[he doesn't wanna say because you'll make him get off but he makes a horse noise with his lips before turning Zoro in the right direction]

By the way do you have any money? [since if it's a stand or a restaurant or something, it's probably not going to be free]

Nope. [he's been lounging in that tube most of the day, who has time to remember money?] Maybe it's just somebody throwing a barbecue, eh? Or else we can do like we did on Deesuko Ballia.

[aww yeah eat and run. Those are the best. The mere thought brings a smirk back to his face.]

Eat'n'run. [unless it's a barbecue and then it's invite themselves. He slides off Zoro's shoulder and grabs a stick idly]

[he follows the Luffy nose, because the nose knows. Lifts his head and tests the air a bit, sliding his hands into the pockets of his swim trunks.]

Now I can. You smelled that all the way back there? Damn.

[aww yeah whatever it is, totally inviting themselves.]

My nose is smart! [ding!]

[they soon come to a clearing where there's a restaurant at a short distance, with the word's Freddy's Fried Foods and Pizza. It smells good but he holds out an arm to stop Zoro]

Hey... we should put on disguises first.

[yep, a restaurant - that means dine 'n dash. Zoro boggles at Luffy for a second]

Huh? Disguises are weird, Luffy. And where are we gonna find some anyway?

[he has no idea where his moustache from Kin'emon ended up, it might be Blue's new toy]

Hmmm. [good question. If Kin'emon were here it'd be a different story. But since he isnt'... He looks around and then finds a fuzzy green caterpillar that he holds up to Zoro's face]

Your mustache.

[EW NO he may not have the visceral reaction Sanji does, but bugs are still gross and he smacks it away. The poor thing goes flying, hopefully it's just a preview to his future existence as a butterfly]

Dork. Let's just make sure to run fast, then it won't matter what we look like.

[even if you're not gonna wear one, he is, He searches around a bit until he finds a propeller seed and tries to stick the stem up his nose.

It just makes him sneeze though and a giant booger comes with it]

Maybe that's why Kin'emon has a Devil Fruit for it. [beat] It is a Devil Fruit, right? I mean he thinks it's magic but it's pretty obvious.

[as they step out of the trees and onto the beach sand, right outside the restaurant. It does smell pretty damn good.]

Who knows? We can throw him in the water and find out? [figures enough is enough and just puts his hands behind his head and trods toward the food]

Can you do magic and devil fruit at the same time?

[yes, can we please? I mean...]

C'mon, Luffy, there's no such thing as magic where we come from. It's not like here.

...okay now I'm really hungry. This place looks like it's gonna be good.

Usopp says there is. [plops at a nearby table]

He says he was born next to a whole island of magic people. [Luffy folds his arms] Too bad we missed it but I guess we'll just have to come back to the East Blue again.

[snorts, because Usopp...well...

Uncanny coincidences aside.

Zoro slides into the chair across from him and tries to flag someone down for a drink at the same time.]

What do you think, then? Maybe after you become Pirate King, we can go visit the place where we got started. Show how much we've grown.

Yeah! [that's a great idea] Maybe we can find your island, too. Does it look like moss?

[gives him the deadpan face for a moment before his drink arrives]

It's a normal island, okay? Normal and a little boring. But I guess I wouldn't mind going back and seeing if anything's changed, someday.

shishishi [it's too much fun to pick on him though. The food arrives and Luffy eats it happily]

Do you have a lot of friends there? Like Johnny and Yosaku? [he doesn't know if they're from that place... but it could be!]

[shakes his head a little] Johnny and Yosaku weren't from there, I met them after I left. No, I don't really have any friends there. Just Sensei.

[he's entirely blase about it, too.]

I wanna see it. [there's a lot he wants to see again] I wanna see every island in the world. Wouldn't that be great? [there's so much to see. And when they were done things would be different in other places to go see what happened and old friends and just have fun]

Yeah, sounds like fun. [if it means he can stay with the crew and Luffy forever? Hells yeah.] There's lots of places I've never been. We oughta see North, South, and West Blue too.

Yeah! [chin in his hands just thinking about all there's left to explore] And I've decided that even after I die, I'll wait, but I want you guys by my side, okay?

[because he's too selfish not to hold onto them all for as long as he can]
