wings now! Though he makes sure he stays where Toothless can see him.]

Can I touch them? Er. [Shakes his head.] ...I probably shouldn't act as though you can actually understand me. Even though you sort of seem to. Maybe that's what happens when you spend a lot of time around humans.

[The dragon keeps his wings partially extended, his head turning to watch as Draco makes his way around him. He can tell there's a question there, and from the attention Draco gives his wings, Toothless can kind of figure what he might be asking. Maybe. Going for a fly is a bit out of the question without Hiccup.]

[Toothless doesn't make any move to shy away from him and he doesn't look like he's about to bite Draco's head off, so he takes that as permission to reach out and carefully run his hand over the edge of one of Toothless' wings.]

My mother would have a fit if she knew I was petting a dragon. You're very powerful, after all, aren't you? Even if you are a bit small.

[Just like a big ol' bat! Toothless gurbles smugly, sitting there as he watches Draco check out his wings.]

[Laughs, craning his head back around to grin at Toothless.]

I didn't even know dragons could make sounds like that.

[Keeps running his hand over his wing. Just because. Touching a dragon. Ha!]

Say, where's your keeper? If that's even what one would call him. Your human, I suppose. Hiccup.

[Still the most bizarre name. 8|]

[Too bad you haven't heard the names of the rest of the gang, Draco.

But upon hearing his Viking kid's name, Toothless gets up. Oh, he wants to see Hiccup? Well, the boy shouldn't be too hard to track.]

[TOO BAD INDEED, he wouldn't even know what to do with all those.

Draco steps back when Toothless rises, eyebrows arching. He recognizes the name, does he? Merlin's beard...]

You, my friend, are fantastic.

[Much better than a bloody hippogriff. He wants one. brb asking Lucius for a pet dragon.]

[The dragon starts along, pausing to glance back at Draco to see if he's going to tag along.

lol yes Draco you do that]

[Yup, he's there! Looking impressed that Toothless is even checking for him at all. He grins, making a sweeping "after you!" sort of gesture with his arm.]

[Okay good then. Toothless continues along, off to check out Hiccup's usual haunt.]

[Aw yeah, usual haunt is go. Wherever that is.

But Hiccup is there, doing things. Because pirate.

Actually, he's trying to draw up a new design for Toothless' tailfin. Being so caught up in his work, he doesn't realize that his dragon friend is bringing over a wizard friend.]

[Ambling along after Toothless, hands clasped together behind his back as he looks curiously around at the ship. He notices the boy Toothless is leading him toward after a moment, and since there's no one else around, assumes this must be Hiccup.]

Is that him?

[Toothless gives a confirming growlf before he bounds over beside the Viking kid to peer over a shoulder.]

[summing_it_up]

[Upon hearing a distant voice, the viking blinks. Huh. Maybe he's going crazy.

Only when he hears the heavy thumps and feels someone looking over his shoulder does he look up, his bulb nose bumping into the side of Toothless' wide head.]

–Ow. Hey, bud! That's a little close there!

[Hiccup reaches up to push and pat the dragon's head, laughing a bit.]

You sound excited. What's going on– [Cue green eyes glancing over at Draco. A lopsided grin is given.] –oh, um, hey there!

Hello, my diaphragm spasming friend.

[You know, in case Hiccup had any doubts about who this is.

Then he grins as he takes another step closer and holds out his hand.]

Only kidding. Hiccup, yes?

[b2_dragon]

[The dragon rumble-purrs as he's patted, nuzzling his head against Hiccup's face. He glances at Draco as the blond steps over to introduce himself.]

[summing_it_up]

[His face is now half-smushed by the dragon, eyes lighting up when he remembers the voice and the light dig at his name.]

Ha ha. Yeah, that's me! It's nice to finally meet you in-person, Draco.

[Dry as he sounds, Hiccup gently pushes Toothless' head away, picking himself up off of the deck to shake the offered hand.]

Indeed. I've been getting to know your dragon. You know, he hasn't even tried to eat me once yet.

[He lets go of Hiccup's hand and casts a fond look at Toothless.]

I'm beginning to think he's actually an overgrown cat.

[Toothless pulls away, sitting himself down to look between the two. Did Draco mention 'eat'? Are they going to have foods? That'll just bring the dragon's head back around towards Hiccup again to nudge him in the side.]

That's good! Fortunately, he's not interested in eatingoof people. He's a big fan of fish, though. And maybe a few other things since everyone has been feeding him on and off...

[Both hands now rest on Toothless' head again, trying with all his might to keep some space between him and the dragon. There's a sidelong glance Toothless' way.]

Seems that way, doesn't it?

Fish are in large supply here, at least. That's convenient.

[He thinks for a moment, and then pulls his wand out and steps over to the railing of the ship, peering down at the waves. After a moment, he points it at the water.]

Accio ONE fish!

[And now hopefully he won't pull out some giant sea beast or anything -- nope, okay good, it's just one smaller fish that was lurking near the surface that comes flying up out of the ocean. Draco stops it before he gets smacked in the face with the flopping thing, and then he floats it over toward Toothless.]

Is it alright if I feed him?

[Dangles the fish over Toothless' head.]

[Now it's just become a shoving game with Hiccup. Spoilers: Toothless will win. -that is until Draco does something fantabulous.

The dragon glances out of the corner of an eye as the blond waves the little stick around, but he jerks his head up altogether as something comes floating up from the waters and right over the railing of the ship.

His ear flaps perking, Toothless licks his chops as he eyes that fish there. Pfff, Draco can ask all he wants but the dragon's just going to help himself if it just remains there. Say aaaaah~]

Well, yeah, ocean and all.

[Yeah, Toothless was winning and that isn't cool but what can he do about it?

Just as another push and shove goes by, Hiccup also jerks his head up in surprise, staring at the floating fish. His expression is nearly similar to Toothless', mouth somewhat gaping before he can actually parse together a sentence.]

–Uh, ah, sure? Sure! You can. Go ahead, it's been awhile since he last ate.

[dragonbadfaith]

I go to a boarding school back home and we have house elves that prepare and serve all our food. I'm used to it just appearing at mealtimes, so it took a bit to adjust to the...differences...here.

[Makes a slight face as he bobs the fish up and down, bringing it low enough for Toothless to snatch AS THOUGH IT WAS EVER REALLY OUT OF HIS REACH.]

So much bloody seafood, though. I like fish and chips as much as the next person -- don't tell my mother, she'll think it's too plebeian -- but Merlin, it does get old.
