Intro Log: April 2015
Have an intro log for the month of April!
Who: Any and all new characters, as well as anyone hanging out on or around Isla Empieza!
Where: Near the fountain in the town center.
When: New characters will arrive around April 9th! The log is good for as long as you need it.
What: You've just been dropped on your head in a weird new world. Time to figure out what the heck is going on!
Status: VERY OPEN.
Spring has arrived in Empieza! The days are cool and occasional thunderstorms growl through the night. If the citizens of Empieza seem more anxious than usual, it's because of the pirates that aggressively roam the streets, hunting for fresh meat -- either for shanghaiing or sport. If you don't wish to be coerced to sail under the flag of Ammon the Bloody, it's best to stay out of their way.
Feel free to throw your characters here if you need a place for them to get situated and start figuring things out! Start new threads, tag into others, meet the people who might just become part of your crew! Older characters will be in and out, too, depending who is on the island at the current time.
HAVE FUN! And welcome to High Seas!

[Though it's probably quite likely that he'd still be like this after several months. He tends to get a bit enthusiastic.]
I'm Titus Alexius, Great Priest of Reim.
[Oops, the whole title came out again. Not that he sees why it might be bragging. Instead he's drawn himself up to his full (not at all impressive height) and is beaming.]

Pleasure to meet you Titus Alexius, great priest of...whatever that last part was. I'm Cynthia, quartermaster of the HazMat crew. Have you joined any crews yet?
no subject
[He doesn't know the first thing about that. He's only ever been a passenger and that was only once or twice. He usually has no need for ships if he wants to get somewhere.]
no subject
Oh, so you're that kid I was talking about magic with.
no subject
I guess I am?
no subject
How you doin'?

[That's where his priorities are, really. He spent a very long time chasing crabs on the beach and watching fish in the shallows. He's slightly disappointed, though, that aside from the tiny whales he's just traumatized, the animals seem more or less like the ones he's familiar with.]

[Buys a holy figurine, looks at it, and then bites the head of, chewing thoughtfully] Hmm not bad.
You find a crew yet?
no subject
[Did that man just eat a figurine? Surely that can't be good for his teeth.]
no subject
Any one offer yet? If not, I think the HazMats might be a good fit. We have a bunch of magic users.
no subject
[He brightens immediately at that. That would definitely make his life easier!
Then he sobers up a little. There's an important thing he needs to take into consideration if he's going to choose a crew. He pulls out his journal and opens it to the entry he made.]
This man...is he on your crew?
[He points to the conversation he had with Marco. It's very important that he not be on a ship with that man.]
no subject
No, Marco's captain of the Spades. He and my captain don't get along, but his son is part of our crew.
no subject
His son? Why doesn't he sail with his father?
[That's an equally important question. If they have their differences and have chosen to follow different crews, that's one thing, but considering how Titus' own "mother" used him as her spy, he can't help but be suspicious of what might be a similar arrangement.]
no subject
But don't say anything about it, Roxas is still torn up about Lea disappearing.
no subject
[He didn't act like a dangerous crazy person bent on destroying the world in any way. So there was hope there, at least.]
I can quite understand why someone wouldn't get along with Marco, though. These beliefs of his are very, very dangerous. I can't stress enough how dangerous they are.

[She gives the boy one good look over. He didn't seem...dangerous? Maybe a possibly threat to her patootle's sanity, but that could easily be fixed with rules and a designated hiding area on the ship.]
I know, my crew should have a opening.
no subject
[Not that he really knows enough about ships to be asking, but it seems like a question that's worth finding out the answer to.]
no subject
[Plus a strangely huge collections of chickens, some dragons, pokemon and only one woman. But whatever, details.]
no subject
[Not that he knows anything about the political situation in this world, but it seems like a prudent question to ask.]
no subject
[She wasn't really sure. Cynthia never really thought about what her life would be like if she was part of the navy.]
I come from the region of Sinnoh. I was a champion there. Here though, I am a lowly quartermaster for the pirate crew known as the HazMats, and we have a navy ship because... we were lucky enough to acquire get one. For free. Yup.
[She couldn't really tell him that they out right stole it. Arceus knows what he'd do.]
no subject
[That doesn't make a great deal of sense. It takes a second to sink in what it might mean.]
Did you steal a ship from the navy?! They'll have your heads for that, won't they?!
[No one takes kindly to pirates. He knows that there are pirates that aren't horrible villains like out of adventure stories, of course, but that doesn't change the fact that piracy is illegal.]
no subject
[Wow Cynthia, way to sell your crew to a newbie.]
But as a new comer yourself, the navy would target you sooner or later. So might as well join a powerful crew now...while she's offering.
no subject
[It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to him, but he's well aware that politics doesn't always involve the wisest decisions. He's just come from a very important summit that achieved more or less nothing because of the egos involved, after all.]

I think I have a way to make sense of it, but it's going to take some investigating!
