     "Wha-" Lyrik gapes at the woman a moment as that sinks in. "-wait! You're going to kill it?! Here???!"

"No, this-" She waves her sword about. "Is to give it a bloody haircut. Of course I'm gonna kill it. It looks gods damned delicious."

     Whoa, she's serious. That's what scares him. "But...we don't even know where it came from! And what did it do to you? It's just a little thing too..!" Lyrik yammers.

She turns back toward him.

"Listen, kid. Things that are small and helpless and don't know when to hide in this world get fucking eaten. Sooner you learn that, less likely it is to happen to you."

This isn't so much a statement of personal philosophy as a conviction that This Is How The World Works, and while she doesn't like it, she doesn't think she can do much about it.

     Lyrik takes a moment to swallow that bitter message down before he shakes his head and points back out at the cow. "B-but where's a cow supposed to hide in a situation like that!!" he huffs.
