[It galled him that he couldn't be the one to go out and take part in the fun, but someone had to actually captain the ship and that was the job he was most needed for. Well, if attackers somehow made it onto his ship, they were going to have to deal with him.]
No matter what happens, give 'em hell!
no subject
[Blowing up ships sounded like a good idea, and she had some bombs ready for that just in case.]
no subject
First overgrown octopus, and now this? What a pain in the ass...
[... He should probably be a little more worried about their situation. As it is, he's annoyed at most, but not concerned in the slightest. If it's a fight, then the result is already decided as far as he knows.]
no subject
[He's not going to let that one go, apparently.]
Shall I toss the ball over to one of our visitors' ships?
[It's never really clear if he does these things deliberately to motivate Ragna or if the two of them are simply destined never to mature past elementary school.]
no subject
Who the hell was cheating?!
[Motochika was. Well, both of them were, but Motochika started it which makes everything his fault. And yet Ragna's the one who's getting laughed at. Typical.
... Actually, it occurs to him now he's just admitted it was a thing that happened. There go all his attempts to erase it from his memory.]
─AND YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT 'BOUT THAT!!
[Somebody should probably remind him there are enemy ships to be taken down and that they can continue their old married couple comedy routine later.]
no subject
[He knows which part he's not allowed to talk about and, mercifully, he seems to be keeping it to himself. He doesn't think there's any reason not to mention the whole catch thing. That was just a simple bit of fun. The whole face licking thing, though, that's something neither one of them needs to have aired at the moment.]
Or are you saying you don't think you could catch it if I gave it that good of a toss?
no subject
[Kodachi glanced behind her shoulder to give them both a sly smile. The enemy ships were coming closer, and she'd already gunned tears in the sails of some to slow them down.]
A pity I missed it! Mitsunari-san and I were too avian for such pursuits, sadly.
no subject
he was having funabout the whole thing.]That's not the point! And I'll have you know I could totally catch tha─
[Wait a second.]
... LIKE HELL I'M FALLING FOR THAT!!
[He just did.
The man makes a pause from raging at Motochika in order to turn to Kodachi and yell properly at her, too.]
And that's none of your business!
no subject
[Motochika ties down the wheel and leaves the helm. As much as he doesn't like carrying their small collection of shards on his person, he's loathe to leave them in his cabin if they're going to come under attack.]
Keep the ship afloat and send theirs to the depths! I'm going to get the shards!
[Cannon fire sounds from the enemy ships. Warning shots, or testing the range. Either way, not a good sign.]
Find out where the guns are! That's your target!
no subject
[Ragna yells after Motochika, watching him rush off to his cabin. It leaves him with a somewhat unpleasant feeling (kind of like seeing the driver take his hands off the wheel while you're inside the car), but eventually he just turns his attention to the ships coming their way. They're still a little too far to get onboard, so there's nothing he can really do about those─ well, there might be, but there's no guarantee their own ship wouldn't get caught in the blast and no one wants that. Even Ragna is reasonable enough to know that.]
... Great. Guess there ain't much for me to do other than wait...
[Life is hard when you come from a
2D fighting gameworld focused on melee combat.]no subject
He grabs his anchor for good measure, just in case he has the chance to use it and returns to the deck.]
How goes it?
no subject
[She pointed toward two of the ships - the fastest ones - where were gunmen elevated to the side of the two ships' starboards.]
There are two of them!
no subject
[Motochika retook the wheel, setting his anchor down at his feet. It was a stroke of good luck that it's not the entire fleet firing at them, but pointing out what a relief that was wasn't exactly the best way to boost morale and drum up fighting spirit in the crew.]
Don't even give them a chance to reconsider that!
no subject
... Hey, Sea Devil. How 'bout we stop fooling around? Just take us closer to 'em so I can get over there and end it already.
[That suggestion is probably closer to the "things to never do during a naval battle" end of the scale, but in Ragna's head it's a perfectly reasonable solution. Given the number of opponents the enemy ships seem to have on board... he sincerely doubts it'd take him more than a few minutes at most. One could perhaps consider it a sign of overconfidence, but experience says there's more to it than that.]
no subject
How close do you need? I don't want those guns making a dent in my hull but if you're willing to jump a bit...
[Well, a lot. He should build catapults.]
no subject
If he's deseperate enough, I can drop him.
[Though that requires a belief that she won't just drop him into the ocean, which is always a temptation.]
But if you want to get closer, I'll stop their barrage from touching the ship.
no subject
I'll take her in close. Might as well look them in the eyes so they know who it is that's sending them to the bottom of the ocean. If it looks like there's no funny business on deck, then you can toss Ragna at them. Perhaps Mitsunari or Kodachi as well if they're up to it.
no subject
[He wouldn't trust Xun Yu not to stab him if she happened to hold anything remotely sharp, so you can't expect him to take his chances here. Besides, that's what airdashes were invented for.]
Kodachi's staying here.
[Not because he doubts her ability to handle herself while there, but rather because she's still a teenage girl and Ragna sincerely believes she doesn't need to witness the carnage he intends to bring about.
Mitsunari's feelings are of understandably less concern.]
no subject
[She acknowledges, before she looks between Ragna and Kodachi, faintly curious.]
It's really no trouble, and quite safe.
[She kneels neatly, and places her palms flat on the deck as the violet aura of her magic flames from within her.]
no subject
I can go over there and sink their ships! [She was talking to Motochika, but her eyes were trained on Ragna. She wasn't certain what he was up to, but she could guess that it was because he wanted to protect her for one reason or another - little did she know he meant to shield her virgin eyes.]
[The battle with that hallucination of Hazama was still fresh in her mind, after all, and Ragna had spent it trying to get her out of the way.]
no subject
His wives are fighting.]
Er...there are quite a few ships out there...you could go to different ones... Might get the job done faster anyway.
[If they start fighting on this ship, it'll sink faster than it would with anything their enemies might try.]
no subject
[It was a good idea, and Kodachi nodded. Something for each wife to do.]
Brilliant - the faster we get this done with, the better! I wish I had a dinosaur to ride into battle, though.
Miss Xun Yu, could you take me to the crow's nest of one of the ships?
no subject
[He muttered it mostly to himself as he steered the Katabami closer to the enemy ships. Nothing looked too out of the ordinary. No big, elaborate weapons or anything of that sort. However, that didn't mean the enemy didn't have tricks up their sleeves. They always seemed to, really.]
There should be a few of those signal flare things in a box on the deck. Take one in case you need to call us in. Who knows what those blackguards have in store this time.
no subject
[Ragna doesn't sound entirely pleased with the arrangement, but it's probably the best he can hope for. As long as she doesn't get dragged into a bloodbath, that should be enough.
As for Motochika's suggestion, well.]
Won't be needing that.
[Let's be real here, with how much of a stubborn ass he is, he's more likely to go down with that ship rather than ask for help. Besides, the thought they could have something he wouldn't be able to handle doesn't even cross his mind.
As he prepares to board the enemy ship, Ragna's lips curl up in a smirk. It's not a nice one.]
Speaking of which... I don't think we'll need any prisoners either, eh?
[Leaving any really isn't in his nature.]
no subject
Allowing any of them to live will be nothing but a detriment to us.
[There was no chance Mitsunari was going to sit idly by as everyone else did the fighting. It was a conqueror who raised him.]
