...I said I get it, Zoro. Don't worry, that ain't gonna happen.
no subject
Sorry.
[but he's glad for the understanding, even if he's going to be just as hurt to say goodbye.]
no subject
S'fine.
[Even if he hadn't already understood the necessity of returning them to their home, the whole dying of starvation image certainly would've convinced him. Nngh.
He falls quiet for another long moment, trying to direct his thoughts elsewhere. Maybe focus on the solid presence beside him instead. Happier thoughts!]
no subject
There's not even a single brush of another presence against his haki. They got real lucky today - an actual serene bath in the onsen. Best timing ever.]
no subject
Sanji's plenty happy to let Zoro touch him however he wants. His hand finds Zoro's thigh in return, just drifting over it, up and down, though he also makes sure it's clear he has no intention of trying to take things to any inappropriate places while they're in the bath.
A few more lazy minutes drift by before Sanji eventually speaks up again.]
Mm...should probably get out soon.
[He can tell his hair is starting to curl from the heat of the water and the humidity in here.]
no subject
[but that curly floofy hair looks so good on you, cook]
I forget that places like this, the water doesn't cool off like a regular bath.
[it's like a hot blanket all wrapping them up, he could totally doze off right here. But no, Zoro knows not to drown. So after yet another long silence, he pulls his arm away and grabs for the rim of the bath, clearly in no hurry to push Sanji off him and get out]
no subject
...Shit. [Laughs a little.] Now I feel too damn lazy to move.
[But ugh, must be done. He reaches for the edge of the bath and heaves himself out.]
no subject
Ahem. Good thing Zoro is also quite lazy and lulled into relaxation, or he'd do something to get them kicked out right there. Once he's had his fill of watching he turns and hauls himself out of the bath as well, pulling the towel down off his head to wipe the sweat and water from his face. Now, where are the big towels...? He forgot to grab a couple earlier.]
no subject
Yeah, big towels might be a good idea right now.
Sanji turns to go grab some, dragging one over his hair (and causing it to stick up all over the place even worse than when it was just curling from the heat) and then wrapping it around his waist. He holds a second one out for Zoro as he walks back over to him. Then he heads over to where their clothes are.]
How much longer you think we're staying at this island? Wouldn't mind making the shitty trek back up here again before we leave.
no subject
Dunno. You know how hard it is to predict when Luffy's gonna get tired of a place, especially if he's having fun. Or if we've got nowhere else to be, which right now...
[he hides his ennui well, but that taste of action against Hawtrey didn't satisfy him for long. Zoro wants more. Bigger. Badder. And that need will always be there deep down underneath the moments of tranquility, like this.
He dries off and leaves his hair for last, flopping the towel over his head and scuffing it fiercely. One good shake and he'll be dry in no time.]
no subject
Hard to have anywhere we need to be in this world...
[Yeah, he gets it. He may not need the action quite as much as Zoro does, but he certainly gets restless all the same.
He reaches for his manpris, then pauses for a second. Earlier, before going to find Zoro, he'd taken a certain chain off his neck and slipped it into his pocket. Wearing it around his neck still felt a little ridiculous somehow, but...
Well, whatever.
If he's ridiculous, who cares. He knows where he and Zoro stand, there's nothing wrong with wearing something like that.
So he digs his ring out of the pants pocket and casually puts the chain around his neck again like it ain't no big thing, then continues getting dressed.]
no subject
Zoro is all languid and happy, though, so seeing it fills his gut with a rush of warmth. He chose to carry his as reminder to himself, when the cook was missing. This? Even better. He prowls over and up behind Sanji, catching him with an arm around his waist.]
Making sure Luffy doesn't lose it again?
no subject
Something like that.
[Or he just wanted to wear it because he's the biggest shitty sap on the planet, but that's okay. He lays a hand over the ring, curling his fingers around it for a moment and leaning back against Zoro's chest.]
I just wanted to.
no subject
'S a good idea.
[which is somehow Zoro-speak for you're amazing and I think I love you. He's never had someone care so much about even the smallest things about him, it's taken until now to really click. Now that it does, he can't let go.
Or, well, he will in order to put some pants on, but give it another minute or so.]
no subject
[Lets his forehead rest against Zoro's temple, his nose brushing his cheek. He rests a hand on the arm Zoro has around his waist and stands comfortably in his hold for a long moment, turning his other hand so that the ring rests gently in his palm.
The heat between them is definitely noticeable, but he doesn't think about it too much since they just had such a long soak in the tub. Could just be from that...
Still. He likes seeing this side of Zoro.
But yes, pants might be a good idea. They're due to be interrupted any second.]
Much as I like you without clothes, marimo...might wanna do something about that.
no subject
[it hits his senses a moment later, and he huffs an annoyed breath against Sanji's neck before pulling back and swiftly going to grab his pants. If the next group coming in catches a glimpse of his ass, so be it, but he's covered fairly quickly. Too bad, he was rather enjoying that moment.]
All right, so... [turning his attention back to the cook, ignoring everything else, as he tugs on his haramaki and throws his shirt on] ...guess we should get out of here, huh?
no subject
Yeah, guess so. Wanna look at anything else, or should we head back down?
[Reaches for his shoes next and slips those on, ignoring the next group of tourists that come trundling into the room.]
no subject
[he checks to make sure he's got everything, even the bandanna, and tosses his head to invite Sanji to go with him. They'll leave the bath to the tourists, there's more important things elsewhere. As he falls into step with the cook, he leans over to murmur something privately.]
Unless you wanna find someplace private...
no subject
[Bumps his shoulder into Zoro's as they amble along, sending him a quick smirk.]
That and the gardens. They got shitty places you can walk through to continue...relaxing.
no subject
[shares that smirk]
It's probably boring but I guess I wouldn't mind.
[dumbass can't even articulate that he wants to grab as much alone-time with the cook as he can get, while they have the chance. They've been better about not completely ditching the crew but really, after the level of mush they reached in the bath, he needs a little while longer to enjoy it. Can't let it slip away so quickly.]
no subject
Well, if you're sure you wouldn't mind...
[Heads through a door that leads out to a winding path lined with various trees and flowered bushes. The gardens themselves are just a short distance away, with plenty of benches in various nooks and crannies, or just the occasional large, flat rock to lounge on.]
Maybe we can flag someone down and have 'em bring us food or something.
no subject
[ahem. No, that didn't just slip out, he had to make himself say it, even if it's true and always has been. He can be honest once in a while, really.
Still, it isn't until they take a bend in the path that screens them entirely from view of anyone at or near the onsen that he brushes an arm against Sanji's back to stay close to him. As if he could wander off and get lost! Not this time. His attention only wanders a little, to the trees and the way all sound from outside hushes the deeper they go.]
So, it's a week late, but how's this for your birthday?
no subject
Ain't bad, gotta say. I treat myself pretty damn well.
[Kidding, kidding.]
no subject
You said you didn't want a fuss, I listened. Wouldn't even know what to get you if I did.
no subject
[Pokes him in the small of his back.]
Besides, I wouldn't ask you to try picking out any good kitchen utensils.
